Sexism.

So what is your opinion on sexism today?
I don't like that. I feel that both sexes should be treated equal, both negative and positive. Both male and female are victim's to sexism such as
1. A woman may be paid less than a man for doing the same job.
2.A man may be required to sign up fight for his country/be drafted while a woman is not.
3. A man who has sex with many women may be admired by other men, while a woman who has several sexual partners is labelled a 'slut' or a 'whore.'
4. No matter what their relative incomes, some women expect a man to pay for everything on a date, rather than paying for themselves, splitting the bill at dinner.
5.Men calling women "Bitches".
6.Men alway's think with their dick's.
7.A man hits a woman he is a monster
8.A woman hits a man she is "Strong"
9.If a woman does a mans job she is considered a "Lesbian"(Mechanic for example)
10.If a man does a woman's job he is considered a pussy (e.g. stay at home dad, ballet dancer)- Credit goes to Nekohime
I want to know how women fell about sexism because you know how in the media they always talk about how a woman is a "bitch" and nicknamed as "Pussy"(I.E. i'mma go get some pussy tonight) and they usually make fun of feminist women too.I don't know how to describe what i feel about this in words but i tried my best.

You're right, and this is why feminists keep saying "the Patriarchy/sexism hurts everyone." I'd also add 10. If a man does a woman's job he is considered a pussy (e.g. stay at home dad, ballet dancer)
I'll add more later...my wrists hurt. =/

Don't forget about how uneven the birth process is. By that I mean no matter what men want, women get the final say.
"I'm not ready for a child." -Man
"Well YOU should have thought of that. We are having this baby." -Woman
And conversely:
"You can't just take away my baby like this. You can't kill our child."-Man
"This is my body and I'll do what I want. You don't understand what it's like to carry a baby for nine months."-Woman.
But yeah, I don't like sexism. Let no man hit no woman and let no woman hit no man.

Yep. I'm sick of being called a feminazi for just wanting to be treated like the opposite sex.

And now that I've added a women/gender studies minor, I'm sure I'll just get more frowns and eye-rolls... esp. around here. :\

After last week's article—"Why Feminism Is the Anti-Viagra"—likened feminism to actual boner-killing, we've noticed that Psychology Today has been particularly hard on the women's movement over the past few years, blaming it for everything from unhappiness to sexual harassment to just plain evilness. Here, we collect some of its greatest hits of He-Man Woman Haters posts.

My Opinion:
Women hate men for having power. While Men fear women that have power.
Other Thoughts:
Why wasn't Hilary Clinton elected president?
Most popular answers: -People weren't yet ready for a Woman leader.
-People felt she would let her "emotions" get in the way
-People thought she lacked a certain quality: Being Male
Final Words:
I don't like sexism. But, like racism, sexism will always be around.

I guess what I find myself wondering, is do women who consider themselves feminists or whatnot really believe that a man can do as good a job as a woman in terms of nurturing children? While I do agree that equal opportunities should be given to both sexes in any area, and one should not be discriminated against based on their sex (in the example of women making less money than men for having a particular career), to think that men and women are exactly the same is a bit ridiculous. That is not to say that men are better than women, or vice versa, but we are both very different sexes, with different levels of hormones, physical abilities, and attributes that serve specific functions. I do believe that women are better nurturers than men, but that doesn't mean i feel they should be limited to nurturing, as they are frankly capable of thinking with the same intellectual capacity (if not in certain cases a higher capacity -- there are a lot of dumb males) than men. We have equal value as human beings, but in certain cases, we do have very different capabilities / functions. (i.e. men won't ever breast feed, or give birth, or experience menstruation). I apologize if this sounds sexist, I do really believe women are better than men at quite a few things.
There was a clever quote from my big fat greek wedding that I'll never forget: "the man may be the head of the family, but the woman is the neck, and if you cut the neck...". It is very, very true. Women have a lot of power over us, and many of us men are too dumb to realize it lol.

Even if that was his opinion, I took it as a joke. We all find certain things funny. I find everything funny. /humans

I think men and women can totally raise children equally. I mean, the only "child-raising" ability exclusive to females is... breasts that give milk.
But guys can certainly do every other part ;D
Everything else, yes, both are quite capable.

It's really hard to say, and I don't want to stereotype because I know there will always be exceptions to the rule. But even from a hormonal perspective (im sorry if that sounded weird), women tend to have a higher amount of estrogen in them, making them perfect candidates for nurturing -- less aggressive, more soft, etc. Whereas men (and again, I'm generalizing and I realize there are exceptions to the rule) to be on the more aggressive, irritable, impatient side due to our surplus of testosterone. Reasons like these, along with the physical differences, are why you will find more men willing to join the military / engage in warfare (and I should mention that as a male myself, I am opposed to warfare), or do more physically strenuous tasks (i.e. hard labour) -- their bodies and hormones are just better built to the task. I do really feel there are fundamental differences between the sexes, and that really should not be ignored. That being said, I do feel that anyone from any sex should be allowed to do whatever they want.

An important thing to note is that men and women are different and so they need to be treated in different ways. I'm not saying one should be treated better than the other, but there are a lot of differences between men and women and that needs to be taken into account.

And if you think about it.. it is a GOOD thing that men and women are different. Men (hetero / bi) would not be so crazy for the traits women possess (i.e. breasts for example), if we possessed them ourselves (manboobies excluded). The differences are very much a good thing, and it keeps us all from completely "fucking ourselves" so to speak lol (no offense of course to anyone who enjoys fucking themselves ~ masturbation is a wonderful thing).

Where does that stretch of imagination make sense?

Where does that stretch of imagination make sense? It doesn't, and that's why I am all for equal treatment and equal opportunity of both sexes. There will be select women out there that physically can match (or at least come close) to men, and so those who want to do things like hard labor, etc should be allowed to. But for example, the owner of a moving company will more likely choose a male over a female as an employee, simply because on average, a male's physical capabilities (assuming he is in good shape) will overcome that of the average female. I mean on a personal note, my bone structure is huge compared to my gf's.. her hands alone are almost half the size of mine. You cannot ignore these differences, but that shouldn't stop anyone from any sex being able to do whatever they want to.
As far as social standards are concerned though ~ both sexes should definitely be treated the same. i.e. the label "slut" or "whore" (and I'm not fond of either in their literal contexts), if they have to be used, should be applied to both men and women.

Well a good example would be the primary school system. The majority of teachers in primary schools are women which can cause problems for young boys. Such as that its more difficult for boys to sit down and pay attention when they have a lot of energy than girls. In the old British school system before classes all the boys would be taken out onto the soccer pitch to run around for an hour or two and expend all thier energy so they could focus. But this does not happen in today's schools and female teachers have a tendency to label these boys who cannot sit still as problem children and discipline them for something they cannot control. As a result they often do not do as well as the girls.
Another problem in the primary school is that it is natural for boys to roughhouse and fight physically, particularly teenagers. However female teachers to not understand this and it frightens them because in women there is an instinct that direct physical conflict is bad. The result is a zero-tolerance policy in most schools that any physical confrontation means instant expellation from the school. While verbal bullying the method of bullying used by girls is allowed, with the victim often being told to just "grow a thicker skin".
Essentially because many women in the primary schools are unaware of how boy naturally act they punish the boys for not acting like girls. This can lead to major developmental problems down the road.
