I'm against marijuana.
It is addicting not as addicting as cigarette but
is very addicting.
If it were to be legalize I believe the crime rate
would increase.
more people are gonna use it and more people will experience
the bad effects of it and it is more destructive than cigarette
and alcohol. such effects include:
Triggers a short-term drop in the hormones that direct growth and development.
Lowers sperm production in males, resulting in fewer normal sperm cells.
Tinkers with the balance of hormones that control the menstrual cycles of girls and women.
Pot tilts the balance of chemicals in the brain that regulate mood, energy, appetite, and attention.
It affects learning and memory processes, and can cause forgetfulness and reduced concentration.
Pot also reduces logical thinking and calculation skills, and can impair a user's ability to perform complex tasks, including driving a car.
If you are gonna talk about the benefits it's not
worth than the bad effects it would cause.
The only great effect of marijuana is a significant
increase of appetite which could help people especially
those who are undergoing surgeries that will require
a lot of strength and nutrients to help increase
the chance of success and help them to recovery
other good effects of marijuana can be aided by medicines,
such good effects include alleviates nausea and treatment
of nuerogenic pain.
Aside from that I believe all of the good effects of marijuana
can be aided by other medicines.
Don't think that once its legalize government would earn more money
by taxes, its more like the government would spend more money to
build institution to help those who have been deeply addicted by it.
And get more people to maintain peace and order from the people
who got stoned.
Don't think that making it legal would help the government control over
it. Making it legal will definitely increase the demand and the more demand
the more supply the government can't control the demand moreover the supply.

The dangers of cannabis is having a bad trip and going into a psychosis or a panic attack, it's a small risk, but you know just as well as I do that it exists and that blazing weed enhances the danger way more than just drinking. And do not forget the fact that if you smoke "too much" THC can stock up in your fat-cells, mostly around the brain.Spoiler:
^ thats enough information about psychosis, if you're afraid of getting psychosis from weed, then you should totally stay away from alcohol.
And panic attacks. You can get a panic attack if you smoke too much weed and let your brain think all the nasty things it may start thinking. I've smoked too much only once and had a panic attack. All it does is:
-make you dizzy (so sit down)
- at least for me it makes my brain think of all the possible negative things (just start thinking of stuff you like, happy things)
-makes you feel as if you cant breath (even tho at the same time you have no problems breathing) and because of that you start breathing faster and faster. Unless you start breathing slower, your hands and legs will start to go a little bit numb, you'll get dizzier and everything starts to spin around you. Thats because you get an overdose of oxygen. So just start breathing sloooooooowly or if you cant, use a paperbag.
How I know that? Panic disorder fuck yeah! And guess what? Weed actually helps me with it. If I start feeling like I'm gonna have a panic attack soon, I smoke, get relaxed and its gone before it even hit me properly :)
And one thing about panic attacks, if you think you're getting one, getting scared of it and thinking about it only makes it worse
And what if the thc stays in your fatcells? Because it just IS there, it doesnt mean that you're high the whole time till its all gone from your fatcells. The only downside is that it can be detected in a drug test long after you've smoked. And that can fuck up your life. But the funny thing about drug tests is that most of the illegal drugs dont stay in your system very long. Cannabis, almost the least harmful drug stays in you for the longest time. So doing harder drugs is safer than smoking weed, IF you only think about the drug tests and the risk of getting caught. And that is wrong in so many levels.

But hash is infact slightly addicting, how much is depended on the kind of hash you're smoking, since it's not the cannabis in it that addicts you. It has something to do with a substance in the indica(the kind of plant most commonly used to refine for hash). I'm not entirely sure about how that shit works, but it is apparently slightly addicting.Since I'm too lazy to write it myself, wikipedia to the rescue!
"Hashish is a cannabis preparation composed of compressed stalked resin glands, called trichomes, collected from the unfertilized buds of the cannabis plant. It contains the same active ingredients but in higher concentrations than unsifted buds or leaves. Hashish is often a paste-like substance with varying hardness and pliability, its color most commonly light to dark brown but varying toward green, yellow, black or red."
So, I wonder how hash is physically addicting, but weed isnt, since they are the same thing. Hash is just the most potent part of the plant. And no, it has nothing to do with indica. usually there's 2 kinds of weed:
sativa that gives you more of a head high. usually if people get panic attacks because of weed its sativa because if you're used to smoking indica. It makes your mind race, gives you a bright feeling, doesnt make you into a couchpotato like indica does and may cause some mild hallucinations. Also people who get paranoid are most likely smoking sativa. Its usually better for smoking outdoors because it doesnt make you tired. Makes you more creative. Good for cleaning too D;
indica gives you a body high. Makes your whole body sooooo heavy and makes you feel as if you're sinking in your sofa. Its usually better for watching movies and just hanging around or just before bed time, because it really helps you fall asleep. And in most cases Indica is better in medical use.
And then there's hybrids. Breeds that have both sativa and indica traits some may be 30% sativa 70% indica or 50%/50%. And just about any variation. And what it does to you? It really depends on if its indica or sativa dominant.
So, indica isnt more addicting than other weed and neither is hash. Its the same stuff just in a different form. Hash (good hash) is just more potent, but you just dont smoke more potent stuff that much. And thats what people dont seem to get. If you have a bowl full of good quality weed (or hash) and a bowl full of crappy weed. You dont smoke the same amount of them. Just like with alcohol, you have a sixpack of beer, you drink it. But would you drink the same amount of some 50% liquor? My guess is no, you wouldnt (I on the other hand wouldnt touch any kind of alcohol)

Cannabis is addictive physically (you're brain) you won't die from withdrawls as you will with opiates. but it is MUCH stronger withdrawal than nicotine. How come? I'd love to see some proof. Cannabis isnt physically addictive. Just mentally, and thats because you enjoy the high, it feels good and ofcourse you want more of something that feels good. Just like candy tastes good, so you want more. Sugar can be addictive too, mentally. ANYTHING CAN BE ADDICTIVE.
I've sometimes smoked every day for almost the whole day (24/7) for about 2 months straight. When I ran out of weed, what did I do? I just didnt smoke. Had a "hangover" for a day and that means, I was a little bit in a bad mood, a slight headache and nothing more. Yeah, sometimes I get these cravings "oh I sooooo want to smoke a bowl now, I'd pay anything for it" but I get those same cravings for about anything. Good food (especially good and unheathy food), sex and many other things. Still, I'm not a sex addict, I'm not a junkfood addict or sugar addict. I just like those things, and usually people want what they like.
And about nicotine, see what wikipedia has to say
1. heroin
2. cocaine
3. alcohol
4. tobacco
...
8. Cannabis

I also do not smoke, and I don't have a problem with people who do. If they were to legalize marijuana i wouldn't be against it... I would rather have people smoke and drive than drink and drive. From what I've seen, people who smoke are more paranoid. Which i think would lead to better driving. (If they chose to drive while high, which I'm highly against.)Have you ever wondered why people get paranoid when they are high? Its because its illegal. Even if they dont think they are doing anything wrong, they know its illegal and it can get them in trouble. Thats a reason enough for many people to get paranoid, eh? :) But if it was legal people wouldnt have to be so afraid of police and the laws anymore. Ofcourse it would take a long time for weed to be totally paranoia free because even if it was legalized today, there would still be many many people who look down on weed and stoners. And still many people would have to hide it from their families and loved ones, because many people are so attached to the idea "weed is bad because its a drug and its a drug because its bad".
And now something else than just pointing out the false faqs of this thread.
As you can guess, I smoke. Sometimes 24/7 for months, sometimes I dont smoke for 2 months. Why I smoke? It helps me with my panic disorder, helps me with drawing (mostly because I'm not that criticising then and I tend to try out new things, experimenting), helps with stress and makes everything better. My favorite food, it tastes over 9000 times better when I'm high. Comfy clothes feel like heaven when I'm high. Shower feels like I'm in the middle of some tropical jungle, under a waterfall. My dogs fur, oh how fucking soft and nice it feels. And most importantly, sex. Fuck yeah.
Does weed make me stupid? Hell no. Before I started smoking, I wasnt interested in things. The only things I knew were stuff told to me at school and at home, I wasnt interested in learning new things. Now I'm into politics, I love documentaries and learning random things is fun. And yes, I do learn, weed hasnt taken that away from me :) But I've been thinking why most of the stoners seem so stupid, I have two theories:
1. Even tho I like learning nowdays, and its especially fun when I'm high, I only like to learn about things I like and that are interesting. If I'm not interested in some subject, there's no way I'm going to remember it especially if I'm high.
So I know about things that interest me. But the things that arent interesting, I dont know about them and even if I tried, no way I could remember them for longer than a day.
2. I know lots of stuff and I think alot, but especially when I'm high my mind races so fast I cant really keep up with my mouth. If I start talking about politics high, I'm not even halfway talking when my mind is already on other topic and its not usually very easy to just rewind back to the politics. And everything I say from then on sounds just stupid.
Also, I know this thread is OLD. But I just wanted to point out some things in this thread, in case if anyone else happens to read this. And I dont blame those people who said things that arent true, even if it may sound like that. Its the fault of the drug propaganda and drug companies who do everything to keep cannabis away from people who really need it as a medication.
Heck, I've been to many anti-drug sites and the worst and funniest lie I found is that cannabis causes males to grow feminine big boobs if you smoke regularly. Its funny, because all of the long term smokers I know dont have even the smallest man boobs, just totally flat or with a bit of muscles, but no fat.
But even tho I smoke, and even tho I know many of the bad things of cannabis are just made up by drug companies, I know that cannabis isnt 100% free. But on the other hand, nothing is. And its just that weed is one of the safest drugs and it should be legalized because its your own business what you do with your body.
And lets say that if in general all the drugs were legal, it would be easier for people to actually get help on their addictions. If a heroin addict really starts to think he needs help, he most likely wont try to get it, because he knows what he does is illegal, and if he tried to get help, doctors wouldnt treat him very well. But if drugs were legal, it would be easier for addicts to get help, because they wouldnt be doing anything illegal and thus many lives would be saved.
Heard about Portugals drug policy?
If anyone wants to talk about this, I'm usually here every day :) [size=8]now I'll just hope I can post this freaking huge wall of text without breaking anything D: [/h]

Not the same thing, the point is that THC can cause psychosis a long time after you've been smoking, since it stays in the fat cells and thus can be released into your system at basically any time, usually connected to heavy weight loss during a small amount of time. Now the chance of actually getting a bad psychosis is minimal, but it is still there.
Alcohol doesn't stay in your system the same way.
And yes, I've been informed that hashish is indeed not addicting, and especially not good hash. The thing that is addicting resides in the acetone or other alcohol used for refining the hashish faster than not using any kind of chemical compound. Good hashish is refined naturally, not using any of these chemicals, so my initial point is indeed invalid.
During the year that has gone past since I made that post, I've been smoking a lot more regularly, and eased up to it a bit more. Now, I'm still against legalization, but thats mostly because legalization would lead to taxes which would probably lead to weed becoming even more expensive, and around here, weed is fucking expensive. It should not be legal, but tolerated for recreational purposes.

"It is still not clear whether this is a causal link, and it is possible that cannabis use only increases the chance of psychosis in people already predisposed to it; or that people with developing psychosis use cannabis to provide temporary relief of their mental discomfort."
I once watched a documentary on weed and in it they talked about a reseach on weed and psychosis and they said that weed causes psychosis to people already predisposed to it. Ofcourse I dont believe all I see and hear on TV, but if thats the case, people who are afraid of psychosis should ask their doctor if their family members have had a psychosis, because then they should stay away from weed, and alcohol too (and many other things). And in general too, even if people predisposed to psychosis arent the only ones who can get a psychosis of weed, people who are should stay away from it.
But keeping weed illegal doesnt help. People still smoke. And actually, because weed is illegal, stupid people smoke. I believe that many people who smoke "because its illegal and thus cool" would stop smoking eventually, "because everyone does it and its boring".
Also if weed was legal (or decriminalized) its very possible we would start getting more truthful facts from antidrug people (dare, above the influence, etc). At the moment nobody who has the ability to think with his own brains dont believe them. Ofcourse they have good intentions even tho they lie, but it doesnt work. People who should believe them, dont. And because they dont believe them saying weed gives males boobies, they wont believe them telling about psychosis either. They need to stop lying and be more convincing. That could be achieved (by time) if weed was more acceptable.
Also, I cant really say much about alcohol related psychosis, I dont drink so I havent thought much about it and so far I've only read about it while reading about weed related psychosis and a little bit about psychosis in general. But next time I'm bored and crave for some information, I should remember it...
And yeah, I too hate the idea of tobacco companies and/or government regulating and taxing weed. What would we get? Tobacco companies would want people to get addicted to weed, just like tobacco. And they would add all sorts of chemicals in it just like they do with tobacco. And I dont think they would care rats ass about different strains, they'd just sell one kind of weed, 2 max (sativa and indica) and we'd have to live with that.
But the best choise would be degriminalizing and letting people grow their own weed. Like 10 plants, or people would be allowed to have some amount of squarefoots for their plants, and they could have as many there as they want. Or something. That way people could smoke weed, and then the money would be out of bigger criminals' hands, and people wouldnt have to buy laced weed from a shady person. And I'm not talking about weed laced with other drugs (thats quite rare after all), I'm talking about people lacing weed with hairspray and very very small glass "sand" to make it weight more.
And I meant to ask in my previous post, but you dont happen to be Finnish? Since you said that in your country over 3,5% alcohol drinks can only be sold in one store and in Finland we have Alko for strong alcohol.

This isn't the Reagan era anymore. Why is it still illegal? It's not harmful to anyone's health, in fact it is being used in the medical field to help treat numerous diseases including Alzheimer's (along with other mental disorders), breast cancer, Brain cancer, opioid dependence, Lou Gehrig disease, and multiple sclerosis. It also improves the quality of life for many stricken with any of these horrible diseases including patients of HIV/AIDS and stomach cancer.
But even people that don't have a life threatening condition should be able to use marijuana. Thankfully I live in Cali and have a medical card. I've found my quality of life has improved tremendously. I sleep better, I eat better and have a more balanced diet, I no longer suffer from depression or OCD, and I know it depends on what you're smoking but I find myself doing better at school because I can relax and concentrate easier. Not to mention I have an extra source of income now.
I understand it doesn't work the same for everyone and I respect that. But people should have the right to be educated properly so that they may try and judge for themselves if marijuana is right for them or not.

Tl;dr this thread, but i think they should hit down harder on people smoking it. And maybe make it only medicinal, but you need a certifiate.. And i don't mean anything you could forge, i mean something complex.
I don't smoke the stuff, I know it has it's benefits, but seriously, i'm against it in general use.
I went to a school where like 50% of the people there were stoners, and they were idiots (they were beforehand i assume) and all it did to them was make them smell like arse, fuck around and be complete twats (now i'm kinda talking about three of them lel)
Now assuming i'd actually met people who weren't such dickwads who smoked it, i'd probably have a different opinion of it, but it's how i am. :/

It's all about the way it is consumed. Intake of marijuana by either pill form (Merinol) or vaporizer virtually eliminates any possibility of contracting any negative side effects in relation to smoking. As Merinol is only a pill loaded with cannabis oil and a vaporizer (If you haven't already guessed) only heats marijuana to it's "boiling" point. That means no combustion, no combustion mean no smoke, and no smoke means no toxins from tar or carbon monoxide. And since there are no carcinogens, there's no cancer. And I should mention that here in California most dispensaries sell cookies, brownies, and candy made with cannabis oil. Definitely the tastiest way to consume by far!

I'll just leave this here, then.
As for my personal opinion, I wholeheartedly feel that weed should not be decriminalized. I am so sick of hearing people support it with bullshit claims like "It isn't addictive!", "We could tax it!","Medical Purposes!", and the like.
Yes it is, Taxing it would cause an assload of problems, and for every legit cancer patient with a pain-killing buzz, there are a dozen potheads "calming their frazzled nerves, man. All natural".

I aware of vaps and the like. Didntknow about pills :o
Edibles are an option but most people who her high smoke the bud. I myself find a blunt the best way. They're just so rich, and so much bud :D
I'd have to agree, well that is as long as it's a Phillie. I prefer the old school method myself, but I was just pointing out there are safer alternatives to smoking if you want to avoid any negative effects. I should also point out that although there are possible side-effects when smoking(other than getting high), the level of physical danger is very low. Nowhere near the hazards of cigarettes, alcohol, or other drugs (such as heroine, crack cocaine, or analgesics).

You should know that Marijuana still has carcinogens and in the long run will have negative side effects one one's health. As much as I love weed, I find that most people who smoke weed have very little idea of what they're talking about :/

I would like to point out that I never implied that marijuana is on par with the likes of speed, rock and other heavier drugs. It should be known that a fatty joint of the dankest kush is by far less damaging to the body than a bottle of beer. Also, phillies are awesome, but as healthy as vapes are sometimes they don't cut it. In those times I just get my buddy to buy me some wraps and smoke a nice blunt. Seriously can you get higher than that? If you know a way then let me know

Sorry dude I wasn't trying to sound like an ass or anything.
But anyway, a well made vaporizer is the best way to get high as it allows the ganj to retain 99.9% of its THC content. I did take Marinol before (5Mg "balls"). That will seriously throw your shit through a loop, however I don't particularly like the feeling it gives me. But then again you'll just have to try it and see for yourself. You never know what the best thing for you is until you experiment, as everyone's bodies react to it differently.

Well I'm still 17, so I don't have my medical card. You know where I can get some of those pills?Well you HAVE to get a prescription for it unfortunately. Unless you buy from someone that has one already. I was lucky enough to buy some from a guy I met at the dispensary I deliver to. He sold his 5Mg's to me for about $15 a piece. Price differs on who you buy from obviously but I wouldn't recommend doing business with someone you don't know that well. But you most likely know that already if your an avid smoker. But it always pays to be 100% sure.

i think it should be legalized because its fairly harmless I've smoked and drank and honestly weed doesn't harm you nearly as much as drinking, drinking fucking knocks me on my ass. Last weekend i drank half a bottle of tequila and felt fucking horrible because it wouldn't allow me to sleep, i tried calling my friend for the antidote at 2am and apparently kept asking for catherines number so we could have sex and i dont even know her . At least weed makes me sleepy and the worst thing I've done high is a full body nair sesh which wasnt that bad.
