When is it inappropriate to be looking at anime?

The same adults who watch action movies, romantic comedies or TV sports think animes are childish. Delusional thinking.
And I say that despite the fact I don't watch animes myself.

I don't think you should blame anime if your to lazy to take care of your responsibilities...

I think anime in general is frowned upon by a lot of people. It's not the "norm" in our society (coming from someone who lives in the United States.). And most people who don't watch anime associate it with cartoons and thus associate it with adolescents.

Does it hurt anyone by you watching anime? No. But your father might think it's weird and would rather not have his son be doing it.

But fuck, man. Just do what makes you happy. Being happy is not something that's bad.

I'm sure even your dad could find at least ONE anime or manga that he would enjoy if he took the time to look. There are countless genres of manga and anime.

I do agree that anime is seen as just cartoons by many people, but it is actually worse for me, since at my department (Computer Science) there are a higher percentage of people interrested in anime. This might sound nice and all, but it means that people no interrested also have a small amount of knowlegde about anime, unfortuanly it means that now they think anime=hentai :(

Eh, the only animes I don't watch are ones I don't like, or Naruto and One Peice, because the Japanese intro's scare the **** out of my father.

Allow me, but Naruto's and Bleach's openings are quite stylish. I don't see why he would get scared.

If you have a job, then I don't see the problem. But if your dad is telling you to get off your ass and get one, then you may have to..

The Japanese opening in Naruto where they just kept screaming "RISE! THRUOSUP" and then threw in a random guitar solo or something, the scarred the crap out of him.

MM. I'm 21 as well and every once in awhile my mom's like: "you still like these comics?" or "why don't you read regular books...aren't these a little childish?" However, she's never said to stop reading them or stop watching anime, so I believe that she understands that it's a hobby for me. Although I think that she still feels that I'll grow out of it one day.

As long as you're working and/or going to school, there shouldn't be a problem--make some contact with the opposite sex as well.

As far as I know for now I'll be watching anime will I get bored of it or if it just doesn't fit my life style anymore. So if I'm 75 and still like it, so be it.

Screw what other people think.

There isn't any useful advice from a 19-year old, but there's one thing i know for sure..

You're living your life so, do what you think is right and try to enjoy yourself with the thing you love most..^^

And in the same time, try to work as well and balance between both of them..

no age limit at all for watching anime. my mom thinks i'm obsessed(i am.. but..) still, i love what i love, you can't stop me from watching it. well.. unless the manga-kas stop working... THEN i would literally spazz out...

Regarding your age of when you should stop watching anime, it really doesn't matter. It's what you enjoy. When my dad was 50 he was still watching Tom and Jerry. If you love anime, watch anime. Like others have said though, priority matters way more than age or whatever BS someone pulls on you.
