Which is better, believing in a god or not?

Myself is a non-believer, so i can say this.
Believing takes away time and to some people clears their head / Peace of mind.
But it also takes away time which can be used for something else.
It all varies on how much you go into it.
From a simple nightly prayer to church every service.

This is true. Despite calling myself a believer, I don't really pray or go to Church; I just do whatever.
lol, I'm such a lousy follower.

Then if you don't believe in one, what is controlling your body right now?
There are some things that we cannot explain further with science like the existence of ghosts, paranormal activity and superstitious belief.
You believe in the existence of mind, but yet you don't see your own mind. But you feel it.Just like souls,we can't see but we can feel it within our body. There are some things we cannot see with our eyes but yet, they exist.
I can see my mind with MRI, x-ray, and PET scans. My brain controls my body because if you cut the connections from the brain to the body you lose control. There is no proof for the soul, ghosts, or paranormal activity.
Since you probably still don't understand let me give you an example of how frustrating this is by mimicry:
There are wharflemen, pixi-unicorns, and flying spaghetti monsters near you. You can't see them but they are there because they made everything. They made your god and they made you. They are the true creators and they lied about your religion being the true one. Therefore, the proof is all around you. Science cannot explain these makers so it must be true.
If you disprove that, then I can use the same logic to disprove your claims because they are equally absurd.

I don't believe in a god myself but I think it's great that people believe in something. If they put all there faith in god and do nothing themselves hoping something will happen is just terrible. They have to put some effort in it at least to solve there own problems. As Kami said in Dragon Ball "If I solve one persons problems they will all come to me to solve them and do nothing themselves." (not word for word but you get it) The other people who try to force religion are just dicks. Let people be themselves and it will work out.As I heard from someone else "Non-existent until proven otherwise" I'm not saying there isn't one, but right now i see no reason to believe there is.

My honest opinion is to do what works for you. I believe in god, and, like you, I was raised as a Roman Catholic. As time went on, I questions the teachings they imposed and eventually found the Priest telling me at one point 'just do what you want; you know what your doing' (of course, I'm reitorating, but it was basically that). :/
I believe in god becuase I interpret the evidence provided by my experiences of life as something that makes more sense and is more coherent with god than without. If life makes more sense without god, to you, then be atheist by all means. *shrugs*
A major problem I keep finding with religious fanatics is that their too preachy and are unwilling to let people make their own mind, or at least a good portion that I've met have been like that. :(

What do you think suits you best, you should choose it.
If you think believing in a religion is pointless, then don't. Because no matter what people think if you are right or wrong, if you think it's pointless, then it will always be wrong.

For me, i believe in the existence of God. [No plural].
Mainly because if we question the creation of the world, what better answer will we get. Big Bang? Who made the materials for Big Bang? Who was the architect?
And other stuff like How the processes in the world look so simple yet are complicated as hell.
True, the more you see this, you'll end up at the point where you start questioning the God's Power. THAT, my friend, is where BELIEF and FAITH comes in. Only your heart can lead the way from there as logic is no longer a question for this topic.

I never understood why people seem to think it's easier to believe that there was some entity that created x y and z instead of thinking that x y and z was already there. You're still stuck with the question of who created god if someone has to create everything.

You're still stuck with the question of who created god if someone has to create everything.Well, X Y and Z couldn't have existed without being created. After all, we live an existence where everything has a definite beginning and a definite end. The problem with that is that it means at some point, nothing ever existed. That's why theories like the Big Bang exist. There was something that started everything, itself not started by anything else.
That creating force, itself uncreated, is what some people call "God".

supreme being?Everything has its beginning and the end.If everyone is creating everyone, there will be no beginning and ending. It's like you're trying to say that
a rope has no beginning and ending.
Let me tell you one true fact.
Our knowledge is limited.
Humans' knowledge are limited.
There are things you can't explain with science.
As for ghosts, well, you've never seen one.
Well, there are mystical parts in this world.
If you said ghosts are not real,my assumption is correct.
Human's knowledge is limited.
Because I've experienced once. And only I can be witness of the tragedy.
I'm not fooling you.Sincerely.
But if you still want to see God,ask for it.
Ask God.Yell at the beach or somewhere"I want to see God!"
Maybe He will show Himself to you.
Because only God can show His existence to humans.

No the wharflemen and pixi-unicorns are the supreme creators and they are the end and beginning. Disprove it! I will prove it to you: You want to see them go ask for it. Ask wharflemen and pixi-unicorns.Yell at the beach somewhere"I want to see warflemen!" Maybe They will show Themselves to you. Because only They can show Their existance to humans.
If you accept your God, then you must accept my wharflemen, after-all, the logic is the same.

I just did that and also a few years ago,and only my God show Himself and there's no your wharflemen coming.
And God said "Nor is there to Him any equivalent(or superior)."
See, your wharflemen are not coming.Only God showed to me proof of His existence.
I've already done it.Your turn.

Too bad you didn't record any evidence of it. How are you going to convince me that what you say is true without evidence? All I think is that you are deluded or lying.
Continuing with this foolish game:

You see where this is going yet? If you don't have proof you cannot convince anynone. If you don't have proof, anything else can be made up and be equally plausible. You try to convince me of God and yet Wharflemen seem to be true too.

This is my proof.Allah is God.
There is a language my Creators told me where the shape of my hand spells Wharflemen and Pixi-unicorns. Your hand is my proof.
Edit: I see you've deleted the original post. Proof: I'm not allowed to double post.
You do not have to believe in Allah to have happiness or meaning. The time we have on this Earth is limited and precious. There may not be an afterlife and Allah may not exist but does that invalidate the moral teachings of Islam? Decide for yourself how to live; there are no regrets when you live life by your own doing. Be the person you are, not for Allah's sake, but for your own.

Sorry,I thought the picture won't show up.Anyway, the picture showed up.
Like you've said,I believe we won't live forever and I believe we have the day of Judgement after death. This world is already in chaos.I've been betrayed. My family is in danger. Our brothers have been killed. The only way we survived is by the guidance of God.There is no eternal happiness in this world.
It depends on you if you want to believe. In Islam,we have no force in faith.
Let you decide.I'm not forcing you to believe.I just hope you understand. We stand strong in our belief. And always be.
Note:I've done your advice before you even give this advice. And I regret it.
And someday you will.

From your post it seems you blame yourself for tragic events which happened when you did not believe. I will not go further as it seems this is a futile en-devour not worth my time. Just remember, without real proof you cannot truly convince anyone of Allah and Wharflemen or any other crap can convince people the same way.

It's not worth time for me either.Peoples like you have already been mentioned in the Quran.Asking proof for God's existence and such.I should have realized such thing.
There are reasons why God won't show His true form.
But I can't explain. It's not in my information.

I believe that a bit of both is good. You don't wana be so engrossed in beliveing in a god that you don't think for yourself what is right and wrong, but people do need hope.
Personally, i don't have a religion. I know that there is a god, since SOMETHING had to create everything. Whether it is a all knowing, all powerful god, or something that just started everything, i don't know. Im fine with either, as long as i get to live my life to the death.

I stopped caring about religion. It only caused arguments, got me in trouble with my family, and never really gave me any enlightenment on who is right on what is god. Plus i felt like they were all cults trying to make me convert from my original religion (that I have stop practicing). But i think there is a god, he might just like pretending to be many things to different people.
There is a god, only RELIGION is wrong, plus jesus might have been mentally derange thinking he was the son of a god.

I feel like there's more benefits to believing in God. Simply because if you believe in God you can assimilate with most people rather well. The same could be said about anyone, but if religion ever comes up and people find out you're Atheist, all of a sudden you become an outcast. I know because I've been there, and once it happened I had to change schools just because people behave so differently around you. And before you give me that associate with other Atheists bullshit, how many Atheist people do you know? I knew one guy in HS, and I really didn't care for that guy. That's why I just pretend to believe in God now. Makes things easier
