Console for me as well, I could care less for mods, Vanilla is always enough for me, and I don't feel like a neckbeard. =]

Not gonna argue, but just wondering why you are so willing to pay more (seeing how console games tends to be more expensive) or at least as much, but get way less for your money? It defies reason. Not only mods, but the very way the game engine works makes it less compatible with a gamepad than with a mouse/keyboard.
So you do not only get less and something that can not be easily fixed if it is bugged (as it can on PC), it also do not have controls that are fitting for these kinds of games...
Argh, it's too illogical.

Because people aren't elitist's and don't give a shit.
Company's are smart and obviously know this and push "piracy" as a convenient excuse for the prices.

All modern games (PS3 and 360) can be patched, and normally are the same time (sometimes before) as the PC counter parts. And as for not having controls to fit the games....up goes up and the hitty button hits. What more would you really need? Most games like this even let you hot key the controller for things.

Will probably pick this up for my PS3. Before you say I should get it for the PC, my PC probably won't be able to handle the game, and I don't really care much for modding, but then again I've not tried it out too much...oh well

Interesting.
Now all we have to do is know if it will still be using the old broken engine in Oblivion, Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

Well, even after Oblivion was just released Bethesda said themselves that the main flaws of the game was technical and that they would focus on sorting the engine out, so I'd be surprised if it's not significantly better.

Indeed. Midas Magic, that one is full of lol =D
Take a look at these otherwise, best weeaboo mods out there imho. Finally you feel badass, like a hero, not like some regular NPC with badly fit equipment.

Meh, my opinion is already horribly biased because I've only played Oblivion on the 360. Granted I don't have a ton of respect for the modding community, but to me if you have to mod a game to make the game enjoyable, the game isn't enjoyable.
That might be overly simplistic and linearist though, but if a game isn't worth playing without being modded, the game isn't worth owning to begin with.

Well, the game WAS once worth playing without modding. It's definitely an enjoyable game even as vanilla. But once you've started modding you realize how much it can be "improved." Not all mods improve the game per ce, but some changes are nice just because change is nice sometimes, and when you grow bored of the changes you can either alter it back again or go on to find something new.

I think I'm with both sides of this conversation. I always get Bethesda games for console first (Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fallout NV) because I prefer playing with a controller, sitting in front of my tv and party chatting with my friends while I play. I'll do everything there is to do. Then a year or two later when I want to play again I'll find it for sale for PC and mod the crap out of it. It's not that I don't enjoy vanilla, it just makes it a whole new experience in just about every way.
There are plusses to both sides depending on how you like to play.

No one said it wasn't worth playing without modding, just that modding makes the game so much more.
We can flip the words around and say it like this instead; there is nothing that makes the console versions better than the PC version, but there is only things that make the PC version better than the console version.
