Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

[font=Verdana][color=green]I have absolutely no interest in this game.
I played Oblivion VIII on Xbox and PC; both versions were questionable. Unless this game is completely different from the fourth title, I won't buy it. I can name three games that I'll buy before this one; KIllzone 3, Guild Wars 2 and Portal 2. Guild Wars 2 is more relative to the current discussion; the reason I prefer it is because it's a MMO. Gives a better community feel.
Modded or not, I couldn't care less.

I'll get back to you when a game called Oblivion VIII exists. Until then, try not to say anything stupid.

While i kinda hated Oblivion, i was still much more enjoyable than bullsh*t Fallout 3. And since i loved Morrowind/Daggerfall, then it's probably a buy for me. On PS3 of course since my PC can't even run Morrowind lol.

Oh sheeet i can't wait for dat game. The trailer is epic, look at those awesome and powerful reliefs barely moving. Oh my GOD i can feel the power! I was totally horny when at the end of the trailer he said DRAGONBALL, WOW Goku must be the main character(>9000 power)who will save Skyrim for sure!

The Elder Scrolls V will still use the Gamebryo engine from most sources. Although it is using an engine called Gamebryo Lightspeed (FEATURING DX10 GRAPHICS... I think)
My thoughts on Skyrim is basically this. I hated Oblivion, I went and gave Arena and Daggerfall a try and at my mouse and keyboard, I then played Fallout 3 and was highly impressed, then waited for New Vegas and had a wonderful blast with a product made by Black Isle Vets (And further proved to myself that "A group of Black Isle Vets=Awesome game... well maybe... the history of Obsidian is questionable from what I hear) and then Skyrim comes up and I am then reminded of the SC2 teaser trailer where Zeratul is in the Protoss ruins looking at prophecies etched into walls and hinting at the plot of SC2 as a whole.
Basically Skyrim has VERY LOW expectations from me. Oblivion was never that big or amazing. Sure it was a huge open world but then what? When I first played this I kinda liked. As the years went by and I kept trying to force myself to play it I had the utmost realization, "This isn't the game everyone makes it sound to be." Sure modding exists for this game but even if the game can be modded but that's kinda like saying I can cut and edit an Uwe Boll film to be better. Sure you do a nice job but the film you edited was still crap!
When I played Fallout 3 I found it to be such a vast improvement I hoped Bethesda payed attention to the lessons of FO3. When New Vegas came out I then shunned some of the stuff in 3 and hoped Bethesda learned something from New Vegas. Know my luck though, they learned very little at all and just made Fallout 3 to be a Real Time-First Person interpretation of Fallout 3 rather than saying "Damn, the way these games played out as an RPG beats our games any day."
I'm at this point in my life tired of ranting about Oblivion. I've done this for close to two years now, even trying to write an article of some form for some website, but the issue is that I can't. Nostalgia keeps telling me that deep down in their hearts Bethesda had the right idea for the game it's just they didn't execute properly in Oblivion. I keep being told over and over to play Morrowind but I am reluctant to do so.
*Sigh* At this point I just wanna bury the hatchet so I'll list my hopes for Skyrim:
-Give characters more personality than just random NPC that is here to be here. Most NPC's I met were just That Townsperson, That Count, That Mage ETC. Make the That NPC's that can't be talked to and have more NPC's with more personality
-Mages need a big time buff. Give mages the ability for a spell to target an NPC and then give a stat that affects a spell tohit
-Give more lore of the world. I always found the lore of The Elder Scrolls to be a bit lacking. I'd love it if Bethesda could build up on lore rather than (I assume they do this) make the next chapter to the franchise and make little reference to previous games. From what I can tell, Skyrim is a sequel to Oblivion and so the game may take certain aspects of Oblivion and expand on it.
-VAMPIRES AND WEREWOLVES! Make them feel more like some monster the player has become, not an stat boost with minor inconveniences. And don't forget Werewolves dammit. Hell go the extra mile and allow players to become a Lich.

After the land of Dunmers and the Imperials its time for savage and brave Nords...
I hope that Deadra shrines will be present. After playing TES III and IV, I will gladly play the "Skyrim".But I will buy it in GOTY edition.

I hope they bring back levitation, mark/recall. those were the spells i used most in 3, and it pissed me off that they weren't in 4. that and no equivalent to Creeper in oblivion. that dude made me rich in 3.

Yeah, I too miss the levitation spell, I guess mark and recall isn't really useful anymore now that the fast-travel system exists, but I'd rather they removed that and went back to mark/recall.
I have hopes that they'll go back to the earlier games in more was than one. First, I'd like to see the poorly written and acted dialogs disappear completely, and go back to having only text, if not, they can do as many other games have done throughout the years: Voice only a few parts of the conversation, and get a few more voiceactors, or at least some that are skilled enough to change their voice.
Then lockpicking, what's up with that? Sure, I loved being able to open any lock in the game with 5 in lockpick, but that's not really how it's supposed to work right?
Fast travel; as mentioned before I don't really like the entire idea of fast travel, I'd rather have mark and recall and some more ways to move around by paying a small sum of gold except the mages guilds, like the Silth Strider or boats.
The one thing that I am quite psyched about is the possible introduction of the Falmer (Snow Elves) that supposedly is the original inhabitants of Skyrim, before they were more or less wiped out by the Nords. At the very least I hope for an appearance like the Dwemer in Morrowind.
Overall: I'm terribly psyched about this game, hell, it's the Elder Scrolls, how could I NOT be psyched? Albeit this, I'm very skeptical that it'll turn out to be improved. Since the guy (forgot the name, lead writer I think?) stated "Fantasy for me is about riding 'round on a horse, killing stuff" I've kinda given up hope that they'll ever do good games again.

Recommend joining a bethesda forum and check out what they say about mods there first, cuz if ur not careful you'll just crash the game and have to redo it all again.

The only thing good about Bethesda games is the source kit. when they release the Skyrim dev set, I will be all over that shit making loli characters.
With the amount of time they've had to improve the game, especially after Fallout 3... I am expecting Skyrim to be a masterpiece, if it isn't I'm going to rape the head dev of Bethesda Softworks and Tricon myself.

Hmm? To install that file, all you should have to do is install the Oblivion Mod Manager, extract the omod file that is in the mod rar, load into the manager and click install. Shouldn't be so hard.
Anyway, TESNexus is good, both for finding mods and the forum, but I recommend the official forums as well: http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/forum/87-iv-oblivion/, the community is kind and helpful, and there are lots of explanations on how to install the mods. Also, READ THE README FILES, they usually has all the instructions needed.
Sorry if I won't make a complete guide for you right now, was just out and my fingers are frozen solid, can't type well >,

Spoiler:
i'd like to see a combo of personal mounts and public transit. it would be nice to have a horse for short trips out into the bush, but the public transit to jump from town to town.
i prefer exploits to mods. mods have a tendancy to screw with too many other things over time. some of my favorite exploits in 3 were being able to sell anything to creeper, the combo of the saints hide curias and the boots of blinding speed, and the soul gem shuffle.
i didn't play 4 long enough to find many exploits.

Hmm, well, that is pretty much it. Make sure the file is activated inside Obmm. Guess you can go into Data Files from the Oblivion Launch menu and check there as well. But as I said, the real forums are prob a better help than me.

I suppose everyone here have seen the announcement trailer? Ever thought closer about the words they're singing?
The day before yesterday GameInformers revealed the cover for their February issue, featuring a huge Akatosh emblem on the front, and some weird runes on the back, these runes are apparently the lyrics written in some sort of dragonic language, on their site they also started up a puzzle; to translate the back of the cover, this is supposed to give you some insight in the plot of Skyrim.
The translation puzzle
Since I have too much spare time anyway I figured I'd translate it, and I guess it was rewarding enough, it might not reveal to much, but enough to make me speculate about the plot.
The poem/song/whatever the fuck it is:
