Well well, I never said anything about being a hero...because to me trying to be a hero, as Shiro imagined it, is self-contradictory. What I'm saying is that in that particular case Shirou's decision was wrong since considering what Sakura did, be it she's sane or not, she doesn't deserve any salvation.

Question. Maybe I've missed something, but...

As it known from the prologue, Rin was watching archery club training for a while and recently stopped (dialogue with Ayako). Was it connected with the fact that Shirou left the club?
Also, what was the meaning of Rin's "Why it has to be you?" (finding Shirou near-dead in the school).
She was watching him for a while or something?

It seems like I was falling asleep during nighttime play with auto-read-on.

And yeah, she probably did watch him in the Archery club, but she was also watching Sakura. I don't think it's explicitly said why she stopped coming, but she did come to the club in the prolog for a bit still.

Being absent for several days, I feel saddened that I was unable to take part further in the discussion on Heavens Feel. Reciting what others have said, we could debate and discuss the moral implications of Heavens Feel compared to other arcs, but no converting will ever take place. HF was a wonderful conclusion to Fate Stay Night.

My desired to defend HF has waned due to my absence, but yet the tale doesn't need to be defended. It's a mature, gritty take on the concepts of being a hero and asks a question that all of us have to tackle at one point in our lives:

Just how far are you willing to go, for tomorrow?

Through my searchings, I have found a wonderful review of HF. It does a great job at defending the moral standings in the story and also drives home the message that Heavens Feel was meant to be a mature tie-in for all the loose ends in the story. Fans of HF will want to read this.
Indepth review or Heaven's Feel

Also, fans of Heavens Feel will want to play the doujin game by Werk titled Battle Moons Wars 1-4. I had a chance to play it recently and liked it because it brought just about every Type-Moon character together into one grand adventure. Also, it runs with Heavens Feel as the "canon" ending for Fate Stay Night, so you get further progression between Shirou and Sakura. Here is the link for that.

5 routes? whoa, tell me what's the other 2!

lol jk. and about the last episode...it's not in the pc version of the game. it's only in the ps2 one...and if you want it anyway, you need to use a patch...

That's only in the PS2 version. For the PC version you need Waku Waku's patch.

Just finished the final storyline and wanted to go over a few of the plot details... mostly whether or not the background is consistent between the three paths.

Spoiler 1: The differences and unification of Fate and UBW
Spoiler:

The key difference between Fate and UBW seems to be whether or not Shinji gets access to Gilgamesh or not.

The relationship between Shirou and Rin affects when and where the confrontation with Rider is (which in turn is dependent upon Archer's health.) In Fate, the final showdown with Rider is on day 10, but in UBW it's on day 7. Once this is determined, it will affect whether Berserker or Caster comes into dominance.

Also it seems that the life Archer experienced was that of the Fate storyline. If he has the cruelty to kill himself he should be able to withstand his lost ally from UBW/HF, but perhaps he is vulnerable to his lost lover from Fate. Archer's parting words in UBW suggest that with Rin's intervention he might not become the jaded vessel of hate that he ended up as.


Spoiler 2: The discontinuity of Heaven's Feel
Spoiler:
The first question that comes to mind is, "If Rider is incredibly weak while under Shinji's control, then how can she use her Noble Phantasm in the Fate storyline?" It was explicitly stated in HF that she couldn't.

Second question is what is preventing the shadow from rampaging and taking control during Fate/UBW? Is the fact that she's out of Zouken's proximity at Shirou's place that allows the shadow to rampage?


So... is my first assessment correct, and is there a rectification for my second statement?

Overall, amazing story, I'm very happy with it. I'm interested in Fate/Hollow, but at the same time very nervous. I like the characters of FSN and would hate to see even more horrible things happen to them.

It all comes down to Archer, really. It's a no brainer, as this is THE choice that changes the routes.
The first big change, is that Archer (if I remember correctly) killed Berserker at the graveyard (and if not killed, badly wounded). This caused Ilya to not come out to the forefront as much, and that made Caster be less worried about her, and allowed her to gather more energy and be more bold in her actions.

As far as HF goes:

To me, the fact that Rider died quickly in HF caused Zouken to take drastic measures, and that was the main trigger. As you said, in the other routes Rider dies after a week or more, and it's too late to do anything at that point.

When Shinji had Rider in HF at first, he was a fresh master, and Rider was week because of it. In the other routes, it looks like she managed to regen some energy over that time.
And I don't recall any conversation about Rider not being able to use her Bellophon. Yeah, later Sakura was in pretty bad shape, due to the influence of Angra Manyu (spelling), but since that influence didn't manifest in the other routes, it was fine enough.

I skimmed over the "the truth about sakura" scene again, which is where I remember determining that her Phantasm was locked when not under Sakura's control, but I guess that was just my own interpretation, not canon detail.

BTW What's the tiger stamps for in the ED section?I've been using a walkthrough so i don't get a bad end.And is it possible to watch and epilogue again not repeating the game?

You get the tiger stamps for viewing a tiger dojo when you die. They're generally comic relief commentary on the plotline and just say "go back and choose differently", but some of them have serious gameplay tips, like how to get the different endings.

In any event, you should go through with a walkthrough (preferably the Flowchart.pdf included in the translation) and make sure you watch all of them, because some of them are really funny.

Huhuhu it's so unfair!I wanna kill the one's that thought of this ending.Such a sad ending waiting for Shirou for many many springs to fulfill there promise.Seriously made me cry T_T,there love here was unrewarded.
