Thanks, I was starting to lose momentum and hope with the game.I rest reassured.
If you're talking about the Corridors for each level and the lack of exploration let me save you the trouble. That's the whole game, the only thing that really changes late game is your ability to change your party and a "FEW" small exploration options, most of the side quests are also completely random and a waste of time so i didn't do any of them since they weren't interesting in the least.
All that aside, game is still good if you don't mind the lack of open world exploration and side quests, the characters grow on ya.
Small? SMALL? Gran Pulse is fucking huge. Hell it acts like a REAL environment. And theres like 60 something side quest. And what you don't find interesting other people easily can find interesting.

60 side quests, many of which are short and completely random. In many Final Fantasy games the side quests would have interesting side plots that still tied in with the main story but the FF13 ones are very out of place. And yes what i don't find interesting other people can find interesting, and what you find interesting other people can find monotonous, let's just agree to disagree.
Also let me reword, i think the open world options are limited yes gran pulse is sizable but it's like they took a step backward compared to old titles. You can't compare the amount of side quests/activities in this game to what was present in older titles, but that wasn't there aim in this game. The Aim was to experiment with a new kind of RPG, something different from what they normally do, i fully support that and i did finish this game overall i found it to be enjoyable. I'm pointing out things i didn't like about the game.

I'm looking forward to it anyway.
It's the just the problem I'm having so far is I'm not getting the opportunity to design my own team and build my characters up in my own way. I always end up maxing out the Sphere grid thingy.
I love that fact that you only have to control 1 person and the AI seem to be pretty smart.

According to sources the best team is Hope and Fang, between the both of them i believe they cover pretty much every class in the game. The third party member is up to preference, i had Sazh in there because everyone else is about as interesting as an ice cube ESPECIALLY SNOW (SEE WHAT I DID THAR?!)

Here is my current layout.
I plan on training lightning up to become a Sentintel, I find that If I don;t bring a Sentinel I tend to get overwhelmed when there is a large number of enemies.
Vanille is using a healers Staff. Sazh is a my Synergist, I normally start with him as Synergist and have him give everyone haste before I change.
Any suggestions? Sorry about the pic quality.

Don't see a commando on that list broski??? Also yeah it's a good idea to have Sazh on Syner, if you can afford it do libras on the trash you fight (Scans carry over) the AI will automatically cast the appropriate elemental damagers (Enthunder, Enfire etc) it makes your commandos hit like Bruce Lee.

Well, we need approximately two medic for the late game and Sazh is a bit useless if you not control him since he won't use his Blitz things(so, Hope can substitute him for a bigger damage).
My team is light,Vanille,and Hope
All of them can use medic and ravager and actually we rarely need more than one commando.
One is clear, we don't need Snow .

This game is TOO easy. I'm surprised there are people that find this game challenging... Hell. I finished it but it was EXCRUCIATING. Thank god I borrowed it. No character is likeable and Sazh was kinda emo :|.
