Alrighty. I'm trying to avoid abusing spotpass, and I don't have any DLC (I got the game after it returned to costing money, sadly), so I'll try to make due with my current stuff. At least until I get sick of it and run out of strategies. I'll keep that in mind, though. And thank you. ^^

I finally got the game and the handheld and yeah it is even better than the FE 7 & 8 titles. I am glad I bought it.

However, I feel quite noobish with the spotpass & streetpass thing, could anyone give some insight about it please? I have checked all their options and looked at the (I suppose) DLCs at the Nintendo e-Shop, but I am not sure how all that work.

On higher difficulties spotpass characters only give 1 exp and risen boxes cost an arm and half your soul. Even on lunatic you can definitely win with good planning and no grinding.

Some general tips include:
Your primary focus should be on getting Chrom/MU leveled as they should be your STRONGEST GEN1 units. Your Perk/Weakness choice can be important.

Fred should not have the lions share of the exp, he should weaken foes for others to pick off whenever possible

Pair up is a huge boon and you should remember what each pairing gives stat wise

Do not be afraid to use your items, but don't use them recklessly (IE don't use a vulnerary when your unit has 1 damage unless absolutely necessary)

Thanks for the anwser but, I think I am a bit lost here. I mean, I believe I am in Chapter 7, so I might be missing a lot of things that appear later in the game.

For instance, I dont know who "MU" is and I suppose GEN1 stands for the first generation of characters.

Regarding Fred, he doesnt have yet the share exp skill, however, he hits like a truck and normally when I combine him with other weak characters like Miriel or similar, he ends up doing a lot of killing blows hitting for 15+ when enemies have about 15~20 hps. =/

MU is "My unit" and is generally the strongest character in the first generation bar none.

As a general tip you should give Fred as little exp as possible, Fred's a character made to help you get by but suffers from poor base stats and lower scaling. (Granted this matters LESS in Awakening)

What difficulty are you playing on?

Ok, so MU is my avatar.

Fred is only lv 2 after a +12 combats, I am trying him to get the less possible exp.

I am not sure what difficulty I am playing, I believe is Normal Classic. Not sure how the difficulty change the game experience over the combats.

On normal you can do anything you want really, reeking boxes become a valid way to farm, character choice doesn't matter really. Just do what your gut tells you and get used to the gameplay.

As the modes get harder the enemies start getting a lot tougher. Lunatic+ has levels that are completely RNG-reliant due to enemies spawning with certain skills in addition to dangerous stats.

Woah, ok, I will have that on mind once I have finished the game once and start on those difficulties.

God damn this game. I still have all the street passes from AX last July. That map gets filled up real quick. All these perfect maxed out 2nd gen units. Dafuq yo!!!!

My 3DS is the FE:A one. Though, Im still pissed I missed out on preordering the game and in turn the artbook.

First game of the series I've ever played. 30 hours to finish normal. Halfway through Hard now with the best character in the game, my female lead.

I beat the game in 33 hours on hard, classic mode with my female charecter and I must say it is my favorite 3DS game ever (even better than Pokemon X/Y!) I am 4 hours into lunatic and it is crazy, I have to soft reset 3 or 4 times per level D:

Kinda want to go on a lunatic hardcore run but I'll probably end up throwing my 2ds against the wall so I'll pass.

Eh it's doable. At least in comparison to the bs that is Lunatic+ T.T
Also 2ds o.e wouldn't be much of a loss.
