I'm trying my hardest to force Chrom and Sumia, and Lissa has been getting very close to Virion. My main seems to be lonely though. She doesn't seem like any of the male cast, and I can't blame her :/
My first time through, I paired my Tactician (custom character) with Chrom by accident. The result was incredibly overpowered kids. I'm playing through again on a harder difficulty, but I'm doing it a bit differently.
I'm still pairing the Tactician with Chrom, but I changed the Tactician's boosted stat. She's now got a boost to her Skill stat. I'm gonna get her to Level 10, then reclass her to a Thief. Then, I'm going to try to get her to Level 20, promote her to an Assassin, get her to Level 5 or higher, and pair her with Chrom before the kids appear. If you're wondering why, it's because at Level 5, Assassins gain the Lethality skill (insta-death). All skills have their activation rate based on the Skill stat, which I gave my Tactician a boost to. In turn, she'll pass this on to her kids with Chrom, as well as the Lethality skill. One of their kids will inherit Chrom's skill Rightful King, while the other has to earn it by leveling up (they both get it, and Chrom doesn't need to have it to pass it on to his kids). Rightful King adds 10% to the activation rates of all Skills... which means that Lethality is going to happen A LOT more than normal. On top of this, Chrom and the Tactician both give great growth rate and stat bonuses to their kids, making those kids pretty overpowered anyway. The boosted Critical Hit Ratio and skill activation rate is just the icing on the death cake.
I also just like having Chrom and the Tactician paired together. It adds in a few cute moments that wouldn't normally be there, and changes up some of the dialogue later in the game. Their Support conversations are pretty funny, too... but they make me feel kinda sorry for Chrom XD

I already had an S Rank support for Chrom and Sumia by Chapter 4. Grinding on those DLC maps, buahahaha.

Ha. No. The DLC maps were what I used to grind my unit to a usable lvl for lunatic. Speaking of which, I'm now maxed out all my stats for him. Suppose I should reclass and learn some new skills like he says.

I found the End Game chapter far too easy, to be honest. I used my Boots on Lucina, and since my Tactician was her mother, she could reclass to anything. I did, at one point, make her a thief and later an assassin for the Movement +1 and Lethality skills. I ran over to the final boss with Chrom riding on Lucina's back. Killed it in one round :P

Lunatic here so ya. Just waiting for EXPonential growth to get the rest of the Shepards units at scale with MU. Then again, perhaps if I just get Chrom to max potential that'll be enough.

Yeah, really you just need Chrom and/or Lucina to just run past all the enemies and attack the boss. For me, Lucina had ridiculous evasion, resistance, and defense, so things rarely hit her, and what did hit her usually couldn't hurt her.
And having Chrom with A-support paired up with her would boost the likelihood of him defending her to like, 75%
