Just played the demo and I liked it.
As a Metal Gear game of course it isn't what's expected and is in no way going to top the MGS games, but just as a game it's good. It relies heavily on the combat which is the best part about it. It's really satisfying doing all those crazy moves. I will be buying it but not on release. It's not a game I would pay £40 for.

Buying this, not because it's Metal Gear franchise, but the fact it's fun as all hell, and I don't care for the storyline this time around. Well, I might, Kojima's name is somewhere on it, he could've salvaged a respectable story from it..

I'm still dropping on the collectors edition, but only for the xbox... Platinum games usually fair better on the xbox than on the ps3... [case in point, practically everything made by them so far...]

After pressing one button or just a direction in other games, this feels weird at first. The window is pretty small from what I've seen, but when Raiden blocks/parries, you got it right.

I get it right sometimes,but i find consistently pulling them off...difficult. Not sure why the action button isn't used for it, since it does zilch in combat

Yeah, it gets very tough and being consistent isn't easy yet. But keep in mind this is only a demo and we have a small moveset, I heard there is a proper dodge command for unlocks in the full game.

The new trailers got me even more hyped up about this game.
As a game of it's own, it's really going to be a good one.
I won't be able to pick it up on release, but it will be worth the wait.

I've retitled the thread and given it a new picture. I thought that since there's so many people posting in here with hype perspectives it'd be dickish to leave this thread as only a rant thread. It was originally made for discussion anyway, so now it's the "Rant and Love Corner", where everyone can rant about and/or love this game.

We got Blade Mode Cancels :D
After hearing about this yesterday, I literally spent two hours in the demo coming up with some combos. Also some stuff the demo doesn't tell you:
Forward Forward + Weak Attack is a launcher, Forward Forward+Heavy Attack is a rushing impale move, Forward Back + Weak is an energy blast, and Forward Back + Strong is 360 breakdancing sword spin move. Pretty slick if I do say so myself.

This is why I don't like CQ combat online (if for some odd reason MGSR had online lol), This Is how I'd imagine the new god of war game will be. nothing but stun moves and blowback attacks.

I noticed some commands in this game, and I'm sure it's been mentioned. This is from the Demo.
Forward-forward + Weak Attack = Launcher
Weak Attack-Delay-Weak Attack = Launcher
Forward-forward + Strong Attack = Stinger
Backwards-forwards + Weak Attack = Palm Strike
Backwards-forwards + Strong Attack = Quick-Sword Revolution attack
360 Motion + Strong attack = Multiple Sword Revolution attack
Parrying an attack correctly on time causes Zandatsu, a powerful and automatic counter-attack, I'm unsure if you're invincible during this.
I figured out BMC'ing a bit back, didn't think it was a big deal, I always enjoyed doing Palm Strike -> Stinger as a finisher. This game is pretty fun though.
