Use a fire Att weapon
like Peco hammer or invest in a switch axe.

Body slam - Try to avoid it OR roll into it for less damage
Poison egg - Run away from the area (About 20ft)

Poison body slam - You'll have about 3 seconds to dodge/Run, Bring antidotes just in case

Ceiling attack - Run about 60ft away from it when his on the ceiling (Gunners too)
Charge - Simply move to the left or right (which ever has movement room)
Egg lay - Either use Large barrel bombs or attack the chest. (LargeBarrel x2 + small barrel x2 = nice amount of dmg. Killed a barioth while sleeping doing this)

Wall attack - Look at it at all times when hes on the wall/Ceiling


Lastly, PAY ATTENTION to its hands/wings. Find the back and attack that if you dont feel safe attacking the front.

Barioth is too quick for it's humongous size...any weakness?

I beat it with a switch axe but anything that's fast and has a fire Att is fine.
Go a few practice rounds with it to get a feel for its speed and dodging it should be simple. Only weapon types I don't recommend are Hammers, Great swords, and Sword and shields. Shock traps and bombs work well too and are extremely fun to use when its sleeping lol.

Its Area run order is normally 6,2,3,7 or 1,2,3, and when weak 6 to sleep on the upper area.

If you cant get out of the blast radius of its ice ball thingy bring 10 cleaners just in case or simply run like hell. Never pursue, let it come to you while your dodging. If its wing attack goes left GO RIGHT and in vise versa. Attack the sides and back/tail until your able to hit its head. When you knock it down, unleash utter hell on its face then roll out of the way. Last but not least, this fight is more based on luck than skill and ALWAYS look at it when its on a wall or in the air.


Cheap area 1 method: If your in this area and dont want to waste potions. Paintball it then run to your tent and take a nap. run back and continue fighting.

Oh...crap...I'm using barroth full set....-15 ice resistance...what set are you using?

Im using Rathalos/Helios armor right now but I used Ingot armor with Lagi vambraces

Beat a rathalos without dying...yeah!!!...can't win against diablos and barioth though...

Hmmm ratahlos was a pain but easy to beat now....I havn't been playing due to extreme heat and lack of motivation but I'll hop back on the bandwagon I get back home...hurray for not being home.

I got HR35 today and a few new weapons. I plan on getting rathian+ and rathalos+ armor so barioth and dia dont completely rape me.

damn...only hunter rank 3 right now...Btw...I found that since the room is for 4 people the monster's strength is also multiplied...anyway to face them just like the offline level?

Got this game a week ago, and boy its fun.

I'm a little annoyed though when i'm playing online multiplayer.
When an online multiplayer quest is halfway or moreso done, i always disconnect.
Anyone know any fixes?

COuld be a problem with your wireless router or something ingame thats just a guess

Nah, it turned out something was wrong with the servers today.
A lot of other people d/ced plenty of times, but i guess the storm died down now.

fighting online alone means you need to make for the missing teammates. you still can but its much harder and dont even try elite quest(HR31+) alone. you'll most likely die in a couple of hits due to theres a low rank armor set and a high rank armor set. You'll need high rank if you want to even survive elite quests.

Maybe they missed the 4am tuesday server reboot or something

I can't access other player's room....that is annoying...the power multiplication of the monsters is scary...I use volt axe...2 hits to kill ludroth offline, 3 hits online. Offline Royal Ludroth is like 10 minutes, online is like 30 minutes...

Well i cleared an offline mission where you must kill Dos Jaggi and Barot or Borat whatever it's called +additional kill of pecco, took me only 15 min. Too scared to go online due to possibility of my WII getting broken simply because i just softmodded my WII and i'm not sure if it's possible to go online at all now.

P.S. Yeah i know softmodding and playing backups is a serious business but i just couldn't hold it anymore with Fatal Frame 4 getting an english patch for modded consoles and Muramasa not being released in EU *at least i haven't seen it in any shop*

Giant Jaggi and a Barroth...that took me 20 minutes...I'm not really good at facing barroth...

Ugh I wan to play sooooo badly but something keeps coming up everytime I sit down to play....I had the console on yesterday and ohhhhh had to go to the mall then the courthouse...the fate conspire against me or something :(

It ain't worth it. Monster Hunter Tri isn't as great as 2. Its missing probably the fact that 2 you can physically see friends while people who play 3 only play online. Wii also doens't do it enough justice...
