Warner Bros. could be following EA's example and introducing an online pass for its upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot.

An internal email intended for retailers leaked to Joystiq reveals the move, although Warner Bros. is believed to be keeping the online registration code close to its chest, not mentioning it in pre-release marketing or on the game's packaging.

The one-use registration code unlocks online play and without it players will have to pay 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live or $10 on PSN to access online features. Warner Bros. is believed to be pursuing this policy for its future releases, which include F.E.A.R 3 and Batman: Arkham City.

IGN is currently awaiting confirmation and comment from Warner Bros. on the story.

Apparently the secret character is cyborg Sub Zero. Some thoughts have been that since the game is going back in time to the beginning but having some changes in the plot, some are saying Smoke was the one that escaped and Sub Zero was the one that was captured hence Sub Zero being a Cyborg and Smoke being human in this game. Looks interesting and will give him a try, but definitely going to main Noob Saibot. So badass looking. Scorpion also looks great but going to go with Noob instead. If I pick up any female character, going to be Jade. She looks hot in this one, imo the best out of the 3 ninja girls in this one.

Someone put up the announcer voices and the intros for the fighters.

The video has a higher pitch/sped up voice, so some may sound off. This is NOT what they are supposed to sound like in the actual game.

So, seeing as this is a little more than a week from release, anybody know if 360 users are going to get the demo before then or will we have to wait until the release to play the game?

I feel bad for you if you are on the xbox.You already have to pay 60$ for xbox live,now 3rd party companies want to charge you 10$ to play on their server's? WOW,what has the world come to.

It is used to fight against the used game industry. Used games give Gamestop all the profits and the developers/publishers get none. I am curious as to how Arkham City is planning on using it... since the game is just base on a single-player and nothing else.

Also, PSN has developers pay for the servers meanwhile XBL has the players pay for the servers, so it stops old games from not having online anymore. Wouldn't doubt it if a game like COD4 is next. It is also a reason why the original Xbox still had online after all these years and the servers for them ended some time ago. PSN can easily just take out the servers on COD4 for example. Not the same case with XBL.

Why would developers pay for it?Its like having you pay for my stuff.gamestop serves as the middle man welcome to the business world.

They should release it for the PC if they say it's easy to convert the Unreal Engine 3 code to the PC controls.

Someone has to pay for the servers, one reason why PSN is free and XBL is not. Some titles on PSN don't have online anymore, even if there were still a good number of people. On XBL, even dead games like KOF 98UM still has online activated.

well,i don't know what else to say.I love Sony and i will still buy their products till i die.

I don't mean it as anything else besides information. People just have to know the facts and reasons why some things are going on, same with the online pass.

Exactly, don't see the big deal of buying it used since GS is bound to put the price at $55 used anyway. The online pass is a bit too steep and makes used games sort of useless.
