OMG...I just got the game yesterday, and you guys already reached that far??...Just don't forget to put spoiler tag when you're talking about the story ok?... :P Anyway..I want to know about P4 Dating system...So..which girl is the main character official Girlfriend??...can you do all of them, or just one of them??
I'm not actually that far. I'm currently at the very start of August, doing the 4th dungeon. I just know a bit about what's coming up and, more significantly, have the official guide. I'm not just reading from book with blind faith, though - I have played Shin Megami Tensei 3, Digital Devil Sage 1 & 2, Persona 3 and have dabbled in the first two SMT games.
Some people on the LJ Persona 4 community are on at least their 2nd play-through already. I can't believe it. Then again, I've played P4 less often than I would have liked 'cause of Christmas and other things taking me away.

Alright I just got and played the US version of Persona 4, and Stopped after playing for 10 minutes. I really can't stand the US dubbed version.
Yosuke: Less energy and not as playful as the Japanese
Chie: She sounds like a woman in her mid 20
Yukiko: Less elegant
etc...etc...
Just my opinion though, it doesn't affect my judgment that P4 is better than P3.
So, I'm going to restart playing the Japanese version again.

I'm never a huge fan of any US dub, though as I said before, the more you listen to Japanese dubs the less great they seem, too. Kaimax is right that Chie sounds like a woman in her 20s rather than in her teens, but then 90% of Japanese voice actresses sound like they're on helium. I'm sure that Yukiko does sound less elegant in the US dub but then that's because they probably made her sound way too elegant and old fashioned in the Japanese dub. She does hang out with a load of down-to-earth people and has gone to a regular school. She wouldn't sound like she's gone to private school or anything.
That said, I have downloaded the "undub" which is the US version with the Japanese voices in. I'll be using that disc for my 2nd playthrough.
The only voices I think are a bit shit are Teddy's - he just sounds stupid and (spoiler) when he turns into that shota, it totally doesn't suit him at all - and Nanako's. It's hard to be nasty about anything to do with Nanako, but here we have yet another example of American voice acting producers thinking they can pass off a 20+ year old woman as a little girl. Oh, and Igor's VA is pure shit. It seems they're going for "Intentionally Cheesy" but it just sounds crap.
In P3 I hated so many of the voices so P4 is a definite improvement over that. I think both Yousuke and Junpei's voices are actually good - rather than merely bearable - because they do quite convincingly portray the regular guys that those characters are meant to be.

I think it's because it's really just an American thing to give that sort of character such a cheesy voice. To people I know (and I'm sure quite a lot of Americans too) it doesn't matter that the VA is doing it on purpose - it still sounds really crap.
It's like the Igor voice: you can tell that the VA is going for a really hammy voice but it's such an American thing to go for that sort of cartoony, un-nuanced "acting" and say "lol intentional" as if that makes it less cheesy. I think this is where I can really agree with Kaimax; US voice actors seem to get acting mixed up with putting on a (usually silly) voice. When they do have to put any emotion into their performance, that's where they really fall down.
His voice is pretty much the only "turn the volume down" voice in P4. P3 had a few more, especially the Death Arcana boy. That was absolutely ridiculous voice acting.

It's some what like a patch work, use the US version but using the Japanese voice pack instead of the US.

That's exactly right. The only catch is that the anime cutscenes don't have subtitles so you won't know what they're saying. From where I've got up to (the start of August) I don't think that would be a problem because there's very little dialogue in the anime movies and I can't remember any of it being important. You could play it once through with the normal North American version and then do your New Game+ with the undub; your save will work because they're both actually the NTSC-U/C version.
Of course, you'll need a chipped PS2, PS2 emulator (and a pretty kick ass PC) or Swap Magic to be able to play the undub.

I don't know, the dub doesn't bother me that much (with some minor exceptions), I'm a fast reader and skip most of it anyway.

I'd like some opinions from people who've already beaten the game. Spoiler if you're not up to November/December, I honestly can't remember the month.
The only thing I can't forgive about the voice-over is the god-damned comments from the support characters during battle. "Way to go senpai! You hit it's weakness!" Yeah, no shit, just like the last 4 enemies in 10 seconds... Thanks for saying the same thing for every one...
It bugs me even more because they did the same damn thing in Persona 3.
Otherwise, I'd happily make love to everyone on the credits list for this game. (aside from about half of the English voice-actors, all they get are handshakes and an uncomfortable silence.)

I just figured out a great tip that makes the fishing really easy. Sorry if this is common knowledge but I didn't know about it until I thought I'd try something new in order to catch the ultimate fish, the Guardian.
As you know, once a fish has bitten - catch it or not - you will lose bait. What you may not know is that if you pull it up before the fish has bitten and made the splash sound, you do not lose bait and you do not use up a fishing chance.
Combine that knowledge with this: the different fish make the pad rumble in a different way. The crappy fish don't make a rumble at all. The Genji Ayu make a single medium rumble, the Huge Fish make a single strong rumble and the Guardian makes multiple strong rumbles.
All you have to do is wait for the first "ping" in the water as the fish touches the bait; when a little circle comes out from where the line enters the water. If it makes no rumble, press Circle to pull up the hook. Wait until the "ping" makes a certain rumble and you know you're going to get the exact fish you're after. You can get the Guardian using only one piece of bait and one attempt!
You can have infinite tries until you get the strong rumbles to get a Huge Fish. Ironically, it's actually harder to specifically go for the crappier fish because - as far as I can tell - the Goldfish, Inaba Trout and Amber Seema don't make a rumble. That means you can't single them out whereas you can single out the Huge Fish, Genji Ayu and Guardian. Then again, maybe I was just coincidentally only luring Huge Fish, Ayus and Guardians and one type of weak fish, say the Goldfish, that doesn't rumble.
