Finally got some time to play...MAN I WISH there was some visual H-Scene <.<That's what doujinshi are for! I'd actually hate it if there were h-scenes in the game because you could be playing it when you have friends round and then all of a sudden you get hentai coming up on the screen... It'd seem like you're only playing it 'cause your so ronery (then again, people seeing you "dating" the various female characters is hardly less awkward). It's like with F/SN - why does it feel the need to depend on h-scenes? It really cheapens the game. Other doujin games like Touhou and Higurashi manage perfectly well without them.

Its true that what Doujin are for...but still, I'm heavy on animation H. And personally,i don't have any friends who would want to watch me play Persona games...i'll play a game that everyone can play with me lol. I'm not making it depend on a hentai scene, its just my fantasy of seeing some quality animation like we see in-game and seeing the sex scene. While we do see some text, i'm a visual kind of person :P
And to be honest, very few Doujin are nearly great quality. Or the art-style that I enjoy

Even though internet reviews don't change much on how great this game is. I still like to look at what other people thinks even if its been weeks the game has been out.

Pretty content on how they reviewed it

I'll watch it later but at the moment I'm still in bed and my speakers are off so I can't hear anything. Too lazy to get up and turn them on.
One thing I read in the review on RPGamer makes me wonder if they saw the Normal Ending rather than the True Ending. They said the ending was underwhelming and gives you a feeling of "Is that it?" but since I haven't seen any of the endings, I don't know if that's true or did they just not see the best ending.

May as well post these videos in here. Though I guess a lot of you will have already seen them, they were new to me. Spoiler tagged due to size.

A friend of mine owns the game, and apart from the incredibly annoying bear thing, it was pretty good.
Although should I get Persona 3 first? >.>

Teddie is only annoying because of his silly voice. The actual idea behind his character and his tale of self-discovery is actually quite good. The voice just puts his personality in a bad light, like any bad voice acting can do.
As for your question, no - P3 and P4 aren't connected really. At one point in P4 you very briefly visit the school and nightclub from P3 in a cutscene. You see a few of the old teachers and one of the S.Links, now two or three years on. It's a totally non-plot related thing and only lasts about 10-15 minutes so the only thing you'll be missing out on with that is the nostalgia value.
P4 is basically P3 but with everything improved, polished and tuned. If anything, the only reason I could recommend playing P3 first is that it might seem old fashioned and less enjoyable if you do go on to play it after P4. Er, kinda like if you played Half-Life 2 before Half-Life - the latter just wouldn't seem as amazing as it did in its day, particularly after playing the amazingly superior sequel (though I should say that P4 isn't as a huge leap forward from P3 as HL2 is from HL).

Man, I just beat Persona 4 last night. What a wild and crazy journey it has been. The final boss on the True Ending nearly decimated me. I was out of MP on my healer and had accidentally wasted my main character's turn on an offensive spell. If the battle had lasted one more round, I would have lost.
I cried at the end.
Today I thought I'd move on to Dragon Quest IV, but my Persona 4 obsession has not let up. I've decided to give it a second run. I didn't even get around to maxing out my Understanding stat. Damn.
I'll also be repeating a social link I mastered before. I messed up and didn't get to date the girl I wanted to.
Late October Spoiler
There are basically a million reasons to not spend more time on a game that I just gave a month of my life to, but nothing else is doing it for me. I'm simply obsessed!
Ah well. Any advice for the second run-through?

Just finished the Boss at the True Ending
I was touched with the turn of events when I finished it
Is it really worth it to do a 2nd cycle?
I have another game waiting Ar Tonelico 2[JAP]

I'm currently doing a second cycle, myself. But that's because I really can't think of anything I want to play right now.
I guess you could choose different choices/clubs to make it more fun.

I was about to say "enjoy your game-ruining crashes" until I noticed the [JAP] part.
As for the 2nd cycle in P4... Well you get to make different dialogue choices - usually pretty dramatically different ones - because now your stats will be high (should all be maxed), you can see the different sports club and drama/music club S.Links and, more significantly maybe, you can fight Death to get the characters' ultimate weapons (I think he's harder than anything in the first cycle) and eventually fight a hidden super boss who's far stronger than Death. He/she/it (trying to avoid spoilers here) has maximum stats and can fully heal his/her/itself after so many turns.

It's not that the reaper is harder in the first cycle. The Reaper/Death only appears in second cycle onward. You can find him in regular chest in any dungeon but he has a higher percentage to appear in Magatsu Mandala or Heaven. There will be a warning before battle.
So yeah, that's one more reason to play a new cycle.

wow...I never expected there to be a lot of persona fans here....P4 is more acceptable in terms of story line since the ending seems more lively than that of what happened in P3..I mean...uhhh did I say that right..ehehe..sorry

Well if you think about it, the really depressing stuff in P3 doesn't happen until right at the end. For most of the game the story is basically "let's go up a tower" with the only reason being "lol, it might stop the Shadows appearing". The plot was also dumped on you after dozens of hours of not a lot happening, and it was presented in the "MWAHAHAHAHAHA YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THE GENIUS OF MY PLAN!!!" style.
In P4, almost from the beginning, people that you're close to are being killed or nearly killed by a mysterious killer. You enter the dungeons to save their lives, not just because it's an RPG and you have to go into a dungeon sooner or later (like in P3). Because you have a family in P4 and because you can establish S.Links with your party members, the events feel a lot more personal than just "Hey guys, fancy doing some good old GRINDING tonight?"
Also, it's hard to describe any game as "dark" or "moody" when it has a KAWAII anime robo-girl and a Lassie-esque wonder dog. What's more, and this is getting more to do with my personal taste, those three recurring antagonists in P3 just felt like anime cosplayers rather than actual people that naturally dress like that. P3 earns its reputation and its respect almost entirely from the end of the game.
