I like how their price matches with the 3DS for this kind of tech. Now the 3DS looks kind of overpriced and gimmicky =V

I read an article that it cost Nintendo around 100 dollars to make a 3DS...
so yes its overpriced lol xD and Sony is losing money making the PS Vita.. :0

$100? Something that uses 3D without glasses cost $100 to make. I find that very hard to believe since its the only thing out there that can do that iirc. But still the 3ds is basically imo a gimmick with a shit ton of remakes.

Remakes or not it's a good system and worth having.

On topic: If it doesnt support UMDs I may put it off till something I like is released or the price drops. I like my hard copies.

Remember when touchscreens were considered a gimmick? Remember when the DS and PSP were both systems filled only with remakes and crappy games? How did that turn out again?

They sold well. My point is its my opinion. But I see your point. The gimmick for me is 3D. Everyone and everything is milking 3D. The touch screen was not a gimmick for me since it would introduce new ways of gameplay. The ds had not that many remakes but had alot of amazing games. The psp had a great library if you look at the rpg side. The 3DS bring nothing new that I'm aware of except the 3D. People like different things. If you like the 3D and the remakes then good for you go ahead more power to you. Am I going to get one? Yes if it can play ds games. Will I use 3D? Probably who knows.

From what I've read it can play DS games, but I don't think the 3D is going to be a reason why I'd buy one, as of right now there aren't really any games on it that I'd want to play, but then again that might chance. I mean the PS3 started out the same way.

pre-ordered my PSV today :), the manager spent 10 minutes ranting about the name before ringing me up.

Is the game just going to be online and download into the memory stick or is the vita going to have a updated umd or compatble slot... just because i would like to still play my legal umd game if i going to shell out 350$.

I am a fan of PSP myself (with a phat and 3000), but personally I think the PSPVita is a bit too big to fit into my pockets. The cost is also quite high for just a console. I mean, adding all those features is good (GPS, cameras, etc.) but I only really want to play games on my PSP, so I don't really see the point in adding all these things and push up the price. Not to mention I have to re-buy all my games that are on the UMD (yes I hacked both of my PSPs, but I had bought games before Sony screwed me over by not fixing a defect).

Seriously?! AT@T is the freakin carrier for PSP Vita?

Those guys haven't really built a new tower and stuff, look forward to your metered and shitty internet on vita.

AT@T as carrier just completely killed vita for me. That and 250$ for a handheld. Oh I remember the days when I could take out Gameboy Color in public and not worry. :/

It has alot of features to make 250 reasonable.
