PlayStation Vita[UPDATE 6/11/2011]

Bump, first edition comes out tomorrow.
Think I'm not going to bother with it and wait a week. No games I really want that have good replayability. Might just get umvc3 to start with. I want a good shooter with competative online or an rpg

Anyone have the vita and can share how the backwards compatibility works?
I want to be able to play some of my downloaded games from the PSP, can I just redownload those on the vita or is there an extra charge to redownloading?

You would have to dl again. Also you can only have two consul with that game on it. Unless you haz a ps3 Then you can transfer it to the ps3 from the psp int the vita. But only if it on this list of psp to vita titles http://consumerist.com/2012/02/how-to-transfer-psp-games-to-the-vita.html

what animefreak said. I put DJ Max Fever on my memory card and it is not showing up on the vita since the game is not in the compatibility list.

You mean the vita. I have one. It's not all the hype it getting but yeah i would wait until a price drop or go play the demo in game stop/best buy or whatever the game store is in your region. Now my bro is getting has vita today since they fucked up his pre release at his work(game stop) which i feel the us version is somewhat crisper and easier to play since.. i hate kanji. So i will probably get mine flashed with English firmware since vita's are region free.
Edit: 3-6
Cfw 1.0 hack released.. no importance since 1.6 is stock on most vita's.

Man I want the Vita SO BAD. Someone who has one, tell me what it's like, so i rest easy tonight.Well i got a WiFi version and only 1 game *Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen*
But so far i can say this much:
Screen is about 1.5 times the original PSP screen.
Remember how you needed to exit your game to do anything else on PSP? Forget about that, now you can pause your game *or w/e it is you're doing* and just hide that window and do w/e you want to do : watch vids listen to music browse internets etc etc.
Buttons are kinda uhh....loose, feels weird. Analog sticks don't feel that good but at least they work.
These are 3 things that i noticed right away.
Seems like when you play some original PSP games on PSV, you get a better picture and you can map controls on 2nd analog stick *I'm looking at you Monster Hunter!*

Lol, same. I asked my friend who already bought the Vita to let me try out MHFU with the analog stick and it just wasn't working for me. I'm so used to using the normal way that even when I set the Vita to use the second analog stick, I still press the normal camera actions by mistake. XD
