Sengoku Rance

When the installation box pops up(The one where I have to hit "R") it looks almost the same as shown in the picture except for the blue bar up top which is filled with question marks.

When I hit R, it starts to install. Then an error message pops up. But I can't tell what the error message says because it's in gibberish.

I downloaded MS Gothic Font which apparently I needed and as near as I can tell I installed it succesfully. That didn't change anything though.


Change your language unicode to Japanese

Go to the FAQ and Tutorial thread an read the instructions there. your problem is one of the most frequent problems and questions asked.

And please, before the "we have nothing better to do all day than play videogames until we've meticulously mastered them to the umpteenth degree" crowd comes screaming out of the woodworks to wax poetic on the trials and tribulations of "depriving myself of a challenge" and echo their chorus of "har har, yuz iz weak", let me spare you the trouble. I get all the challenge I will ever need and then some in my day to day life. I don't play videogames to be challenged. I play them to be an invincible god striding upon the earth and crushing every foolish insect-like mortal who dares to cross my path. When I want "challenge" all I gotta do is wake up in the morning and go to work and/or college.

So, with that out of the way...pretty please, the cheat engine anybody? I checked a few websites online that seem to have it but I am unfamiliar with those sites so I am hesitant to download it from them. Can sombody here link to a safe website to download it from? Thanks :)

I love this game, yet Ive only been able to beat it once. This only happened after several weeks of

"Ha, demon army is on the other side of the map. I can build up my... wait, how the hell did you get over here?!".
After winning, I stopped playing to keep my feeling of... accomplishment. As TheRedFear said, please post the cheat engine if you got the link, so I can play and feel as godly as Rance is.

K so I'm on Ran's IF route, but I'm having trouble...

When the Shimazu brothers start taking my female captains, the event to kidnap Kurohime is made available, but the search costs 50... being only allowed to pick 5 characters and a max search stat of 9 for each, it seems impossible to actually get enough points for this... Is there something I need to do or get in order to kidnap her?

The Alicesoft wiki really doesn't help either... At least from what info I have found...

Whenever you perform a cost command, the sent value will be deducted from the difficulty for the next act. For example, in this case let's say you send 5 people with a combined search skill value of 27. The difficulty will decrease to 23 for your next search.

None of the installations I find anywhere works... Most are password-protected, or empty.
The ones in the OP are all "temporarily unavailable", and where last I checked (some months ago) as well...
Yet you guys apparently have it?
Where are you finding it?

Installation Instructions

Step 1 (Download and Extract)

Download all 4 parts from the mirrors listed above. Put them all inside the same folder and extract the files to that folder. If you do not have a zip utility I recommend 7zip.

Step 2 (Mount)

Spoiler:
You should now have a new Sengoku Rance folder that contains Rance 7 ~ Sengoku.iso. You can either mount the .iso file virtually or burn it to a CD. These instructions are for mounting it.

For mounting I recommend using DAEMON Tools, and these instructions assume that you are using it (but it should be very similar with other programs). Once DAEMON Tools is installed and running (you may need to restart after the first install), left click the icon in the taskbar and bring up this menu:

Click on the empty device and select the Rance 7 ~ Sengoku.iso file from above.

The .iso file should be mounted, navigate to the virtual drive and load als_inst.exe


Step 3 (Install)

This step is optional. The English patcher will install the game, apply the 1.04 patch, and install the 1.00 English patch. Furthermore, skipping this step makes it possible to play the game under an English locale. Finally, for those playing under an English locale, it's advisable that they apply this patch after installing:

Once you open als_inst.exe you should see a screen like this. Click the (R) button and it will begin the installation.

Once the installation finishes click the quit button (Q) and if you haven't, download the English patch above.

Step 4 (Patch)

Run the patch and make sure it is pointing at the correct install directory.

When it's done patching you will find the game in you start menu in the folder Sengoku Rance English. You can now play the game!

Killing Orochi was the most satisfying part of the game, after that was destroying Takeda's blitz. It brings me to tears thinking of how I was never able to capture them after finally winning TT.TT Orochi was a pain, killing everyone but Rance with its "oh look I'm a snake god" thing going on >.>

This game is fun. But hell! It has wall and walls of texts one after another. Nevertheless its a fun game.

Are you confusing this for a normal PC game, because Sengoku Rance is still classified into a Visual Novel.

Focus more on the NOVEL part of that.
