meh am i the only one wishing for a unified console so that we all can like play together and share games.I still remember back when I had a ps1 and everyone had one. I and my friends just had to share money to buy 1 game and we keep rotating it.
I am the only one with teh PS3 and no one to leech games off...soo sad
^this. kinda sad when you are cut off from the potential game pool/game friends the moment you pick a side.

I'm thinking in terms of a ratio. Number of units sold of those systems were more than twice the sum of unit sales of all its competition (the DS not as much but it's still a large difference).
Basically, the comparison goes like this:
PS2 > 2(Xbox + GC + whoever else)
PS1 > 2(Saturn + N64 + whoever else)
DS = 2*PSP
Wii < (360 + PS3)
Since there aren't any signs of the Wii really pulling away from the pack, I just think people have been exaggerating about the Wii's "dominance". Maybe the Wii will still be the best-selling of the three consoles at the end of this generation, but it doesn't look like it will achieve a PS2-level dominance.

Ps3 sales have been going up drastically. So far this year and opening next year have been far greater than the 360.

Hey look, A PS3 game tops the list. Uncharted 2 = PS3 savior. Also, Forza flops. I guess people are waiting for the superior Gran Turismo 5.
Meh whatever. Who the hell cares about damn sales numbers. They should only be in the minds of the respective developers and the companies themselves. All we have to care about is what that means in terms of sequels and what kind of further involvement there will be from developers. As for the 360 it'll take top again for a while, followed by the PS3. I don't think they'll stop see-sawing anytime soon. Just because GoW3 is on the horizon doesn't mean that Microsoft should just wave the white flag.

you should get nintendo wii instead of two. or, if you're insisted to choose among those two, better buy XBOX 360

Me? Well, I've only collectively played about an hour on a PS3 and I love my 360, so I guess I'd go with that; but since I haven't really got to mess with a PS3 much I can't really say for sure.

PS3 for me, not because of the fact i dont have an XBOX 360.
Simply because of the blu-ray which games take full advantage of :P
ex:FF13, 360 will have 3 DVDs while PS3 will have 1 blu-ray

You don't give up do you? I'm going to bet you are running on Windows in which case you either need to just keep quiet or start running one of the non-US based Unix OS.

At least I give a coherent opinion on the matter rather than just go "consoles are better, PC sucks" I don't really give a damn what you think of my reaction towards PC users. I created that topic for IB for a reason. It wasn't my intention to throw that kind of controversy in video games.
