Tsukihime

I've watched the Tsukihime anime and am currently playing the VN. I am confused about the correlation between Tsukihime and Melty.
Is MB a sequel to Tsukihime, or a retelling of the game in an alternative format? Or perhaps the more important question, if I don't really care for fighting games (not dislike, just not my favorite genre), is MB worth playing after I finish up all the Tsukihime routes?
(Necrobump thanks to this list... https://www.fakku.net/viewtopic.php?t=37910)

Melty blood is basicly another alternative storyline following the Satsuki's story.
Synopsis
The story of Melty Blood follows one year after Yumizuka Satsuki's non-existent route. Tohno Shiki hears of a new series of murders in Misaki similar to the one's that took place Tsukihime. Whilst searching for the murderer he meets Sion Eltnam Atlasia who initiates a fight with him, attempting to capture him. After the fight she reveals that her reason for trying to capture him is to get in contact with the "True Ancestor" (referring to Arcueid) so that she may acquire information on the "cure for vampirism". Shiki then decides to help her with this task.

Alright, thanks for the clarification. The wiki page on melty blood is horribly ambiguous, and I saw another thing claiming that the anime was based on Melty Blood, so I was wondering what the actual situation was.

Is that supposed to be some kind of meme? I've seen that statement tossed around before, but it doesn't make sense. The JC Staff anime certainly takes some big liberties with the original script, but it's definitely the same overall story up till where I am in the game (about 3/4 of the way throguh Arcueid path)- I won't vouch for its consistency beyond where I am...

I completely disagree. I thought it was one of the best animes I've seen in a while. It's on my list of crap I need to buy in legitimate format when I have spare cash.
I watched the anime as soon as I found out it was by JC Staff, without having read any of the VN ahead of time, and it made perfect sense. It's presented as a suspense/mystery, so not everything is supposed to make sense initially. However, it answered everything that needed to be covered, except maybe go into more detail about Akiha's powers. Even with that enigma left unexplained, it didn't detract from the overall quality of the show.
I haven't really seen anything explained in greater clarity in the VN, and I'm only 5-6 choices from the end of the Arcueid path. I've noticed a handful of variations like the ero dream and the Chaos fight, but those were adaption changes, they didn't cause any real obsurity by the anime viewer not getting 100% of all info.
I think we all can agree, however, that it turned out a whole lot better than the FSN anime. I really wish Type-Moon has stuck with JC Staff.

Wah?You understood it?W/out playing the game?Well the game is much fuller so the anime might seem short for me.12 episodes was too short.
PS: hated how they portrated Arcuid and Akiha, they looked older its not cool.

What is this Tsukihime Anime I've been hearing about? Cut the non-sense, there hasn't been a release of one. All there was in the past was a fanmade anime named Shitofaworld Failureofananime but it wasn't Tsukihime. It had manfaced women and a sissy protagonist who probably jerks of to other men since his harem was as bunch of guys crossdressing as women. The VN Tsukihime is awesome and I cant wait for an anime.

Oh wow, the girl(?) in the pic looks like Arcueid. Who is he/she/it? Why does it has boobs when it looks like a guy? What kind of anime is this? And when will Tsukihime remake get finished? What took my Saber Lily figure so long? Too many mysteries!

How could I watch something that's not even exist? That blonde dude with purple skirt is all I can see. The rest is all lies.
Lies.

Just to clear this up, there is a Tsukihime anime, but it's a running joke (read:srs biznis) among fans that since it was so attrocious, it doesn't exist[/h]
It must be fan-made, as a professional studio wouldn't let the anime be this attrocious.

Idiotic Meme confirmed, thanks... I guess.
darykk, I'm not sure if you're being successfully trolled or you're just playing along, but apparently the cool thing to do if you didn't care for the anime adaptation is to refuse to acknowledge its existence. Not something I intend to do because I really liked the anime.
(EDIT: Maybe I should start double checking before I post when I spend a long time composing)
I've gotten a little further in the game (just saw final h scene with arc), and I'm guessing that the anime invented the backstory between Arc and Roa, which may have left those who read the VN first reeling and wondering WTF? Having not read the VN ahead of time, that detail was in no way a source of confusion.
IMO a good adaptation of anything will contain enough variation on the original as to make it a new/fresh experience, and someone having seen the adaptation can go back to the original and see something familiar, but not identical.
Besides, this anime has an awesome soundtrack- not something that can be said for the game...

Spoiler:
How can you have a meme of something that doesn't exist? Also, how can you have a soundtract of something that doesn't exist? You must be confused here or something. We all love tsukihime and we all wish for an anime but sadly there just isn't.

tsukihime was made by, then, doujin group type-moon. you know, self produced and published games to be sold in comiket made with low starting budgets, etc(usually). japanese wiki says that type-moon started with only 4 people.
therefore, i wouldn't exactly blame them for not having a really awesome soundtrack
