I just finished reading all of Cross Channel and it was an awesome read! The characters didn't leave much of an impact.. though it left me kind of depressed.. But I just started playing My girlfriend is the President and I love each character more than the next! Next up on my list is most likely Steins;Gate.Sorry, I had to ask - what anime is that on your sig?

I gave up on osananajimi wa daitouryou for some reason, must be because of protagonist or something like that... but i at least had to finish off El of course
I suddenly got into the monmosu quest series and finished off 1 and 2, and now am awaiting 3, Alice was really my motivation throughout the whole thing really, I hope the protag develops some feelings for her and makes her blush harder though XD, some of it was pretty disturbing though...
I really want some Gnome action, not with the damn dolls but with her, geez.
I finally got around to playing g-senjou no maou, IT'S SO GOOD, GAHHH.
although. Having played sharin no kuni first, I find that akabeisoft really has some sort of blueprint method for making it's games...
there are lots of similarities in characters used, plot devices, themes and of course, art.
I just finished the Kanon chapter however...
could it be?! a game in which i absolutely enjoy every single character?
furthermore it's almost like they lined up the heroines in order with the best at the end;
up next is the flat-chested white-haired twintails (possibly tsundere?) shiratori
and of course, last is the amazing usami haru
it feels a lot like they took a good look and analysis at sharin no kuni, and really made a better game, improving on points in which they were previously weaker in, while keeping their unique style of visual novel.
damn, i really am just too into these things sometimes...
after i finish g-senjou, i may get around to comparing it to sharin no kuni, i feel like there are just way too many similarities and it needs to be analyzed and discussed
nfuaaaa~
-and i had just gone a month or 2 without any VNs, i almost thought it was something that would just run through me and leave, and yet i'm still here.

SO, I just (finally) finished Katawa Shoujo, my thoughts? Well it's probably because it's only the second VN I've played, but I thought it was fucking amazing, it was deep, saddening, lighthearted, it was beautiful. Welp, now I can focus on Edelweiss, and Fate/Stay Night, and Shuffle, and Ef..., and Higurashi..., and Saya no Uta... I kind of have a backlog.

Oppai Overlord
Im kind of playing 3 at once. I have a short attention span a lot of the times All of them are popular and well recommended. Edelweiss, Sengoku Rance and Monster Girl Quest. I have finished the Mei and Mizuki routes in Edelwiess. Half way through the Ran route. On Sengoku Rance im on like turn 50 on the first play through. I just started Monster Girl Quest so Im at like the first big town. I forgot its name. I think that Edelweiss is REALLY romantic. I like that though. A good romance is good. Sengoku Rance is REALLY NOT romantic. Its like the opposite of romance. Its all about the rape for Rance. But its a fun game that has a lot of real time strategy elements. Monster Girl Quest is.... well its unique. Its not every day you have the opportunity to be raped by a slug girl. But honestly I don't see why you would want to be. Its still pretty entertaining though

Still playing Kamidori (almost done 3rd playthrough now), while chipping away at Deardrops and Steins;Gate. Gonna focus on finishing the trial of Mahoutsukai for now.

Kira☆Kira - Just finished it. The true ending was really disappointing for me, to be completely honest. It didn't feel like the protagonist and the female role had any form of romantic connection at the end, it was strictly casual looking,

Wait. The fuck? This exists?
Excuse me, I'm going to finish mastery of the Japanese Language + Text.
See you in 2 years.
But in all seriousness, thanks for showing me this exists. I need to continue my studies, and also pray a translation comes out. I'll stay tuned in the event this happens. +rep

Well, there IS an English translation for Deardrops, in fact...
Kira Kira -> Kira Kira Curtain Call (main POV a new protagonist (insignificant though) and Murakami) -> Deardrops (New protagonist, two years after Kira Kira? Kirari now a star singer and meets Kirari briefly) -> d2b vs Deardrops: Cross the Future (As the title says, the protagonists from the two VNs meet and compete).
Though to be honest, Kira Kira probably is the best VN after so many series I guess. There's also a PSP version for Deardrops called Deardrops Distortion (Jap sorry haha) where you get to read an alternate route in addition to the ones in Deardrops, where the band adds an unlikely member and present themselves in GOLDEN outfits. <3
Actually, why don't you just use AGTH/ATLAS? If you say that you can't bear the terrible English well, it IS machine translated English, and as long as you understand what it means it should be fine. You'll miss out a lot of VNs (Actually, a tonne of them) if you try to wait for a translation for let's say, the Baldr Sky series. Though there is a Chinese version for Baldr Sky now, and they're pretty darn quick (about 1 or 2 years? No joke, if you've played the game you'll know that it's crazily huge).

I just finished G-Senjou no Maou.
I put it off for quite a while since the summaries didn't seem to pique my interest but.
of course.
I was completely incorrect.
Goddamnitall it was so good.
I hate how they toyed with my emotions in the end, and I was so enraged I wished I had simply closed the window during the credits roll.
Akabeisoft seriously has brought it's skill to a whole new level.
If you haven't played this game, PLAY THIS DAMN GAME.

I'm tempted to touch the Muv Luv series. I have heard a tonne of positive reviews about it (though initially, mixed reactions from well known reviewers, in addition to a quite antiqued art style and seemingly stereotype characters - which put me off it until now), but I'll still like some final opinions. Of course, I want a SENIOR's opinion on Muv Luv; someone who has played at least 50 VNs to start. I really don't have much time to dwell on VNs lately so I'll like to reduce the amount of inferior VNs I read in the process of testing them...

I really don't have much time to dwell on VNs lately so I'll like to reduce the amount of inferior VNs I read in the process of testing them...As you said, there are a lot of really positive reviews about the Muv Luv Series so I'm pretty sure that you already know that it's not your usual Eroge. I'm just going to leave a very short summary (very amateurish btw) of each game since I would be writing a lot about how much I enjoyed the game (at least Muv Luv Alternative).
Muv Luv extra is basically your usual Eroge with comedy, romance, some issue to each heroine and then basically the end. It's nothing spectacular and man, the protagonist is very dense. This may even be a issue with some users. Even if you find Extra a bit bothersome, I personally highly recommend reading all routes because of Alternative since the experience will be a lot better.
Muv Luv Unlimited shows your same protagonist in another world. The setting is interesting but IMO, again it's nothing spectacular. You have your regular development with the characters but in a different way and you'll notice that something big is going on. However, you'll never get a detailed information. Also, read all routes like Extra. I actually thought that it was bothersome going for each route at the time I read it but it was worth it.
Muv Luv Alternative. Man, I don't even know where to begin. Going for some bad points, sometimes the pace is a little slow and you should be a little bothered reading some evnts. Believe me, you actually get lectured. However, I believe that this is also something important since you actually get some information so that you can better put yourself in the protagonist place and integrate better in all the events that occur. You'll see how the protagonist thinks in very occasions and his reaction to some developments in a detailed way. Depending on your tastes you may find interesting or not this kind of thing.
Besides that, I admit that I was incredibly glued to my computer reading Alternative lol The OST sets a great mood (and it's a very good OST) and the way the story is presented to us is totally great. Btw, beware of the utsuge tag. It's really strong in Alternative. Also, there are quite a few emotional events that may affect you or not (again, I recommend when reading Alternative to try to feel like the protagonist) but if you're enjoying the story you'll certainly like them.
Muv Luv Alternative surely deserves a very high spot in all the Visual Novels produced so far. And by God, please, read Muv Luv Extra and Unlimited before Alternative.
Nevertheless, Muv Luv Alternative is a highly rated Eroge in VNDB and EGS so you can be sure that it's something awesome. I even say that Muv Luv Alternative made me up my standards for Visual Novels lol

Hah... I suppose I can't say no to a good story then. I'll try to sneak in some time to read it.
Now, on to my real review on 锿³•使ã„ã®å¤œ.
Well, let's start off with some of my biggest issues with Type Moon. Instead of making a sequel to Tsukihime or Fate series (Though I do understand that with Realta Nua and Hollow Ataraxia, the Fate story is officially closed), they make stupid stuff like the recent-I-forgot-its-name anime, Fate/Extra, etc etc... All kinds of stupid stuff that ugh, so goddamned annoying. It's been years since I first read Fate/Stay Night and they somehow managed to screw around so long without releasing anything resembling a VN.
But when they release one, GOD it is so incredible. This one is absolute top tier and most likely the VN of the Year; I simply cannot see anything else that could top this yet.
Let's introduce the characters. So obviously this tells about the tale of Aoko Aozaki, the 'sensei' to Tohno Shiki of Tsukihime. She was asked by her teacher to guide a new transfer student Soujuurou Shizuki, a person who lived in the mountains for his entire life until that day where he officially enrolled to this high school. Living together with Aoko Aozaki is a girl named Alice Kuonji, who was also a magician just like Aoko and always wears a cold and quiet demeanor.
I'm not actually sure how to express my various emotions on the characters, but there is one thing I could tell. Soujuurou is one of the most well written ORIGINAL male protagonist in VNs I have ever seen. Of course the other two female protagonist are equally awesome (I especially love Alice and OH MY GOD SHE IS SO BEAUTIFUL - yeah I should restrain myself >_>), but heck, it's just too bloody rare to find a good VN with an equally interesting male protagonist to talk about.
Next would be the atmosphere and pace of the story. To put it shortly, this is the first - yes, you heard me, the FIRST - and ONLY VN which message speed settings I didn't change to max. I always set them to max because it makes reading faster, but thank god I didn't change this one - almost did it out of habit before changing my mind. I had the feeling that, if I speed the text up even a little, it could ruin the experience and pleasure I got from the VN. Never have I enjoyed the atmosphere of a VN so much - I mean, of course I enjoyed to equal extent 装甲悪鬼æ‘æ£ which themes are crazily controversial to social norms, but one with a relaxed atmosphere? Never. The entire story was moved, literally moved by Soujuurou, and that almost NEVER happens in VNs where stereotypes are rampant and sex is king.
On to the animation.
Holy shit.
I don't know what to say. Maybe something like, "Now THIS is what I call a Visual Novel!" "Fuck Animes can go to hell" "OMG ALICE~~~~~", you'll have to go through it yourself to know what I mean. 锿³•使ã„ã®å¤œ graphic animation is most defi-FUCKING-nitely the indisputable king of all VNs from the past to now. Oh yes. Oh FUCKING yes, I can't wait for Tsukihime's sequel GODDAMMIT MAKE IT ALREADY SERIOUSLY HOW LONG YOU WANT TO DRAG IT TYPEMOON????!?
Ehem... To the music and OST. Now I'm the type who loves ochestras and classical music, so the OST in 锿³•使ã„ã®å¤œ is absolutely brilliant to my ears, though someone else might differ my opinion. At any rate, I believe it to be again, TOP TIER MUSIC - though there is one track that I don't quite like near the end of the story - and the Ending Song is beautiful.
So, all of that's been said... Those who have the VN but haven't read it, by god, start reading. You certainly won't regret it. 9.99/10 score because of that one track that I dislike, but what the hell, who cares about such a subjective issue? ALICEEEEEEE!!!!!! <3

I'm a bit interested in these games by Overflow. I'm thinking of eventually reading them using ATLAS if they do not get translated. But if Shiny Days isn't worth it I won't play it. Also, my hard drive would appreciate it. It's 17 GB! o_O
