What VN are you playing? What do you think about it?

Now on to Shiny Days

After finishing the game would you mind telling us your thoughts about it in general?
I'm a bit interested in these games by Overflow. I'm thinking of eventually reading them using ATLAS if they do not get translated. But if Shiny Days isn't worth it I won't play it. Also, my hard drive would appreciate it. It's 17 GB! o_O
HiroyukiShota already said that he didn't find the game that interesting and I also wanted to know your opinion.

Well, I hope you enjoy your ride lol

I'm also quite interested in Overflow games, but due to lack of translations and the sheer size of them, I haven't bothered trying to play one.

On another note, I'm just about done Deardrops (half-way through Riho's route), and more or less finished Kamidori (all routes complete, only some extra/NG+ left). I'll probably slowly keep chipping away at Steins;Gate, but for now, I think I'll turn my focus back onto Little Busters. I've probably been going at it for over a year now, but still haven't finished LB...

I'm torn between Ever17 and Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo, but Istarted with Ever17 first. I've heard many great feedback on both.

Similar to the da capo series, Overflow has milked this game so awfully much that there's seriously nothing more to expect from it. It lost it's origins that made it famous to being with and has degenerated to a game that sells it's characters that have being developed in the previous games.

From what I know (I've only watch the H-scenes), it's basically Summer Days "version 1.8". It has the basic story of Summer Days with new content.

You cannot even begin appreciating Ever17's greatness until you finish the final route.

I'm not actually sure how you could play multiple Visual Novels at once. Isn't it, well, degrading the experience?

Just finished 創刻のアテリアル by Eushully, this time featuring a card game. And although I'm not sure, this seems to be the very beginning of the Battle Goddess' world; I faintly remember in Battle Goddess Verita that the 創刻のアテリアル protagonist's ability (Sea of Blood) was briefly mentioned. Would love to have someone confirming with me.

So it's a card game. Leveling is not an issue unless you want higher level passive skills (that you would barely notice honestly) such as a higher Card Clone ability - which again, I barely noticed because except the Leader card I could capture any creature I want. This needs a second playthrough to unlock additional choices, or you will be stuck with only, if I'm not mistaken, five heroines. Actually that's still quite a lot... but moving on!

So obviously the Human Route is the authentic history of the game, and that is what I followed. I was honestly a little disappointed as the storyline was quite lackluster - probably would amount to the first half of Verita - but it is just as addictive. There is no need to grind, you'll get the cards you need as you do events and continue the story. The funny thing is, except for the first time where the protagonist awakens his power, there is no more CG of him wielding his ability in battle. You would think that they would include something like this at the final boss, but nope. Also they neglected the ending badly. Very badly. So yeah, disappointed. It is interesting enough that I would play its sequel though (strongly hinted at the end).

The Devil's Route seemed absolutely crazy however, because I used a 100% save to unlock it (I'm the type who won't go through a VN the second time once I confirm that I have the true end. For those that don't have one, well, generally ignored unless epic storyline) and found out that the protagonist is... wow. In total contrast to the beliefs he held in the Human Route, you're basically walking down an evil path (Now that I think about it, probably much like Ein No Aselia's Evil Route) and damning everyone for ultimate power. I'm not exactly sure how a person can just change so drastically even with a devil whispering down your ears (or maybe I'm just dull), but wow.

The Angel's Route is angelic. Lots of shiny stuff. Probably wouldn't recommend it.

And er, although it seem at first (and in the walkthroughs) that the heroines are obtainable only through one of the three Routes, I now think otherwise (Need confirmation from people who has played the Devil's Route). That being said, the Devil's Route most likely will not land you a happy ending, but DOES look the most interesting out of all three routes so... do decide.

I think it depends on people themselves. Some can't play multiples, some just can.

For me it depends on the VN itself, the last 2 I played were just nukiges, I don't need a lot a focus on the story, If I do get a good story from that then it's a bonus. But if we're talking about heavy story ones like Mahoyou or Ever17 I prefer to concentrate on one Just to keep the mood.

and fuck, Forgot to get the New Eushully one since I was away from my PC for 3 days.

Still playing Fate/stay night, currently working through Heaven's Feel. Such a freaky, guroish route, I love it <3 .

Lawl. I'll definitely recommend you to play it, though probably not a second playthrough. Although... you do get to keep your uber powerful card deck (which reminds me, you can't actually categorize decks by parameters and that makes it a pain in the ass to organize them >.>), and some heroines such as the red hair ice queen (actually the one I really wanted to go for but couldn't in the Human Route) probably needs a second playthrough for their choices.

I recently finished Osananajimi wa Daitouryou ~My girlfriend is the President.~ and I enjoyed it. It's quite a good light hearted game and if you want something shiny and pretty with lots of luzs and HNNGGGG's then this game is for you.

Now I'm going for some Liar-soft works. I'm starting with Sekien no Inganock -What a Beautiful People-.

Recently finished Muv Luv Extra, Unlimited and Alternative all at once. Spent almost 18 hours per day to read them all; that's how interesting things really were especially Alternative.

Muv Luv Extra and Unlimited are really just romance and comedy despite their different settings. Nothing much to say about these two, they aren't really interesting but does serve as an excellent foundation for Alternative.

Alternative was really, really serious, and honestly I nearly cursed at that one guro image. It was five in the morning, fuck. -_-" It came as a total surprise even though I accidentally spoiled myself knowing that the character was going to die, but it was no less chilling to see it.

There were several really interesting things about Alternative.

[spoil]One, the BETA seems to have direct contact with this life form called 'creator'. So who is this creator, why did it create the BETA, what is its purpose to have the BETA recollect 'materials' etc. There are so many things that required explanation that the Muv Luv series do not look like it will end any time soon.

Two, the action scenes are epic. Some scenes in the end seemed rushed but it was crazily cool anyway, and is the main selling point of Alternative. The tragedies that occured after Takeru returned to a branch of his original world was plain mad. The effects are really being used to their maximum efficiency, and while it is not the first time, Alternative certainly proved that Visual Novels can provide an experience much more satisfying than anime, WITH anime effects in it.

I do have a question here: How many of you guessed that Sumika is the cause that made Takeru a causal conductor? For some reason I had pretty much guessed it when Sumika's past was revealed (in a rather disturbing and unnecessary manner btw). I had expected it to unfold better though.

Now to some qualms I have with Alternative. Obviously not having a CG Mode or Sound Mode SUCKS. What the hell is Age thinking I have no idea; that's the worst injustice they could've done to the VN. Would appreciate it if someone could provide me a CG Pack link btw.

Next, the background music was not done properly, especially during the war scenes where it is blurred together with comm chats and gunfire. Half the time I didn't even notice that there's background music and it's slightly disconcerting, though the normal ones are fine.

Also, Takeru was suppose to have 3 years of military experience when he started Alternative, and yet at times his actions and thoughts - actually, most of the time - seems to indicate little to no growth at all of his mental state. I'm not sure if it's because the writer's efforts to keep him in character, but it just doesn't make sense sometimes that his thoughts and actions felt like a teenager's.

On a side note. What I dislike after reading the summaries of the Alternative Chronicles is that they are set at a future where Alternative V was executed and not after Alternative. Moreover, after some checking around (Haven't read the Chronicles) it seems that Shirogane Takeru was alive and serving the Imperial Guard in this timeline, and obviously this is NOT what I had wanted to read. What I want to know is the story of the world after Alternative, but well...

Finally, the Muv Luv series had been an intensely satisfying experience to read through. It is sad that in the end, Takeru was forgotten by everyone in the world he saved except Kasumi, and that he has lost all memories when returned to his original world, and it felt like the happy ending could be done better, but still, it was awesome as hell. The series do not look like it will end any time soon - too many questions unanswered, and 10 to the power of 37 numbers of Original Hives, just what the FUCK is BETA really??? - but in this case, perhaps it is a very good thing.

Though I still would hate Chronicles for its setting. =_="

[color=red]Finished "Suiheisen made Nan Mile? - Deep Blue Sky & Pure White Wings" and the fandisk "Smile Cubic" from Abhar

Quite light story, slow pace, and good artwork (Misaki Kurehito). Too bad I can't understand the Encyclopedia section .-.
I'm curious about planes too lol

The fandisk was ok, but Misaki (the artist) made some change on his drawing style. Makes few CG slightly looks different (feels so different when you look at the first game's CG set, and compare it to the fandisk CG set).

Now, waiting for Bishoujo Mangekyou 2 :/

Monster Girl Quest Part 2 is my main one now.

Mostly it's just Doujinshi now.

Finished 獄淫の尖塔, but it wasn't as good as I'd hoped, sigh. Currently going through 素晴らしき日々... How should I say this. It's not even an hour yet but I felt like my mind is going to wither if I don't get some sleep. 'Hah?' and 'Heh?' should perfectly describe the perplexity I'm feeling right now...

It's not for nothing that it's said that Subarashiki Hibi is quite deep seeing as you already are like that on the beginning lol

[color=#2e1a6b]I'm playing Fate/Stay Night for the first time; this is my second visual novel after Katawa Shojo. I absolutely love it, the story is so engaging. I hate reading, and I never read any books for fun, but I'm having fun with this. What's most amazing about this is that the story is SO good, that the sex scenes actually get boring

I was very amused with myself though: early in the story, when Saber said that she had limited magic, I thought "Maybe Shirou will have sex with her to restore her magic", but I laughed at that absurd thought, thinking that I must watch way too much hentai. Then it turned out that I was right...

Yeah. Excellent choice of voice actress for Yuki btw; I'm pretty sure she's the voice actress of the main female protagonist of G-Senjou no Maou (Might be wrong, but this is one of the few voices that I love a lot). If only trying it wasn't so taxing on the brain trying to understand all those philosophy talking. >_>

Though the reason I had to sleep after only an hour of reading may very well be connected to the fact that I've sat in front of the computer for three days straight eighteen hours per day going through the Muv Luv series... lol...
