What VN are you playing? What do you think about it?

Nah, I'm fine with violence and Denpa. I'm just very uncomfortable with the idea of unavoidable rape in visual novels. I'll check out the game sometime if I can find an English translation, I just don't know how well those scenes are going to sit with me, lol

OK. So I'm new to VNs. I've finished Katawa Shoujo and MGQ so far. Currently playing Fate/Stay Night.

MUAHAHAHAHAHA I've surprised myself with my own intuition; I didn't expect it myself that I'll get the real murderer of Higurashi within the first chapter! AHAHAHAHAHAHA! Sure there are many minor details that I got wrong too but hell, THIS IS A GREAT FEELING!

EDIT: GUYS GUYS! YOU CAN'T MISS THIS! It combines many, MANY famous tunes together to make an epic 10 minute violin solo; and the most incredible part is that I didn't actually expect to hear Higurashi's tune in this! I bet you guys can hear a lot more familiar tunes than me so, OMG man, you CAN'T miss this!

My only regret in Demonbane was finishing Al's route first and then having to go for the others. I really like both of her endings. Well, when I finished Ruri's and Leica's routes, I just read Al's route again lol

I like it. It's a very well put together medley. I'm interested in learning violin, but it's too expensive... and I still have to learn how to play the guitar cause I bought one a year ago...




Same. I played Al's route and then played Ruri's. I started Leica's but never finished... maybe I'll get around to it someday.

Erm, well, Subarashi no Hibiki still No.1! :P But yeah, this is a story that you would regret not reading about.

Not only that, the way it uses it's special effects and sounds are so simple and direct it makes me wonder why no current Visual Novels even try to do that. Higurashi tries to make things funny and light, and they don't even need a million fancy sounds. Not once I have gotten bored with its effects (though I must say that the background image was rendered very irrelevant - not really conveying the feeling that the characters were there).

Just finished Sekien no Inganock -What a Beautiful People-. It was a nice read.
The way it handled the majority of the story and it's atmosphere were well done. As I pointed before, this is a story that is not recommended for all casual readers. One reason for that is related to the fact that this is a very mature story.
One thing that I didn't like that much is the way the final part developed. It could be more satisfying since you're probably going to rage in a scene and say wtf in other scenes.

Nevertheless, I personally liked the game and it growed in me the more I played it.

Well, now I think that I'll go for Shikkoku no Sharnoth -What a Beautiful Tomorrow-. If Dengeki Stryker is released before before I finish Shikkoku no Sharnoth, there is a high possibility of me putting Shikkoku no Sharnoth on hold and start Dengeki Stryker.

Finished Dracu-Riot. What a waste of good setting with all the vampire stuff and Lycanthrope factor. This VN was one of the better Romance-themed stories, but could've been a lot better if they threw in a True End into the fray. Even in Miu's Route (Supposedly True End I guess) the protagonist barely managed to control his powers and as a result, was a lot weaker than his actual full potential (Not even sure if that was just the extent of it; when he lost control it was said that he could've destroyed an entier building with ease).

I had hopes that maybe Nicole's Route would offer a better story (Though I must say that all girls have quite the good storylines; Elina's and Miu's were my favorite), but in total contrast to my expectation it was the worst and shortest out of all. -_-"

Really really a total waste of good setting. I wanna see the Mayor fight at full strength, I wanna see the Mayor's assistant fight, I wanna see a real apocalypse and not the 99% diluted:



Stuff. This could've been so much better and satisfying. >_>

Ranting done, will talk about first impression on Rewrite. It was bad. The opening scene had looked really cool, but the 15 minutes of reading afterwards... not so much. In fact, not at all. It was a cluster of confusion where:



I dunno what you guys think about the scenes above, but I am utterly perplexed and unmotivated to continue because... seriously. WTF did I just read? Plus, the art style is really not to my liking.

Will continue it some other time; Key epics like Clannad is a huge motivator after all, but hopefully the confusion will clear up soon...

I'm about to jump into Clannad. I've got really high expectations after I watched the anime/movie/read the manga.

If you're going for the english version of the Visual Novel, I recommend waiting some time since the translation is now with Doki Fansubs and they'll start with Clannad as soon as they release Tomoyo After. I'm sure that it'll be totally worth waiting for it.

I'm a bit confused then, because I already have an English version. Or at least it starts out in English, like I said I haven't really gotten into it yet.

There actually is a english patch for Clannad however, it's not considered that the game is fully translated. Also, the current translation seems to need a better QC.
It's not that you won't read the game in english, it's just that if you wait for the Doki Fansubs patch, you'll be sure to have a better experience reading Clannad.
