Simple question. How many of you pirate here? I think the last time I bought a game for the PC was years ago when I didn't even know how to work torrents... I would start a torrent wait thirty minutes and assume it was broken because it wasn't done xD Eventually I left it on and found out I had to wait a couple hours... My life was financially changed from that day. Since then I haven't bought a single PC game. I pirate everything...
Mainly I pirate because its free xD and my computer is so bad half the games I pirate can't even run and I'd be wasting money buying games that dont' work with my computer. So yeah. How many people here pirate?
Also pirating hentai really isn't what I'm talking about. Most people can't even buy it in the first place xD Well at least I've never tried...
As I type this I'm pirating AoM... Only reason I like it is I can make an army fight a titan and lose. Fun to fight impossible battles.

I download some, i buy some, it's pretty much 50/50.
As much as i like getting stuff for free i don't wanna fuck the developers over completely.

I used to pirate a lot, but lately most of what little I play is actually legally bought. I guess it depends a lot on how much money you have as well - my greatest times of pirating were as a kid before I actually earned any money myself. No money means no other way to get your games. Actually having some money suddenly made buying the games possible as well.

I only Pirate things that is nearly impossible to buy, for ex: No selling stores, Price is too high, and availability.
But If I somehow find something that I like and I have money on me then I'll buy it, BUT after considering some factors...

Well, I'm not pimp enough to be able to download a PS2 game and burn it onto a disc and stick it in my PS2 or anything like that, and my computer isn't good enough to play any games that are less than ten years old. I'm not even sure if my computer would be able to play PSX games. I've been meaning to find out . . .
But I do download a lot of roms for the NES, SNES, Genesis, and GBA. NES, SNES, and Genesis games are hard to find, or people want to charge you too much money for them. Plus, I don't want to go through the trouble of having three game consoles hooked up to my TV just so I can play random SNES and Genesis games. As for GBA games, I don't have the money to buy a GBA, and even if I did, I don't want to pay for games that I wouldn't spend a lot of time on. Most of the GBA roms I play, I play out of boredom or just to have something to do. I drop them whenever I get tired of the game or find something better to do.

Mostly old shit you can't buy in stores anymore.
There are exception like the undub of Persona 4 and P3 FES (I own the originals, but I hate the dub)

I do pirate some games...but only outdated ones like SimTower and House of the Dead 2. I buy my other games.

I haven't pirated much beyond H-games mostly due to incriminating evidence that I don't want friends to find >.> Otherwise I buy everything. I support the people who make the games I like.

I pretty much pirate all my NDS Roms, and tend to buy games for my Wii and Mac (Boot Camp).
I'm surprised that no one mentioned the evilness that is SecureRom yet. I pirated Spore and Red Alert 3, and a handful of other titles just because of that, and I don't believe I did anything wrong.

I pirate stuff that won't be translated, the exceptions are Custom Girl, that game rocks. Otherwise I buy my stuff, most recent is Princess Waltz.

I never steal any video games because I hate pirates. It's depressing to see good games like World of Goo not getting any sales because people can't afford to spend fifteen measly bucks. Cheap bastards. Video games are not a cheap hobby. If you can't afford them, it's probably a good idea to get a damn job.
The only game I've downloaded is Mother 3 and that's only because Nintendo hates us and never release it here.

I can understand being upset when people pirate new games, and it upsets me, too, but what about older games? Is there really anything wrong with pirating the original Mario Bros, even if you don't own the original cartridge? It's not like Nintendo would get any extra money if you shell out a bunch of cash for it. And though you could order it on the Virtual Console (I assume they have it), it wouldn't further the idea that Mario Bros is a great game and similar games need to be made.
To put it simply, downloading Street Fighter 4 is wrong, but what about downloading the SNES rom of Street Fighter II?

Well old games should be fine because they're no longer being sold at all, No problems with it at all I believe.
