Do you pirate?

The economy is pretty bad and I have no job so Heck Yes!
I have no soul but guilt sometimes makes it way to me but it quickly goes away when I play my modded ps2 or xbox360.

There's a certain satisfaction that comes with owning a game - especially if it's the first or special edition. My thoughts exactly, I bought Special Edition Resident Evil Pack, and my Chris Redfield Figure is looking nice on my work desk.
I do however regret buying the Assassin's Creed Special Edition, the game sucks ass and I kept yawning after playing 5 mins into the game.
I download some games for my PSP, but mostly buy new ones because I like to have a collection of my own.

I mostly hack but i do buy when it's on special offer or used, like 2 years ago i saw that:
the Playstation 2
2 controlers
2 memory cards (a ps1 and a ps2)
Final fantasy 7-9-10-tactic
Prince of persia 1-2-3
Star ocean 3
Lord of the ring the 2 towers
God of war
All games are originals, in good condition.
Total=180$ CAN
The dude was only 30 minutes of car away, i went right away to buy. Since i never played any of those games and didn't own a Ps2 but kept hearing how great it was, best deal in my life ;p

I pretty much always pirate my PC games. The only time i actually go out and buy them is when i can't find them online or when they would just take to damn long to download. One time i tried to download a game but when i found out that it would take 4-5 weeks to finish i said "F*** it! I'm buyin the game."

For me, I like my console games on my console (bought), and I like my old NES, SNES, GB, Genesis, etc. . . on my computer (pirate). I mean, why pay for something that a) I have already payed for. b) isn't sold anymore. or c) isn't worth what it's being sold for.

I wont download if the game is over 4 gbs. Its not worth it. My download speed is way to slow for good games. Besides buying games with a good serial number allow you to play them online! 8)

I don't buy 360 games. Price tag is ridiculous. Everything else is generally lower then 20$, so if I know the game and it's good and I've got the money, then yes I'll buy it

Simply put: yes, I pirate a lot of games.
Mainly because developers charge way too much for a game that may only last 5-10 hours. Even 15 hours, for 50-60 bucks? No thank you.
And Demos seem to have become endangered, I am not paying for a 'chance' of enjoyment.
If I like the company, or know that it's a game I'll like, then I'll be happy to pay for the full version.

1 - Creating a game costs money (production, developing, paying the workers, comercials)
2 - They sell their product to gain back the expenses plus profit.
3 - if pirated they loose income
4 - Loss of income means less money to reasearch future games and keeping the company running
5 - to gain more income the prices raise
6 - The prices raise, people want to buy less and pirate more
7 - Repeat from step 3
This is the actuall problem really. if pirating didn't excist then I'm positive that all games would cost half of what they are now.
