Well, yesterday I unlocked the IS and took it for a joyride. The tank is really good, first match got me Mastery Badge 2nd Class and Steel Wall, the armor on that thing is amazing. Unfortunately, it introduces nothing new, it's basically a slower and up-armored KV-1S with better RoF.welcome to the rest of that line lol
Also, slaved away at the type T-34 and finally got the Type 58. In my honest opinion, the mediums don't start to get fun until tier 6, the tier 4 mediums are just cursed with poor guns and hp to be enjoyable.
I have Type 58 too and guess what, its super fun to drive, i love it.
20000 more exp to unlock T-34-1.

So like, I got bored with the IS and started toying around with the VK 30.01 (P). No stellar results, but playing it as a turreted tank destroyer seems to work pretty well - plus the fact that I can flank if needed since it's a medium, though a bit cumbersome.
Of course, the faster I'll get the Porsche Tiger, the better. :P

I recently got the IS and finally got the 100mm for it. I would have just gotten the turret and the 122, but I saw the fire rate for the 100mm, and figured I could do more good with that than the 122.
Also got the VK 36.01 H, and that thing on stock sucks balls. Terribly slow with a derp gun(of which I hate) that can't pen anything. My only hope would be to flank to the side or rear, but the thing is too slow for such a maneuver. In short, that tank punishes you HARD from the get-go.

Vk3601h isn't that bad a grind and it's quick to unlock the parts
If you're driving the IS and you find yourself preferring higher rof less alpha guns then go to the chinese heavy route instead.
On another note, I think it's about time I take a long hard break from WoT. Work's been catching up to me and I'm finding WoT too stressful atm. I'll probably quit it for good once WT ground hits but I can't stop finding enjoyment in talking about tanks =P

Too tired with RNG bullshit sometimes.
STill be keeping up with news and junk.
Also, VK 36.01H, i played with it when it was medium.
At begginning, the 7,5 was weak, but sufficient. L/70 upped my chances.
But now, as stock vehicle its somewhat of a mixed bag.
as stock its best at supporting fire. Detrack, pepper with HE to annoy etc.

VK 36.01 (H) has always been a palmtop Tiger, even before the engine nerf it wasn't a medium, it had both armor and mobility of a heavy, so you have to use it accordingly - angle your frontal armor to get lots of bounces and be aware that shots to the sides can and will damage/blow the ammorack.
With derpgun use HE shells only, it's a bit of a pain but bear with it, I found the grind on the Henschel VK much better than the one on the KV-1S.

Also the Konisch(?) gun promises fun times.

Actually, I disagree. I think the vk 3601h should set you up to play the tiger as a 2nd line heavy. You will have the healthpool and armor (when angled) to work efficiently from the back, but never are you to lead a push, you should stick right behind your russian heavy buddies and provide support with your konisch, which evolves into the amazing new long 88 on the Tiger.

Anyway, I would say that EVERY German heavy tank is a 2nd line heavy. They may have strong armor but they also have glaring weaknesses (LFP, gun depression), and their guns, while having superior penetration and accuracy, have average alpha until you get the 128mm, which reloads too slowly to be effective at crowd control - that is, you get swarmed, you are a goner.
But alas, go tell that to the community. I can agree that an E 75 can go push with the Russians if needed, since it has such ridiculous armor (so long as it angles and keeps the sides and arse covered of course), but seeing people rage in chat because the team's Lowe or Tiger is sniping from afar instead of pushing with the IS-3's has always been annoying.

I tend to ignore them.
My Löwe takes sniping seriously. I see you, I penetrate you. Simple as that.
Yes i can push with Löwe if situation calls it but whacking IS-3 from long range and turning them scrapheap = rage and far more success.
PS: i played with WT line, i still think WT E-100 is a failure of design. Gun is awesome but WT Panther would make more sense.
Also, the Flak Bus (Jingles designation, fitting though) is soo good.
Im thinking about making a bus skin of it.

WG did it again: apparently they'll postpone the launch of the new Russian premium medium tank T-44-85 (which is already available on the test servers) due to royally screwing up with the gun (which is a less accurate but slightly faster-firing Type 58 top gun, 160 average damage and 126 average penetration with AP, 167 pen with gold). It does come with preferential MM though, which is probabaly why some brave ones say it's decent enough even as it is.
What NO ONE agrees upon is the price: 7200 gold, the same as Super Pershing.
Anyway, I'll be taking a break from WoT as well, dunno for how much.

On a side note, me and my love for tank destroyers: instead of going through the Porsche line of heavy tanks, I'm grinding the German TD line, currently at the StuG III, and I have to say, this tank is the squishiest, most unforgiving TD I've ever used.
It's like a real sniper: camo and bushes are mandatory, the tank itself is doomed if spotted, and the gun has laser accuracy but you must know where to aim. It's a good thing that it shares a lot of modules with the Jagdpanzer IV though, makes the next grinds easier.

Yup.
But the selection of guns is decent, but not good enough.
The best gun is the 8,8 gun that you find on the T6 mediums.
IF you want any result, stick with 7,5 L70 or shoot gold with 8,8.
ARL V39 is bad in the beggining, but with 105 from the Bathtub, its downright lethal.

Ok, after getting my dirty hands on Xenogears, I'm seriously taking a break from WoT until I beat the game at least once. Tanks are one thing, the ancestor of one of my favourite RPGs is on a whole new level. :P

I might grind the JgdPz4 now.
8.9 Official Vehicle Changes
Mostly buffs.
And it took WG years to do that haha.
