In response to the last bit, I'm not here to try and fix the system. I was just pointing out that America treats poor people like shit. Actual research into it (of which neither of us has likely done enough to have an informed debate about) though leads to an undeniable conclusion that America ranks quite poorly in treatment of its poor.Your dodging the question. If America treats it's poor like shit then suggest a way to improve it. Otherwise we aren't doing that bad. What defines "the poor" to you. Those who make under 100k? under 75? under 50? under 30? What should we do? Provide them with the highest quality medical treatment, give them a two bedroom, one bath house? a 25k car? A big screen tv? We already provide them with food (EBT) They won't be buying steak with it but, you don't want people to remain poor. You want them to desire to climb up the ladder and giving them more handouts won't encourage them to do more to help themselves. We give them tax breaks and if they are completely poor then they don't even taxed (except on sales). As for schooling they have grants and scholarships that cater specifically to low income families.
So how do we "improve" our treatment of the poor? I want to hear your ideas. Show your ideas to me and I'll agree or disagree. As of right now I don't see our "terrible treatment" of the poor right now

Ever since I started to gain a perspective/interest in history between colonial and current eras and started studying economics I began to build a rather large respect for America and Americans in general. Unfortunately I'm also all too aware of how fucked up the country can be (how they treat their poor is a pretty excellent example of it).I have to disagree. The poor get several benefits ranging from EBT (food stamps0, tax breaks to welfare. Along with dozens upon dozens of charities. Hell, we even have systems to get the homeless back on their feet and into society again. Now we might not just give them food a house and a car but, that is how our society works. Nothing is free, you earn your keep.
If you have any ideas to improve how we treat the poor I would like to hear them (really, I want to hear them).

Parents are too soft nowadays I believe. It's kind of hard to discipline your children when the government basically outlaws any real form of punishment. Spank your child and it's child abuse now. Can't spank them and send them to bed without dinner otherwise that is child abuse.
I'm inclined to agree with the others, we're fucked.
Will the be able to close the coffin or will they have to break something to close the lid. It would suck to be standing in heaven holding your dick crying "They broke it off! They really broke it off! Damn you all to hell!"

Also, where's my Ashita no Yoichi anime? I could've sworn I heard news about it debuting this year.I swear to god, allah, vishnu, brahma, and shiva, I heard about an anime being produced!
You didn't swear to Jacob. That was your first mistake.

This is how I felt about the first movie. If they do any worse I'll be the first one curb stomping everyone involved.

That's because Vemon, though insane, at least became only almost completely insane. I don't think that sentance makes sense. Well, they sortof made Venom an anti-hero, wereas Carnage would just kill for the fun of it.Carnage is pure evil. He sees the world as chaos and the law and order are the real perversions. Basically, carnage has an Absurdism view on the universe. Thinks humans are evil but, we aren't capable of admitting it and giving into our desires. As to why he's stronger than venom and spider man combined, I can't remember. Probably something about the method in which the symbiotes "give birth".
wasn't carnage stronger because the symboite actually formed with his bloodstream
I'm not sure because I never read the comics. I just made an assumption.

Yeah, it sucks. There's really no telling what the show will be like. But I did see this on Wikipedia, quoting Anime News Network articles:Earlier speculation from a purported document leaks has Bones again acting as the production company and Yasuhiro Irie is announced to be series director.
So, the second series should still be good, if the people making it are the same.
That is all we can hope for. They set the bar pretty high for themselves. It's like "you set a new record...now break that record". Here's hoping

I remember Ed was sent into the other world (the first time), and he inhabited the body of his double, not his own body. His double had all his limbs, of course. But the double died when the zeppelin crashed, and Ed was sent back to his world. So, when he went back to "our" world, he took his own body, which was missing the arm and leg.Yeah, that was the puzzle piece I was missing.
So the only question remaining is "What will they do with the series" which can't be answered now because of a lack of information. I hate it when there is a question that can't be answered.

That makes sense then - I didn't like shows like Seinfield and I felt like my IQ was dropping while watching Napoleon Dynamite. The weird thing is I hate Seinfeld & Napoleon Dynamite. Yet, I like Lucky Star.

@GSDAkatsuki: I actually liked the anime, but I'd rather see a continuation of it than a totally new season starting from ground zero.@Fiery penguin: Ed's dad was over on the other side, and with his son they built his prosthetic/machine arms and legs together.
In the anime when he crossed over he was fine. He had both arms and legs and they worked fine. I think something happened to Ed's body in our world.
I'm trying to connect the dots between his first crossing and how he ends up with prosthetic limbs again in the movie. There is a piece missing that I can't remember.
Have you met Jacob or Raze in real life?
Have you ever met any forum member besides them in real life?
Name someone you would like to meet if given the opportunity
You've been placed into power of a sovereign country (doesn't matter how you just did). What is your first act as leader?
What title of Nobility would you want to be granted besides King, Emperor or prince.

What the hell is so great about this show? Seriously. There's no plot, there's nothing but stupid conversations about what they're gonna do after school and how they eat snack foods. Ugh.
I got to episode 13 and had enough. :?
Sitcoms have no plot yet, roughly every t.v. station has at least one in their line up.
I like it because it moves at an easy pace. Sometimes I like a slice of life in my anime that I can relate to. Giant robots, Feudal Japan, and super powered people gets old after a while. I'm not terribly fond of Drama (with the exception of Law & Order).
Again it's the Seinfeld of Anime. Why was Napoleon Dynamite so popular? Hell, why was Seinfeld so fucking popular? If you can answer that then you have your answer for Lucky Star.
P.S. My obsession with Konata pales my general feelings for Lucky Star. Konata=awesome.

I did mention the confirmation of FMA season 2 in my thread: https://www.fakku.net/viewtopic.php?t=10416 if you bothered to look. And since the anime and manga diverged midway through the series, I'm going to assume that mangaka and the producers are in cahoots to create something entirely new, that is continue from where the movie left off. "Season 2" does not equate to a complete makeover of FMA in my eyes. Plus, Hellsing Ultimate was an OVA, not a season. I for one am really looking forward to this.the only thing im wondering is if they would EVER get there orginal bodies back.
damn i feel so impatient! i need to know what happens now! >.<
If you think about it there isn't a reason for them not to. In the anime Ed gets a new body when he travels over the first time (during the zeppelin bombing of England). I can't remember why he has prosthetic limbs in the C.O.S. though.
