This is similar to the "If you were God" thread. Most if not all of us are aware that Jacob is the founder of Fakku. His rule is absolute, and the decisions he enforces can either make or break the community. I suppose you could say he is our God. However, even a God can't please everyone (or doesn't want to please everyone). The majority of members gives Jacob praise (+rep) whenever he makes a positive post or commentary. Then there are the minority who are disappointed in Jacob because he failed to meet their expectations. This thread is targeted towards the minority, but I'm sure the majority would like to throw in their two cents. So members of Fakku, what would you do if you were the founder of Fakku? Do you even want to be a webmaster?


Outline:

I. What would you call the site?
II. How much money would you spend to keep the site running?
III. How much time would you invest into the site?
IV. Would you cater to the members' tastes or would you just upload things that you liked?
V. How would you handle ads? How much is too much advertisement?
VI. What features would you add that could attract new members in addition to keeping the current members happy?
VII. How long will it take for you to say "Fuck it" and close down the site (or let someone else run it)?

My response:

Been there, done that. The failure of my website all came down to money. I couldn't afford to advertise the site or buy my own server. Not to mention the anti piracy spies kept breathing down my neck. It was a good experience for me though since I can now use my knowledge to run my father's small business.

I learned that some members have a bad habit of derailing threads.

The only time I felt like life sucked was when I got diagnosed with a mental illness (2 years ago). I was depressed because I thought of myself as a failure. Now that I've accepted my faults, I'm ready to face my future without feeling so insecure. I'm gonna keep making mistakes, but at least now I can look back and laugh at those stupid moments. Living like a free spirit is what got me this far, so I won't give that attitude up for no one (Not even myself)

I learned I might go to jail for stripping naked in public.

When I was hospitalized two weeks ago, I had a lucid dream that I was God. At first it was kind of cool, but I wasn't able to handle the pressure for very long. People kept calling me to fix their problems, I couldn't keep up with all the worshiping. Then people would practically curse me for not paying any attention to them. The dream felt so real that I ended up sleep walking out of my room naked. For a couple days, I couldn't tell when I was dreaming and when I wasn't. Eventually I realized that only God can be God. So for the first time in a long time, I prayed to God. I made a promise to him that I was just going to be myself regardless as to what people think of me. I'm not sure whether it was a miracle or what, but my social phobia seems to be cured due to going through that surreal experience. In addition to that:

-I realized that I was lonely (and suicidal).
-I learned to love myself more.
-I understood that I need to start thinking for myself rather than trying to live up to other ppl's expectations.
-I'm addicted to naked yoga now.
-I'm no longer ashamed of the skeletons in my closet.
-Like Adam and Eve, I made the ultimate sacrifice: I gave up my ignorance and bid farewell to my childhood. I had a good life, so I have no right to judge other people.
-From now on, I'm going to live as a free spirit. The pact I made with God gave me the opportunity to start off with a clean slate.

Sorry for my negligence, I had some soul searching to do. Anyways, I'm resetting the game. Once again, we need 5 members to join before we start playing the game.

Main opinion: You become an adult when you are aware of the consequences of your actions. This would be based on mental age.
Minor opinion: If you turn 18, then you are legally an adult based on chronological age.
Commentary: People should take a test to see whether a person is mature enough to be treated as an adult.
Elaborate:

An individual's chronological and mental age doesn't always match up. For instance, a 30 year old might still behave like a 15 year old. Also an 18 year old might be more mature than the average 30 year old. I believe there should be a test (similar to an IQ test) that determines a person's ability to think rationally. In order to prevent cheating, experts should use a lie detector. A person will get certain privileges such as driving a car, owning a firearm or drinking alcohol if they score high enough. If a person scores low, then they have to re-take the test again a year after they took the last test (plenty of time to get some life experience). The test can also help determine whether a person might have a mental illness. However, the test should only be given to those who just turned 18. It wouldn't be fair to target people who are already 21 and up. In order for something like this to work, experts will have to clearly define what it means to be an adult.


Conclusion: The gap between child and adult is getting smaller within each new generation. A test to determine an individual's mental age would most certainly help distinguish what it means to be an adult and a child.

Satan had a dream. His dream was so radical, that no one really took him seriously. Like Jesus, he had a vision of the future. God showed both Jesus and Satan that future. They both liked what they saw, but couldn't really describe it. All they knew was that the human race was not only going to survive, but they were going to thrive. However, Satan and Jesus were two different people. Jesus wanted to spread morals, while Satan wanted people to be themselves. I love Jesus more than Satan, but I like Satan more than Jesus.

Honestly, I think things won't get anymore peaceful than it already is (at least not until humans become extinct). However, doing good deeds is the one thing I'm proud of. The effort alone is enough for me to be satisfied. If it doesn't go anywhere then at least I can say I tried to make a small difference.
