Most situations, failing is better. I mean, yeah, we can get into long winded discussions about the pitfalls of having guts and an indomitable spirit may screw you over in weird situations where it should be obvious that you will fail, but overall, go for broke.

I'm fine for rallying against institutionalized sexism like work-place related stuff, but I can't stand behind people thinking that colloquialisms are the core reason why we have institutionalized sexism. When it comes down to it, sexism may be common, but not everyone reacts in the same way to it. People who push for a cause often forget that everyone else around them are not as motivated because they're not really into that particular issue at the moment or they haven't been dunked into a group of people who bitch about it.

I would be able to do it. Human life has some elements of intangible beauty to it, but if you apply that standard to yourself while being threatened with deadly force, the conclusion is simple. If someone is going to point a gun at you, your comrades or your family, they have given me the right to respond as any reasonable person would respond to.

That and there's legal justification for using deadly force to combat deadly force. That kinda' helps.

I find it curious that people are so vehemently opposed to the notion of good and evil verses actually evaluating whether or not a bulk of a man's actions, principles and motivations can possibly fit into the extremely open and forgiving notion of evil.
