It's just that rep back in the day actually used to mean something. I was overjoyed to get a single rep, and still am because I know I've really earned it. Never really got a de-rep unless it was accidently given to me. But all this crap I've seen lately, users begging for rep or attention, users with inordinate number of rep that doesn't match their post intelligence, and you start to wonder what the fuck is wrong with this picture; hence this thread.
@Tsurayu: it's why the "a list of reps" thread is over 3 pages long because people actually care about rep, including you.

No, not particularly. It's just a point of reference and one of the major breakthroughs in what is considered anime and what can go beyond that.
But you lose the charm in deliberating over which doujin is truly a favorite and a never-let-me-down sort of thing.
Not like it matters to me since I've never used the darned function.

Is a pretty interesting guy, catfish. Likes music a lot, and used to type on Notepad, of all fucking things. And got trolled by his college professor, lololol. Is also trying to make an attempt at widening his tastes by exploring and posting in the main forums.
Btw, I just realize that asking for myanimelist is a dumb point of reference simply because after watching many anime series, I have my own biases and tastes developed. It's easier to start with more mainstream/current anime and then delve into your likes and tastes from there after getting a taste of anime. Give or take, watch anime of most genres/themes, and especially watch anime like NGE, pre-NGE, and post-NGE. It'll give you a point of reference in terms of animation style and quality of the different eras.

I don't thinnk deleting previous posts will help things either. By deleting post content, you're essentially creating more confusion for readers who are reading threads with your posts in it, windknight111.
I can assume that you might want to delete your own account to wipe out your post content and history? Why bother?

Thank you, Tsujoi, for grasping my point. If I get negged-repped, of course I'd care, but not that much, but my point would be proven either way.
@Waar: all your words make you even cooler man, not the other way around.
I tend to like Yuki Kajiura's OSTs simply because they are a fusion of new and traditional, and for the same reasons that Ziggy likes her works too.

Apparently people can earn rep in the most pathethic attempt possible by actually creating a thread about it, never mind the fact that such attempts is an obvious abuse of the rep system.
So, what are you guys waiting for? +rep me guiz, pwease? Prty pwease?
If I earn rep from this, I'm going to laugh. And then ask for the complete desablishment of the rep system.

I totally agree with Azuran's sentiment in banning everyone from 2009... at least some of them.
As for Animeholic's 3000 post requirement, fuck, I joined mid 08 and still have over 3000 posts. And most of them are made intelligently.
Fuck, I'm going for over 9000!!!

The idea of gaining rep for something as silly as solving hypothetical math problems is even more amazing.
