If I remember correctly, Cortana was originally this- like a Siri 6.0 or whatever. The hologram model only came out later.

I see 2D and 3D waifus like fastfood and nice restaurants.
2D are quick, easy, convenient- but you always feel kinda bad afterwards.

There was no official announcement for it- just a post in the discussion thread.
I figured those who check in more frequently are a little more invested/interested in keeping the game alive, and so it gives them a better chance at it.

A beta is just a beta, and risks getting canceled for whatever reason.
If you can show me that she's enough of a phenomenon to exist in some other form of purchasable media, she's good.
I'd figure she had enough presence as her own character. Beta or not she's featured in a lot of fan work, webcomics and what not. The game isn't out yet but she is her own work, not attached to it. Even then, the flash game is out there already. There is no risk of it ever leaving so I don't understand that logic.
