This has been asked many times, but invisible; it has so many more practical uses, we can collectively fly already, and you wouldn't attract unwanted attention to yourself. But if you could fly, you could save people from burning buildings!
Have you checked out your warranty? Maybe you can still get your card back.
Here's something you can do with your dead card if you know you can't RMA (it might or might not work.) It can help cure damage caused from overheating:
Baking Your GPU (I am not kidding)

Otherwise the 4770 is perfectly acceptable. Personally myself I would look into the 5-series cards now cause the 4-series is being replaced (5750, 5770), but its a perfectly fine card, expect a very good performance boost in games over your old 4650.

The 4770 isn't that much weaker (to my surprise) than the 4850. The 4850 only gets about 5% more frames than than the 4770. The 4770 isn't a bad choice, and it is the most power efficient option of them all. All the other cards use a significantly more amount of power than the 4770.
I have looked up some benchmarks to help you decide. BTW the 4770 being tested is the 512MB one. Expect the 1GB version to perform slightly better at higher resolutions
The GTS 250 is not in the benchmark, but GTS 250=HD 4850.

basically what I want out of it is the chance to learn how to use it, because I don't really have any experience with Linux. As for distros I'm going with Ubuntu 9.10 for now, cause from what I've heard it's pretty simple, but if anyone knows of something better, then feel free to let me know. Also I'm not completely switching to Linux just dipping my toes in it for now. As for knowing how to terminal, if it's anything like using command prompt, then it shouldn't be all that hard right?Ubuntu is a very good way to start linux. It comes with everything you need to run a computer. It's a good Distro to "just dip your toes into"
Terminal is just like command prompt with different commands, and it acts pretty much the same way. Its not hard, but sometimes you can't do things without the terminal, and that is a pain sometimes.
Google is your friend, if you don't know something, just type "ex. How to set default operating system ubuntu" into google. By the way, when you install Ubuntu, it will set GRUB to boot up Ubuntu by default instead of Windows.
My advice for this remedy, install startup manager from synaptic package manager and run it (it will appear in your administration or preferences slider), from there you can change your default OS.
Good luck with Ubuntu!
"Phenom extreme" isn't any type of Phenom I have heard of before. Is it a Phenom or Phenom II? If it is a higher end Phenom II, it wouldn't hurt getting the 4870. However, the 4870 is the most expensive but the most powerful. The GTS 250 and the 4850 are roughly the same in strength, the GTS 250 is just a little bit stronger. The 4770 is the weakest card you have listed, but it is stronger than your old card.
Looking at it, all those cards are going to give you a boost in performance. A performance enthusiast would pick this:
HIS H487Q1GH Radeon HD 4870: $160 after mail in rebate
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161292
All the cards can play all current games adequately, so your choice will be based whether you want to play the newer games on high settings.
It's completely your choice, I have a 9800GTX+ and it runs games adequately, but struggles running newer games on maximum settings (ex. Empire Total War). But overall, its a very strong budget card.
I would buy the 4870, only because I don't want my computers out dating soon, I like keeping them for a while.
Its completely your choice.
EDIT: Then again, if they are all the same price, GO WITH THE 4870!!!

Oh noes! Just kidding, only one virus scan (out of the twenty or so)thought it was a virus, so its probably safe.
Macs are good because they can go without viruses, and do many things that PCs do. They also tend to look better, but on the other side, they cost an awful lot more than PC's. Then Macs also have compatibility issues.
I live in a university which the vast majority of computers being used are Macs (unbelievable right?). Both my roommates have Macs, and I feel like I am the only PC enthusiast on campus.
I respect those who go Mac; however, I will never use one myself. Apple restricts too much on their computers and their operating systems.
And so, hail to the future of the PC!

I am not going to build one for you, but my brother managed to make a rig for just barely under $1000 with a Core i7 and Radeon HD 4890. Remember, the better you build it now, the longer it will last before it gets outdated. i7's don't look like they are going to be replaced too soon.
I would rather have yandere. Someone conceited sounds like too much of a hassle and Yandere seems to fascinate me more.
Mine was a tiebreaker from the High Priestess and Death, and Death won. Seems to describe me well, I tend to think that way.
You Scored as XIII: Death
Death is probably the most well known Tarot card - and also the most misunderstood. Most Tarot novices would consider Death to be a bad card, especially given its connection with the number thirteen. In fact this card rarely indicates literal death.Without "death" there can be no change, only eventual stagnation. The "death" of the child allows for the "birth" of the adult. This change is not always easy. The appearance of Death in a Tarot reading can indicate pain and short term loss, however it also represents hope for a new future.

Spoiler:
I have a whole drive devoted to my hentai.
67 GB in CG sets
14 GB in Hand Picked CG and Doujins
about 130 GB of H-Games and Hentai Video
That totals to about 211GB of hentai.
The drive is almost full now...
It was those dang torrents that really just filled it up!!

I would practice shooting at cans. I have never fired a firearm before, who knows when those skills might come in use?
Sounds like nothing terrible happened to it. I would cry if someone stole my car and the police gave me back a crashed wreck. Glad to hear that you will get it back soon!
