Actually that's a Chara-hai cover not a cospa one Shashin. They actually have their smooth knit done by A&J, it feels a fair bit thicker than Cospa's smooth knit though not the same as 2WT ofc.

Yes, though there's still some variation between smooth knits from different manufacturers too. The only way to really know what a material is like is to already have a dakimakura from that manufacturer of that type before hand. Though if you have any smooth knit or any 2way tricot or whatever else, you'll have a good impression of what one with the same material type is likely to be similar to.

That mirai one is a Smooth Knit, so it's not quite as smooth as 2way tricots but is pretty nice still. It's a bit more resilient to snagging than 2way tricot and should be safely machine washable (after turning inside out ofc), but it's also thinner and possibly the reverse side will show through slightly on it. This isn't an issue if you are using it with a pillow filling, but if you intend to hang it it could possibly be a minor one when viewing up close.

Yeah Yokatta aren't worth using for auctions, only webshop orders.

Hmm, the card also appears to have her shirt on too while yours did not. As for the picture of the cover itself, it seems like they're the same in terms of pose and clothing (for the parts visible) but possibly the expression is different. The left side is not obviously smiling (but bad photo quality makes it unclear what expression she has) while the right hand side it seems like it does not have an open mouth like on yours. Even with a bad photo an open mouth should be visible on it, so it seems like she has a closed mouth which doesn't properly show.

Seems there was a My Bride event in Osaka on the 14th. The dakimakura blog has announcements of upcoming events in the top right info box below the hits counter.

Seems today is companies universal "day to open webshop orders for c81 dakis". Ah yeah the dakimakura blog had actually posted a pic on twitter of that censored ass when it was first released prior to comiket 81. Similarly surprised and disappointed at the somewhat random censoring.

Edit: Oh yeah I forgot to say, about proxy services I've been using Sutocorp when bidding on auctions, since they had a better fee than SMJ for me (being in Ireland not the US). With changes in exchange rates they're not that much better now though I think. They charge 8% fee (of everything including international shipping which has to be by EMS - if you weren't planning to ship that way it may not be that good a deal for you).

For webshop purchases I now use Yokatta since their fee just can't be beat really.

Normally I'd warn that anything in the 5k price region is likely a bootleg, but neganebulous is a legit seller from what I can tell and he's selling one of them at 5k so perhaps that one was originally cheaper or is just unpopular and likely isn't a bootleg. Having trouble finding out what the full size of that one looks like though, it doesn't seem to be on the dakimakura blog at all (there's another one of the same character on it only).

You will need to use a proxy service company to bid on YJA though, who will have it sent to them in japan, and then ship it on to you for a fee.

Yeah that looks pretty bad on that cover :< I guess they just used a really cheaply put together material that has no durability. I have some bootleg japanese 2way tricot ones I got from YJA which haven't had that issue (though have coloration issues instead).

Ah right I remember that one. Hmm, polyester suede (as used by Chara-Ani) I would say is similar to peach skin, while polyester twill is not. It's not really shiny, has a small bit of stretch, but is rather rough to the feel and even on the eyes, the texture of the material is noticeable from a reasonably far distance. It's also a bit thicker than the smooth knit cospa uses, since it doesn't show through the reverse side to nearly the same extent as their smooth knit does.

However after a single glance at the daki once it arrived I instantly thought "right, never getting the twill version from cospa again" as the rough surface texture is just too visible to me at even a moderate range let alone up close (if using it in a bed).

There's also Polyester Twill (as used by COSPA.. and only COSPA afaik...). Or maybe that was that Tropical Polyester you mentioned since I've not heard of that at all...

Peach skin is not a very good material, it's the basic cheap material that bootleggers/custom makers tend to go with. It's quite similar to polyester suede (which may or may not be the same as the SK suede Shashin was just talking about - there are too many minor variations of materials in this hobby ><), and as Shashin just said it's thin, smooth (but not the nice smooth of 2way tricot/roica), very shiny, doesn't stretch at all (if your pillow is even a tiny bit too big for it you're out of luck then), and very prone to creasing if you ever happen to fold the daki for storage or what not. I do believe it is a fairly resilient material though, in that you can safely iron it to remove the creases (though I have not tried). A lot of peach skin ones are also colored/printed pretty cheaply and can turn orange/yellow after a year+ (this last comment may no longer be true of current ones, but was in the past).

How many dakimakura is a kidney worth? I've got one spare just lying about afterall...

Yeah it seems they were just selling off the stock that didn't sell at comiket (and she sold out after a few days from the webstore). The ninja girl sold out at comiket and they said they're still sorting out stock before she goes up on the webshop, probably more of the white haired girl will be available then too.



While the deadline was indeed the 10th, the webshop does still allow you to place an order for it. Possibly a bug, but might be worth giving it a try to see if they will accept it afterall or not. Eveningcall haven't added support for paypal payment yet though, so you'll have to order from them via a proxy.

I realised while I was waiting for them to arrive that I had unconsciously ended up getting ones with a common trait this time round...

Yeah not much you can do to avoid getting "caught" by webshop releases that would have saved you money. They do tend to be more likely for eroge company's releases than for doujin circles, so being more patient for those is possibly recommended. Do check the history of webshop releasing for any circle/company though on the dakimakura blog, as that gives you a strong indication of whether they're likely to do so again for their current releases or not.
