Can you consider publishing Masayoshi Mukai's books? Guilty Sacrifice and Silver Dragon?
Sorry I was sure where to find the book suggestion forum. But please oh Please Look into licensing Dawn of the Silver Dragon.
Is there a magazine coming with more stuff like Bosshi's XXX? Tentacles, elves, fantasy etc? Would love to know if more of that genre is coming.
Now that the site has a subscription based model can you remove those advertisements? They really screw with mobile by popping up constantly.

And like someone else mentioned, I hope you can change the way this shows up on our credit card statement, like how dlsite doesn't say dlsite and mangagamer doesn't say mangagamer on the credit-card statements, so I'm sure there's a way if you looked for it.

Once these issues are sorted out and if you have a 3 , 6 month or even 1 year subscription price tiers I'd subscribe in a heart beat.

One more question, any chance you guys will give book discounts to subscribers?

It is delivered by the default delivery service from this site. Also doesn't customs have the right to open packages to inspect?

Not if it's classified as mail. Cause it's Canada Post that actually does the customs inspection, or it should be them anyways. Here in Ontario they always do the customs inspections themselves.

Are we able to get the books shipped by fedex or UPS?

I have no idea. I just use the automatic shipping option the site gives me...

Has this been settled yet or has anyone gotten to the bottom of it? If not then it could be possible that.

He is on some kind of watch list if they are raiding his mail...

There also appears to be something about a possible refund if overpaid I cant see why they would be charging more than 100% of what the whole import costs in tax...

This might be a legal case I call time for lawsuit any lawyers in the house?

I never got blacklisted on anything. I even have a Nexus pass lol.
Ever since I started importing Fakku books this has happened. Never on my other shipments.

My question to you is if you are using the default delivery method which is having the books be delivered to you via the postal service. If not, then that might be what the problem is. Cause if you are getting them delivered via the US postal service which hands off to Canada Post then having your mail opened is against the law.

Other delivery services (like FedEx) can open and inspect your packages because when something is delivered by a different company then the postal service it isn't classified as mail. Only something that is delivered by the postal service is classified as mail and is protected under the law from being opened.

Can you give a clear answer as to why doujinshi is being removed when it doesn't harm the industry at all? This isn't a case about them being unlicensed but harmful. I honestly do not get why they are being removed.

Removing doujinshi is more of a morale decision than a legal one. There will come a point where FAKKU should only have licensed content. Thankfully, we'll be bringing a lot of legal doujinshi to the website (both free and paid), the first two are Cure Assort and Bosshi's XXX MiX.

Hi, Sorry is there a way to recommend Doujins we want licensed? T_T MTSP's fate stay night ones... Cyclones Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha, as well as AquaDrop (Mikami Mika) Oyasumi Sex

don't know how much it would help, but could you post a picture of the Import tax Reciept? So we can clearly see what they charge you.

And I'm too tired to think this through properly. But $20 threshold for import tax was mention. To get the Book and Digital Combo costs 19.95, which I guess with tax or whatever breaks the $20 barrier. If one could buy just the Book and not get the Digital copy for 2 dollars or so cheaper, would that get under the $20 limit?

Sorry I don't currently have the receipt, however I can tell you now books are not included in the under 20 dollar no import tax according to customs. One way I can see to reduce cost for some of us that fall under this insane import tax like me is to have Fakku charge importing fees on the site like Rightstuf does (12% shipping to BC Canada). It'd be cheaper to pay a consistent import fee on the site than to be caught by customs which over charges each time. For example my 400 dollars worth of comics and anime only came around 50 dollar import tax when charged by rightstuf during checkout. Rather than 1 book coming to 20 dollar import tax. However that would bring the issue of people not being charged import tax complaining the prices going up slightly.

I sent a spare router to a Canadian friend of mine and we were both surprised by the duty fees in Canada when importing. It cost him $40 to retrieve it after I spent $50 to mail it.

I've seen some Canadians on here purchase the books individually to prevent the duty fee. @myurton-4045440 have you had success with that?

Though I suppose you only purchased one book initially based on the cost that you explained.

Every book they charge me roughly 19 dollars. This time it came with 2 books so they charged me around 37~
Last time they charged me 19 for 1 book.
And the time before another 19 for 1 book.

Every Single Time.

Are those with the import fees only doing it via cash on delivery? It may be something related to that, maybe?

Otherwise, that's really weird. Maybe they found out fakku has had some loli stuff, and by that, they are now sweeping all the books, just to make sure. Then charging for the time to check them or something strange and bullshit?

I myself get charged $23 postage, which does seem a touch excessive for a book, but, I'm not all that phased. Was thinking it might be the same as ops, and would then question it, but it's not.

Might I ask, does jacob use plain packaging? It probably isn't really a part of it, but, could have something to do with it maybe?

From what i know it's just a plain box. However probably the company name Fakku is known. Either that or they somehow put me on an always check list for no reason I can think of.

That sounds more like some stupid handling fees than tax. Or there's something horribly wrong with Canada's tax system since 34$ tax on a 20$ book is just wrong.

Sigh... I think I'm done with physical books. They even teared open the box every single time. And the wrapping to flip through the books.

Slayer lives north of Vancouver... I don't think he was charged custom fees. The buyfag guide said only if the total is over 60$ on the customs form.

Well... it was only 1 book and I was charged just today. It's pretty realistic to me since it happened just now.

There's an import tax to Canada? So are you saying you get charged money when you pick up the book? Is that normal?

Yes there's an import tax from USA to Canada... As in when they come to my door, they come with a CoD (cash on delivery)

Whether they are normal or not... I get taxed 90% of the time from what I seen so far. But this time the price was quite severe.

I've honestly never heard of that, and we ship a lot of stuff to Canada. I'll have to look into it a bit more. Do you live in a city or in the middle of nowhere?

City. Basically Vancouver, BC.

This is crazy... I bought a book for $19.95 and the shipping is $16.50, then i get charged import tax of $19.31

So the total cost of 1 book cost me 55.76... Isn't there anything you guys can do to lower the cost somehow?

As much as i want to support you guys and love hard copies of your books, I'm getting shafted too much by the customs and shipping. So far I bought every single book except the ones not released yet, but I'm in serious doubt I can continue doing this.

Can you please set up a shop in Canada? ):

One feature that I would like to see is that a purchase of a book results in a free month of FAKKU Gold. So for anyone keeping up with our book releases every month they will basically get FAKKU Gold for free. Thoughts?

If you can combine months by buying multiple books in 1 cart that would be great. I tend to not buy 1 book at a time due to the insane shipping fees. So if buying multiple books gives me multiple month at once I'd love it!

I don't really have a problem with them being on kickstarter. Didn't things that have 18plus content like huniepop get kickstarted? It's kind of a double standard. I can understand them wanting to keep out certain 18plus content though.

But I wouldn't use it myself because I'm at the point where I just read untranslated stuff and support the titles I really enjoy. I'm also not big on the whole crowd funding thing in general. I'm still happy to see things make it over though.

If you are able to read Japanese of course that would be the best :)
I'm sure a lot of people also wish they had the same ability as you.
However since a lot of us don't we depend on fan translations or official licensing from Mangagamer or JastUSA. What this service brings us is more choices on what we want translated and hopefully a faster translation time with good quality once it's funded. Not to mention we will be able to get special rewards such as art books, music, pillow cases and what not.

Obviously this service will also benefit the original companies by opening up a customer base they don't currently support. So it really is up to you whether you want the special rewards and a translated visual novel through an official western market.
