Season 1 was a tight masterpiece that only gets better the more I analyze it and more anime I watch that can never come close to this show. The characters were so awesome....But season 2 was just.....Nothing like season 1.

Season 2 is what season 1 wished it could to be. Well... that's a half-joke. Season 1 had some decent topics, but it was only for the plot and nothing more. Which is why we have what we have now instead of what you hoped it would be.

Episode 12:
Spoiler:
Kirino still has that unreasonable hatred of Manami? And how did Manami get to know these people anyway? And why is Kanako in the harem now? And what the hell is with Saori? And why does this series even bother with confessions and rejections?
Good stuff. Although it's strange to see Dekomori so hung up on Rikka when she seemed fine with things in Depth of Field Extra Phase.

Spoiler:
And that last part, was Hikki about to confess to Yukino?

Spoiler:
Nope. As Yukino's follow-up notes, he was just about to ask if they could be friends. If you think about it, it's actually a really huge change for Hachiman to even ask that.

I'm really happy with how Hachiman is characterized. Especially compared to how quickly Amagami's Tsukasa's domineering attitude towards those useless girls turned into friendship.

Edit:
Episode 13:
Spoiler:
That ended as expected, with Hachiman "winning" but getting disqualified for using dirty tactics. It also highlights how Hachiman's life is quite a bit different from before. People actually notice him now.

Great series.
Episode 12:
Spoiler:
It certainly feels strange to know that Styker is the one that resembles HAL 9000 rather than Chamber.
Episode 12:
Spoiler:
Hachiman's real talk is too strong. Also nice to see Yukino following through on her promise of relying on Yui. I do wonder what Yukino's future plans are. She mentioned she wanted to be like her sister. Does that mean she has decided to do something different then?

Holy Fucking Yes on that last part! Haruto you have redeemed thyself.

Spoiler:
Oh, Sorry for your losses Shoko.

Maybe Shoko will get L-Elf.

Spoiler:
I'm pretty sure L-Elf wouldn't want to fall in love with a woman he plans on killing if she ever becomes an unpredictable element again.

Episode 11:
Spoiler:
Well, didn't expect that. Is this an "I'll take responsibility" action? Or is it a "Valve-tan is now subconsciously controlling me" action? Valve-tan sure as hell is excited about marriage even after she had her fill of rape last episode. I don't think he fell in love with her. He said he'd marry her, but said nothing about love. If he did somehow love her, I doubt he would even be willing to admit it after the rape.
Well, since PMing is still currently screwed up...

A decently animated show. If you remove the Himegami and all the Shinto mysticism nonsense, all you have left is shoujo fluff. Only the two main characters were even remotely compelling, the others were given next to no motivation. The explanation for the Himegami was hilarious.

I'm at episode 5 in this and watching it weekly made me forget too much to understand the new episodes. I was debating on marathon-watching now that its complete, is it worth watching to the end?

Nope. Not at all. Only watch it if you are a massive shoujo fan. Although you might find much humor in episode 9 or 10 where it explains what the Himegami actually is.
Episode 12:
Spoiler:
Okay seriously, not only is Emi helpless this entire fight, but we are also told that her powers are completely ineffective against angels? Just how much does the plot of this show hate Emi!?

Should rename it to Xbox One Eighty.

For further irony, we can call it the Xbox360 as well. All they have done is returned to the direction they were facing this gen, right?

You know, I kind of like the idea of trying to condense material into a single episode, especially since stuff like this travels on well-trodden ground so there's a lot that could be condensed. In practice though, a single episode is not long enough to develop a compelling romance.
Episode 10:
Spoiler:
Suddenly, sports bra fishing. And hiding in a body pillow-OH FUCK TSUKIKO WHEN DID YOU GET SO CLOSE!?

Man, the plot is getting progressively more surreal. Now that the Stony Cat is actively pursuing Youto, it must have some sort of motive. And what's up with the mini-Stony Cat and the Stony Cat in the warehouse disappearing?
Episode 11:
Spoiler:
Kugel doesn't have as much of a God-complex as I thought he would. But maybe he's just hiding it and will reveal that he's batshit insane later. I'm surprised that Rackage showed up again. I have to say that it doesn't feel like there has been a climax built up, so I don't feel particularly excited about the next episode.
Episode 11:
Spoiler:
Did anyone else find it strange that Kanako forgot Kyousuke was Kirino's brother? I mean, there was even that flashback with Ayase and Kanako in the Kosaka household.
Episode 11:
Spoiler:
This anime is amazing. There are a good number of subtle nuances going on in this episode. Most strikingly is Yukino "relying" on Hachiman, but there's also the post-honey bread conversation between Yui and Hachiman.

I might be missing something so I'll re-watch episode 9 after posting this... Well download than re-watch.

Yeah, you need to re-watch episodes 9 and 10.
Spoiler:
1.1
The Evolvers ambassador laughed in the face of international law... on international TV. Lawbreakers are typically called "criminals", are they not? Again, I'm not suggesting the Regulars/Alliance are good guys, but that both sides are jerks.

1.2
Episode 9. Regulars build the first warp gate. They plan on blowing it up after using it. The Evolvers attack to prevent the explosion. It is implied that the Evolvers are successful and use that warp gate.

1.4
Except this is not natural evolution. In fact, we even see the first major test subject capable of living in space despite still looking mostly human. And if the whalesquids could talk, they would have said "This is our home, go away!" instead of mindlessly charging towards the highly advanced robot that was cutting through them very easily.

1.5
"-They are completely useless outside their Machine Caliber, if Ledo is viable candidate for example."
I can see where you are coming from, but it is a matter of relativity. There is both a huge culture difference and a huge technological difference. For example, a person who could be considered useful today, may be useless if they were sent 500 years in the past. Their knowledge and abilities have not changed, but their surroundings dictate in what way they are "useful".
Episode 10:
Spoiler:
Well, I definitely did not see that coming. I just thought we'd have more body-switching antics, but I guess it's not good to leave Valve-tan curious about things. "HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" ... what?

Edit: Derp. The "H"s are just referring to sex. Valve-tan is certainly getting uh... "excited".
Episode 10:
Spoiler:
That bicycle had censorship so strong, it produced a lens flare! But how did Mikagami get that bike to the concert without being arrested in the first place?

Episode 10
Spoiler:
"Machine Calibers" are the humanoid robots right? How were their creation necessary for mankind to remain as humans, without the war I would see no use for them. Construction and transportation? Don't see why they would need weapons or be humanoid. Agriculture and preservation? Still nope. It just seems that the anti-evolutionist started a war that neither side wants to stop, or at the very least, the humans don't want to stop. If space Hideauzes are like the earth ones, then they are simply defending themselves. If offensively attacking, probably under the same mindset Ledo was under a few episodes ago "attack before being attacked".

Spoiler:
A couple things:
1. The "Evolvers" laughed at international law on a worldwide broadcast. Generally, people don't get off so easy after doing what amounts to political suicide. Additionally, the Evolvers did this so mankind could explore space, but regular humans wound up being able to travel in space just as capably. The Regulars also invented a warp gate system, which the Evolvers didn't. And how did the Evolvers react? By attacking the Regulars so that the gate wouldn't be blown up. They wanted to evolve but they wound up using the Regular's technology anyway. The Evolvers also lost (intentionally?) the ability to converse with Regulars. The Regulars may not be "good guys", but the Evolvers aren't exactly a race promoting sunshine and rainbows either.

2. Chamber's dialogue did not necessarily pertain only to Machine Calibers. It was more about "knowledge". The Regulars used their knowledge to improve themselves. On the other hand, Evolvers abandoned all knowledge. The whalequids are primitive compared to the space Hideauze, but are still supposed to be "evolved" humans. Yet they are incapable of communicating with humans and don't display much intelligence beyond the instincts that animals have.

He's always been a soldier, so I don't think the killing was what was affecting him so much as it was the fact that his entire life was a lie. Everything that he has ever known, his goals, his purpose- absolutely everything.

Spoiler:
The imagery from episode 10 implies that it is the killing that is bothering him. Even if we ignore that, nothing has really changed except we know that the Hideauze were once humans a long time ago. The Hideauze threat is still there regardless.
Episode 10:
Spoiler:
Pinion sure did get progressively dumber as the episode went on. Ledo continues to mope around shocked about how he has killed "humans" (but you're not human if you're a pirate I guess). And everyone else mopes about how Ledo has done something "terrible". In an unexpected turn of events, Chamber turns out to have most sensible things to say in this situation. Indeed, the Hideauze can't really be considered human if they abandoned everything that defined them as such to the point where they cannot even communicate with others anymore.

Looks like (episode 10)
Spoiler:
Colonel Kugel chose the "I'm a god" route, and "brainwashed" a whole fleet into his cult of Squid KKK

Spoiler:
Yeah, looks that way. So dumb.
