My team only has uh... 4 star Maid Cat and Kiyohime (3 if you count London Specs NP), and they are just not the right units to use against Avenger because I need a single target NP, not AOE.
That is what I wanted to do, but when I look through my supports for some reason they've changed all of them to Saber Shikis, Tamamos, Jeanne (idiots) and Zhuge Liang. So I had to compromise with a Saber Shiki. Screwed up my stuns in the end so I had to spend a CS (if all goes to plan I would have 1 extra turn to Brave Chain with Scathach and kill Avenger, buuuut I screwed up) to NP him. It was a fun fight though. I was really hoping that he would be 1 million health like a certain dual wielding Arthuria.
Wasn't hard for me. Dante NP-crit Shirou to death, and then it's just a matter of slow roasting Jeanne on a stake.
You can get Ko-Gil from the free gatcha. If you've joined the past few events - if I remember correctly it's the Valentine one - you should have a shit tonne of friend points, which is more than enough to draw a Ko-Gil or two. You just need some patience.
The Phantom stage is only hard because we didn't know the exact difficulty of the battle we'll be facing, and that enemy classes aren't shown except for the final boss'. Otherwise, it is actually pretty easy to beat him too.
In fact I have a last man standing level 30 Caster with 1 HP (Guts CE) at the end of the fight. No Seals used though, just a careless choice of Servants with Okita/Francis frontline. Luckily, I tidied up my CEs a week ago so it seemed like I barely edged a win, but the victory is predetermined already.
This is the first time DW has announced a high difficulty event (although I'm pretty sure the Nero Roman event last year counts too, considering the Servants then aren't too powerful or diverse in class yet), so I'm counting on it to be challenging. Not grindy (the impossible wish EVEN AVALON IS MORE REALISTIC >_>) but challenging.
When you stop yolo rolling I guess? I know a lot of people wasting Quartz on 1 rolls and getting punished for it. It's just bad investment.
Originally I wanted to roll 40 Quartz to make an attempt at [] (I have 4 5 Star Sabers up to this point so the chances of me getting her is quite the high probability), but decided later that I don't need to. My reasoning was:
1) [] is an anti-mob Servant (which is not what I needed because I'm currently stacked with anti mob 5 Stars), and unfortunately not a very good one due to Instant Death being too OP (an AOE one no less) and must be regulated, and her 5 Star rarity. Unless [] is literally your wife is real life you are just not going to get NP5 without spending a ludicrous amount of money.
Of course she has a ridiculously powerful skill (at max level, her 2nd skill can heal 8k HP with 4 CD only) and is practically the Offensive Jeanne of the whole cast (unkillable and is able to threaten instakill again and again with her rather high NP Gain), but that raises her viability to a 7/10 at best.
If you want to anti-Heroic Spirit consistently, normal Shiki is actually a far better choice.
2) The CEs this time around is terrible. Other than Triple Bound Field, Repeat Magic and Brilliant War Dancer, practically all the other CEs are space hoggers with no real value whatsoever. The only other CE that might be useful is Mature Gentleman (a sign that Story Quests are going to include instakill units?), but even then they're pretty lackluster. I would actually pick a 3 Star CE with similar effects but lower cost and easier to collect and ascend.
3) There are a hell lot of Summon Tickets that you can use this time, a total of 14 or 15 I think? That's 60 Quartz worth of rolls right there, without the guarantee of a 5 Star but eh, from these Tickets I have all the Event/Roll Only CEs that raises the drops (Mature Gentleman, Brilliant War Dancer, Repeat Magic) so I don't need to roll for more.

If you think the Valentine's Day event is confusing, this one is even more so simply because there are soooo many conditions to unlock rooms and quests and shit. Worse, the servers slow as fuck.
I really want to see a sequel to Baldr Sky, or at least something after that story, but seeing familiar terms such as Designer Child seem to suggest otherwise. I dislike it. Baldr Sky Zero was already confusing enough since I never understood where our protagonist disappear to and why he never showed up during Baldr Sky events (other than the fact that he doesn't exist yet 4th wall breaking speaking).

What do you guys think? Personally I would absolutely love to play VNs on mobile phones because it's a lot more convenient for me. Continuity of degraded immersion over the complete breaking of immersion, I've found out, is what I prefer.Hey welcome back.
I'm fine with being disappointed, a combination of low expectations, a drastically reduced exposure to VN content and just overall lethargy towards the VN industry in general has helped.
Even if I do get disappointed like in the case of Tokyo Necro I find comfort in the fact I at least gave it a shot before letting first-impressions wrestle my opinions too heavily.
I would say it's good to be back, but seeing all these 'subscription' and 'book' tags really makes me miss the old days...
I'm slowly transitioning towards VNs and point-and-clicks on Steam (played fault milestone, An Octave Higher, Orion: A Sci-fi Visual Novel, Primodia, Read Only Memories, Sunrider, so on and so on). Many are pretty good. Most are no longer as lengthy as what we're used to because the current commercial model simply cannot support the development.
In short masterpieces like Baldr Sky highly likely won't happen any time soon... So sad. I will give anything for another Baldr Sky type of game...

By the way, Sabers love me a lot apparently. I have 4 5* Sabers with Nero Bride's addition (plus 1 Francis, plus 1 Scatatch) even though I was rolling for Jack, which is a Servant Class I'm desperately lacking at.I'm F2P, so I guess I shouldn't feel too sad about the E rank of my EX Luck, eh?
Spoiler:
I have never drawn a five in the seven months I've been playing this game. I can qualify to be a Lancer at this rate..
Well, I simply draw for Servants I really need, and before I always make sure I save at least 40 Quartz (before dumping it all for Scatatch and failing... but she came to me during new year, so). In order, I have Arthuria (my first, my Saber, my forever), Alteria, Francis, Okita, Scatatch and now Nero Bride. I never yolo roll and only use Summoning Tickets for single summons, so maybe that's a reason why I have better 'luck' than most...?
Then again, I am lucky, so. XD
Nope, he didn't. I don't think the schedule is properly shown in the game announcement so most people didn't realize there's such a thing until it's too late.

For the past year I've been playing text-based adventure games on my mobile phone (Choice of Games). In a sense, it has replaced my interest for Visual Novels on PC due to its convenience, and a severe lack of good quality Visual Novels in general on mobile (I've only been able to identify Loop The Loop, Stellaren, and Narcissu. I don't play Korean titles).
What do you guys think? Personally I would absolutely love to play VNs on mobile phones because it's a lot more convenient for me. Continuity of degraded immersion over the complete breaking of immersion, I've found out, is what I prefer.

Loop the Loop, a free Japanese Android Visual Novel game.
This is a complete Visual Novel series consisting a total of 5 Episodes. It talks about a group of 12 people trapped inside a mansion as they attempt to escape this timeless, seemingly eternal dimension. People who like 999 Hours or similar titles should like this as well, and in my opinion this is a rare title which storyline stands just as strong as these infamous games. Moreover, while Episode 1 naturally ends with the protagonists escaping the mansion, Episode 2 and onwards actually tells the story after the incident (as well as the protagonists getting trapped AGAIN in a different setting, but the same transdimensional Loop), making character relationship very interesting to explore as they falter or grow stronger as they are challenged again and again by future incidents. Certainly it is the best Visual Novel mobile game I have played to date.
Unfortunately, as mentioned above this is a full Japanese title with no English port. I haven't been dabbled in Visual Novels for a very long time, but there may be mobile automated translators you can use, or you can choose to install on emulators like Bluestack and operate a machine translator from there.
For those who can read Japanese, I strongly suggest installing Loop the Loop and play it. If you're a love a great story, you will not regret reading this.
