Too many to count, but it should be near 200+. At recent years I've almost never played them because of work and the dip in quality (and really boring genres), but my favorite...
Series wise, Venus Blood. I keep on going back for every game they released!
Individually, Baldr Sky as THE best visual novel that combined both action gameplay and story together.
Strategy favorite includes Sengoku Rance.
Turn-based favorites is Big Bang Age.
Eushelly series is pretty good, but ironically they consume so much time that I just can't finish any of its recent products.
Music-based No.1 will always be Kira Kira. Nothing else but Symphonic Rain came close to it.
Emotional Slice of Life VN No.1 is Clannad, end of story. Ever 17 is also awesome but gets repetitive (the plot twists though, especially when you're experiencing it the first time...).
Best stiff-animated VN goes to Muv Luv Alternative WITHOUT QUESTION, and it will likely stay there for a looooooooooooong time.
Best visual VN? Just look at Type Moon. Mahotsukai no Yoru is a wet dream WAY ahead of its time.
Best sci-fi VN is Muv Luv Alternative again, though this is pretty obvious.
Best mystery VN. I was going to say Phoenix Wright, but then they kind of don't count as one (I didn't play the original 2001 VN), so Dangan Ronpa. 999 Hours feels good, until you realize that the ending is so, SO bad.
Best gore VN - My imagination, duh! Seriously though, I really seldom play these kind of VNs because they don't really appeal that much, but if I have to choose it will be MinDead Blood and Gore Screaming Show. In fact, I highly recommend Gore Screaming Show because the story is pretty good (MinDead is too).
Cartagra and Kara no Shoujo belongs in the excellent category, but doesn't really stand out as a top contender due to certain flaws. This is EXTREMELY obvious in Kara no Shoujo 2, where the VN is unable to stimulate the reader (namely, me) in any way after 3 hours of reading. And fuck sequels to alternate endings btw, like WTF are they even thinking?
As for Dungeon Crawling, for this year I'd recommend 剣ã®è¡—ã®ç•°é‚¦äºº ~白ã®çދ宮. Has a fresh concept to obtaining loot, clean interface, and really challenging battles.
And finally, Adventure. I'm actually surprised how little of them remained in my mind. The problem is that most VNs love to trap their characters in just one particular setting (do you realize that it's almost ALWAYS a city?), and even in a fantasy world there's no real sense of exploration to it - the world map is almost always just for show. Eushelly is one of the few companies that tries really hard to expand a grand adventure throughout the world with actual depiction of different lands and countries, so huge kudos to them.
But without a doubt, the top No.1 adventure-genre VN even until today is Ein no Aselia. I don't think I'll ever play a second adventure-genre VN again that touches my heart so. It's also one of the few VNs that sychronized gameplay and storytelling well. Classic, heroic, and a beautiful story that I will never forget.
EDIT: I forgot, but of course the best mecha VN goes to Demonbane. I think it also wins the coolest VN ever in history award, but then the company always make cool-as-fuck VNs so I can't give a verdict.

Hmm. Maybe it's the video, but the animation doesn't seem too smooth in my opinion. There are clear moments of freezes as the characters make their moves... I hope this is just a video problem.
Mobile games? Check. Finished Loop The Loop series - EXCELLENT VN series btw; and it really knows when it should end its story instead of dragging things on - among other more... boring but repeatable games. You know, CoC. GGZ. Cytus. Did I mention that my handphone resetted and so I lost my Love Live account permanently? That's one way to cure an addiction - just rip it out of his hands and see him scream bloody murder.
Visual Novels! Like holy shit this is a year of insane boredom. Other than Ken no Nihon Jin and Baldr Sky Zero, I seriously cannot remember a second VN that's worth remembering. Oh wait, there's Material Brave Ignition, but the story's about as generic as - I don't know what to say. Where's the creativity? Where are the stories like 999 Hours, Secret Game Killer Queen, Eian no Aselia (best - classic - EVER), MLA, Kira Kira (STILL THE BEST MUSIC VN EVER - though I guess Symphonic Rain is on par, but then Kira Kira's storyline is so relatable to real life)... Have we passed the golden age of Visual Novels already? Are nukiges and generic romances' all that's left now??
PC games! Currently I'm playing Valkyria Chronicles on PC, which has an insanely positive review on Steam. If only my laptop isn't a piece of shit running with in saddeningly low 1366 x 768 resolution that really ruins the aesthetics of the game (fucking Youtubes at 480ps have better graphics). Still, one of the hardest games I've played (the realization that I'm a really fail tactician) really - WALKTHROUGHS (copycat) UNITE!
The Banner Sage is AWESOME. Replayed it about 4 times; the atmosphere and gameplay fits ridiculously well, and the sense of hopelessness it tries to induce is just perfect. For those who can afford - and this is really cheap too - to splash cash and buy games, I recommend you to try. The only sad thing about this is that the sequel doesn't have a date (next year supposedly, but that could mean between 3 to 12 months of wait...).
Point - I'm so bored out of my fucking mind. I'm devouring so many light novels just to sustain my mind (in replacement of VNs) that I lost count since... forever (like really - 20? 30? Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatte Iru Darou ka is epic, Familiar Zero is so fucking sad because the author died of cancer because he can finish his absolutely LEGENDARY work, the recent Only Sense Online is pretty cool, GOSICK is okay, B.A.D for the bloodthirsty, blah blah blah blah). Recently I even picked up a totally random story titled, 'The Story of Me Turning Into a Slime) because I ran out of shit to read. Again. Naturally.
Ah... so bored...

I know the original's good, but I'm seriously surprised that they can milk 4 fan discs (or more?) out of this series.
Eh, depends on your definition I guess. As a person she died happy with the troubles plaguing her since she became a King finally resolved, and she no longer once to erase her very existence in an attempt of self-sacrifice that seems shittier than Archer's. That's a better death than most people would have, for sure.
... Suddenly I really want to watch F/SN in movie style. While the other 2 routes are more entertaining than Fate route, it was also the most innocent and happy one out of them all. A summer dream seems to describe it perfectly.

I could use a link for the 18+ version, Cross the Future.I'm not sure if there is one, I went to the company website and they only sell all ages.
It would break my heart to see Riho get Ntr'd by the Trap master.

There was one some time ago, I think it was Kaimax who gave me a link? Or was he trying to find it himself? I remembered saying that I've finished the All Ages and don't mind the 18+, but in the end... <_<There isn't a +18 version. Actually, a long time ago I said on the uploads section that there was another version named "Deardrops with Cross the Future" that featured ero content and that it stood as the +18 version of "d2b VS DEARDROPS -Cross the Future-".
Well, it has been proved that I was misinformed. "Deardrops with Cross the Future" is a bundle that includes both "d2b VS DEARDROPS -Cross the Future-" and "Deardrops". No modifications to these games has been made. Since "Deardrops" features ero content it was natural for "Deardrops with Cross the Future" to be considered as a +18 game and make people make the wrong assumptions.
So Zolnir, I guess you'll have to resort to fan-works :P
Aw man, oh well. That is unfortunate, but I suppose I can find something else >_>, and here I was hoping to see some of my favorite, but perhaps content that I haven't seen yet...
Funnily enough, the All Ages content for the Kira Kira and Deardrops series tend to have cooler CGs and even tonnes of new soundtracks though.

Well, that doesn't change things really. It was good enough that I want to watch its sequel, so that is that.
Fate Stay Night was first published at year 2004. Nasu wrote most of the story while he was in high school. Fate/Zero was published at late 2006~2007, and it will be a real surprise if after 2 years of gap Urobochi only manages to write something equal or less to the original F/SN.
To call F/SN having bad writing is like a high schooler calling a primary schooler's award winning essay shit. Which is to say, why don't you write something that's won high praise and admiration and love even after 10 years of time, and then start the whining again.

Went through the prologue of Muv Luv Alternative, and a few scenes of its unsaid sequel 終ã‚りãªã夿°¸é ãªã‚‹éŸ³å¾‹.
I can't believe how it nearly brought tears to my eyes. I also can't believe how long it has been since I find a VN worth reading...

That was a great episode. Now for Berserker to show up!
I just realized that every Holy Grail War Saber has fought in the main series, she was ALWAYS handicapped. Poor girl; I can't fathom how she supposedly has a high A rank Luck stat and still suffer a ridiculous amount of misfortune every time.

The important thing here is whether they can present Emiya's coolest heroism ever (well actually he's the coolest in Heaven's Feel, but that route is also dark as shit) in UBW.
... Sheeeet, now I have to choose between downloading the last 2 Argevollen episodes or get episode 0 right away.
EDIT: Uhah, that was really good. Wished that the combat sequence would be longer, but that's definitely good enough for me.

One of the better episodes that doesn't intentionally drag longer than it should (some of the previous episodes are absolutely atrocious, like how that guy had to scream ten seconds to die from Kirito's lightsaber). The acrobatics is unnecessary in my opinion though.
Currently playing the handphone VN Loop The Loop. It's free, but very well made and interesting. Plus, given my working life it's much easier to play on phone than on PC nowadays...
