REP ETIQUETTE

I'd like to start off by saying that just like real etiquette, this is completely unimportant unless society deems it important.

Not many people actually care about rep because we know most people get it just for uploading doujins and videos. This does not in any way represent one's character.

Some are so desperate to be accepted by FAKKU that they create several accounts and bonus rep themselves til oblivion. (JACOB isn't even first in rep!!!)

Now, I have stepped on a quite a few toes in FAKKU... (at one point i was down to -7 rep). Now i would just like everyone to visualize someone giving negative rep... the mere thought of it makes me cringe because of how pathetic it is. Again, i do not care about rep but it makes me wonder what kind of person would do it.

Here's my logic: If you are pissed off at someone, the only way to knock him down a few pegs is to explain systematically, coherently and concisely why he's wrong and a complete and utter douche, otherwise you are wasting your time.

Arguments:

1)When i get owned by someone i do feel embarrassed but i learn and that's good.
2)When i get -rep, i don't even know what or who happened and why the upset.
3)Why give -rep when you could give +rep? There is always someone who deserves +rep more than that guy that you are secretly pissed at.
4)It's just pathetic to give -rep.



I created this thread so that everyone could voice arguments FOR or AGAINST my opinion and add more rules to rep etiquette.

PS, if you minus rep for fun, I'm not talking about you. But i don't understand what's so fun about it... your just pressing a button that won't affect anything unless whoever has the rep actually cares that he has rep...

I'm still holding strong to the option of removing the -rep from the system..

Will have less drama than having it in the system.
the only drama that can happen if it's only +rep:
1. self-rep abuse
2. rep show off
3. rep whore

It's amazing how people get so overworked about reppin xD (It's exactly like with the thumbs up/down on youtube)... Like you i don't really pay attention to rep points but i might get curious one day if someone decided to -rep me...

This pretty much sums up my opinion. Never given -rep, never will.

Same, I'm sure even if someone pissed me off or tried to troll me I wouldn't. people like klown, lazy, kaimax, nashrakh, rbz, ect, who contribute to fakku are more deserving of my plus rep than neg rep from some stupid argument I might have had or a troll.

I used to give people - rep all the time when i first stared posting on the forums, but then i figured, "Might as well give em to people who actually deserve it".
Ever since then I think ive only given out one or two - reps.

Ive only given out 1 -rep, but the person deserved it, I +rep people if I feel like they deserve it, or if they get -repped for something stupid

This have been argued so many times its starting to get lame. I for one agree that the rep system should just be abolish. Saying something stupid or pissing some fuckturd even if it 10 years ago can still reflect your current status. Take my case for example, as you dickwads can see I have the highest -reps of all active users today (I think) but most of you don't know that -40 of that came from Jacob (The multiple accounts caseSep. 20, 2009). By this and most of the time fags judges me due to my high -reps. I used to have +27 reps mostly gotten from motemote and my fellow friends IRL whom also a Fakku members.

Nah, that can't be it.

I couldn't care less about the rep. It holds no meaning, as the few I have were for miscellaneous crap, and I've even lost a few cause I posted music some dude didn't like.

Utterly worthless, really.
