"my friend said being gay is a virus" what the hell is ur friend, 2 year old? or is that giving him way too much credit O_o
I'm straight and I support gay marriage.
It's none of our business to tell them they're not allowed to even marry at all! Who are you, mini hitlers in makings?
And yes, godwin'd but drives the point home.
How would you like if the situation was reversed. Lets say, today, but, gays and lesbains is the majority of the populace, and humans can reproduce asexually. Straight people is now in the minority, and they outlaw your right to marry? On silly grounds because its oh so immoral? =P
Love is love. As long both parties consent, I won't be gay ever, period. Unless i consent to dating a guy then i'm gay. I'm 21, i have yet to find a guy or girl I really like, but, if I do , then well, shit, thats love.
But my sexual preference is girls. and sooo.... yep.
Can't think of anything else, wanna food, me hungry.

...My vote...goes to yes.
I, personally, do not see an issue /w gay marriage. I think I saw one when I was about...12? years old, but I've matured since then.
If two idiots hate people love each other enough to torture themselves get married, then I say go for it.
The whole concept of a "Man and a Woman" is an old, outdated thing. The whole "Holy Matrimony, Under God" actually makes my skin crawl.
The whole controversy about is was started, and is being continued by, rich white southern fucktards who have had a bible surgically implanted into their anus, and thus cannot get with the more secular times we've been enjoying since about 1850 A.D.

The simplest way to put it is there is no reason beyond religious conviction to deny them the opportunity.
"Being gay is unnatural". Watch any group of animals and you'll see gay behavior (i.e. a male fucking another male).
"Same-sex couples aren't the optimum environment in which to raise children." And a household with a single parent is? At least with a gay couple even though they may be missing a balanced set of role models at least they have two incomes in the household to attend to the child's needs. Gay men tend to be better educated and have higher paying jobs than their heterosexual counterparts.
"Gay relationships are immoral." Says who? The bible? The Bible has absolutely no standing in American law, as was made clear by the intent of the First Amendment (and as was very explicitly stated by the founding fathers in their first treaty, the Treaty of Tripoli, in 1791). Any attempt to use a religious text as a base of law (or government action) is a violation of the separation of church and state.
"Same-sex marriage would start us down a "slippery slope" towards legalized incest, bestial marriage, polygamy and all kinds of other horrible consequences". A classic example of the reductio ad absurdum fallacy. A classic scare tactic - making the end scenario so scary and so horrible that the first step should never be taken. Such are the tactics of the fear and hatemongers. A form of gay marriage has been legal in Scandinavian countries for years. Why haven't they "slid" yet?
Honestly, unless you want use religion as law then you break the law by doing that. There is no reason against gay marriage.

I'm not voting... this isn't a topic for me to decide too lightly. Not to take lightly? Why? You're probably still going to continue to get fucked in the ass whether you say yes or no.
Wait, by "not take lightly" you were inferring that you were gay, right? Or are you just stuck up with matters that don't concern you?
On topic, I don't believe in marriage at ALL! But whatever! If it's going to be, then let it be with all who want it.
Whether they fuck women or men. I don't care. I'm not really in the middle of it so it doesn't concern me much. Give them their freedom. What they do in the bedroom is up to them.

As Stephen Colbert once said, "What they do in the privacy of my imagination is their own business." Fun Fact: AIDS was originaly called "The Gay Plauge."

Or are you just stuck up with matters that don't concern you?Oh, so now you're angry? Listen. How does what other MEN do in THEIR bedrooms to EACHOTHER affect you just because you live in the U.S.? Unless you see it, or experience it, it's not you problem.
The only way it would truly become your concern is if it was harming you. WHIIICH you might have already guessed means that you would be experiencing it to have it harm you. In other words having gay sex. In the ass. You.

The only ways gays will ever have an effect on straight people is through shows like queer eye for the straight guy or things like drive-by redecorating.

edit: And after reading other's comments which hold water, yes, I believe gays can marry in the sense of obtaining the legal status and receiving the legal benefits. It grates against my romantic ideals, but rationally and legally it makes sense. And the only real reason to marry someone is to receive the legal benefits that comes from marriage; people divorce all the time, and marriage since then has lost quite a bit of meaning.

[size=10]Gay men tend to be (BUT AREN'T ALWAYS) better than straight; at least personality wise. They don't feel a need to act tough and bad ass, which is something that most "Straight" guys seem to act.
That's one reason I'd support gay marriage and gays in general.
In addition to that, if they wanna be married, just let them and shut up about your beliefs. Just because one group believes they shouldn't marry, doesn't mean that they shouldn't be able to. Because there's another group that believes they should be able to marry.
If you don't believe in gay marriage, don't have a gay marriage yourself... but allow others to do so.[/h]

The way you're acting now, you're either a woman, or gay.

@GourmetPrince: That's very funny! So now I'm a woman as well. This just gets better and better. So, by acting a certain way, I'm gay or a woman...
You just criticized gays and women with that careless comment, did you even realize that? Just what are you even thinking about saying something like that? Don't toss the word "gay" around lightly like that you inconsiderate prick.

Agh, but I don't have the "Don't feed the trolls" picture that would go so well here.

That is all. That quote is all I need.

Not that I like to get involved in internet rage storms, but there's one point I'd like to address.
GourmetPrince asks why does this topic concern other people unless we physically experience it. Well what I think g-money was talking about was not the physical aspect of gay people getting it on, (which really doesn't concern anyone else), but the issue of gay marriage. (If I'm wrong, sorry)
Yes, it does concern other people. Why does it concern me as a US citizen? Because I care about civil rights in my country, I care about freedom to do what you want within reason, and I care about the government keeping the fuck out of my personal life, marriage, and bedroom (I'm not gay, in case that implied anything). Thats why I rage when bullshit like Prop 8 is passed. I'm never going to be happy, when my country forces the viewpoint of intolerant religious assholes on minorities. So in that sense, it damn well concerns me, and should concern everybody.

Though it doesn't directly involve you, the action taken against the issue is a representation of freedom being taken away in general. That's what I get from that. It was an intelligent contribution unlike anything I've heard from g-money so far. Though, that may have been what he MEANT to say.
G-money, you're getting pissed off at the mere mention of the word "gay". You're making yourself out to be one of these "religious assholes" Ryuji mentions. State what you have to say without beating around the bush with shit like "I'm not comfortable talking about this - I don't really know, I have mixed feelings" All that shit. That just makes it easier to tease you and watch you get so pissed off. If you oppose it, SAY SOMETHING, even if it's just a small thought.
