The latest chapter is 122...
Because of the past few chapters I was seriously thinking of dropping the manga or at least but it on hold. It seems to me that the protagonists are so self righteous and so full of themselves. Placing their ideals and beliefs onto others. I already put Air Gear on hold (prob gonna drop it) for reason not unlike these ones. (though for that series there are a lot more reasons)
Lately when I read it.... it seems certain things where really childish and were pointless. Well this manga had a bunch of stuff like that before.. but now it seems more obvious.

I don't understand why people say this is lame or boring, and I won't force my opinion too.
But I just marathoned from the 1st to the latest 123rd in one day, and it was actually from 11pm yesterday till now. and honestly it gave me the "I WANT TO DO THIS TOO" felling... lol
The only advise that I can give out to those still reluctant is "try reading a bit more, and try looking from the POV of a mangaka"
and from what I read in other sites comments. "Don't try to compare this with Deathnote"
EDit:
I was actually excited when they properly introduced an antagonist.

if you mean the latest chapter then sure.
what I think the problem is.. that what he is doing may be wrong, seeing that all the guy is doing is being a copy cat with no real ideas of his own. and the fact that he seemed a bit too arrogant. then again theres so much stuff out there its hard not to come off as a copy cat. what made me mad was how the protagonist was saying that it was wrong to consult people online. It was indeed underhanded what the guy did. but to be bitching about the way he came up with stuff for his manga is a different story.
It kind of felt like they were insulting people who make mamga's, comics or just stories in general with their friends online. Not saying that they were but I am saying I got that feeling from it.
though I totally agree with them about the whole editor thing. It is one thing to give suggestions and stuff but that one chapter awhile back pissed me off. Where that editor they had before mad them do that stupid gag manga. Though the story seemed fair, or rather the concept the actual story and such was shit,

Well, don't know if this applies to real life, but when you, Your friends, your senior mangaka actually slaved away to think and make their own manga with their own power and actually met someone who didn't make it with his own power, I'll be pissed too. And to makes things more complicated there's Saiko's Uncle, who literally died trying to make his "own" manga.
And I think Namamine's action isn't just on the "consulting" level anymore. He ATM cannot make anything without consulting, even 2 out of his 50 drops out from project because they realize that it's wrong.
and another thing, it's one thing if 50 people collaborate, but then they have to mock the current industry, that's why both Saiko and Shujin snapped.
Anyway, It must have something to do with code of ethics or something, just like in any type of industry. That's the whole reason almost everbody is mad about how he does things.
It's like using steroids for sports.
EDIT BUMP
New chapter is in, and Namamine is forced to face the truth and so does Nakai.

Not saying your wrong and I actually concur with your statement. But I still stand by what I said about Bakuman still seems to be going downhill (for me) though I will keep reading due to it being not as bad as Air Gear. Though I must say that if anyone is annoying its the two protagonists.
Haven read the new chapter yet

to be honest I never liked the manga that was originally submitted by that nanamine guy. I never thought it was good, intriguing but not good. to me it was like when the main characters did that gag manga. Their editor at that time was a dipshit. While I do think its good to listen to your editors. It's the fact that they HAD to listen to them that annoyed me. So thats why I somewhat supported nanamine... though he was an asshole and wrote shitty manga.

Finally, a real showdown. though we know who's going to win :) though i wonder will it be a flat out win or will his rank be pulled upwards?

Well, can't say much about this, except they were still "newcomers" and thought that listening to their editors was the RIGHT WAY to raise their ranks. Of course they rebelled eventually.
And he's not a "dipshit", he just got too biased with gag-mangas and thought they were the only safe way to secure the job.

You should be thinking of a way to support the writer and help them out. Not force your own views onto them and make it so they write something according to your own personal preference. While it makes sense if a fan became their editor and wanted to see the manga go into a direction they would find interesting. You shouldn't get in the way of their creative drive.
Then again I know he might not have had that intent. I still dislike him for what he did.
On a side note.
Read all the current manga. Darn that guy lost his mind. Though I still get the feeling that they are too self righteous.
When that nanamine guy came out with his first manga I was very skeptical. Due to the fact that all the characters within the manga kept going on about how awesome it was or something along those lines. When I got to the part where you actually read it I thought it was interesting but didn't think it was as great as they made it out to be. Then again maybe that's because I am not into that genre, I did however feel that the manga had too many stuff packed into it.
It is one thing to have a bunch of stuff happen over time, but what he did was stuff tons of stuff into each chapter.

This week's chapter was... random. Hoping for a good arc, unlike the nanamine one.

Need another Arc that has Mashiro X Azuki, or simply, an Arc as exciting before PCP was serialized.

Yeah, I kinda don't like the looks of a Nakai ark. He annoyed me a bit since his first appearance but just got worst as time went on.
Really wish for another arc revolving around Mashiro and Azuki, or maybe an arc about companies fighting for a PCP anime.
