Abstract vocaloid bad-assery?

Count me in. This one of the best (and certainly most interesting) anime news this year for me.

We are all anxiously waiting for the 24th.

Well, the hype of this OVA alone has already done its job for me.
I'm definitely buying one of those Black Rock Shooter figmas, and will also purchase the Dead Master one that come out later this year, presumably October/September.

btw just asking is this an OVA or a movie??

Ok, could someone explain to clueless me what BRS is?

The only thing I know is that it's related to Vocaloid or something but I'm still confused.

The plot, characters, w.e have nothing at all to do with vocaloid. There is a resemblence in black rock shooter to Miku, but thats it, a resemblence. Only the song, Black Rock Shooter, was sung by Miku. BRS is bascially an animation based off the drawings by huke for the original song. Of course, at first they wanted a 12 episode anime, then a 6 episode anime, but in the end they give us a 50 minute OVA. Lovely. Here's the plot in a nutshell from MAL which is from the BRS official site:



Anyway, I AM DISSAPOINT. With my small knowledge of japanese i watched the raw. The 50 minutes weren't enough to explain everything. They even left a cliffhanger ending. Now, if they continue with a series, this would be excellent, so I certainly hope they do (and then introduce IBRS so I can claim her) but if they dont...then I really am dissapoint.

Nope, what was originally one-season anime (12~13 episodes) was shortened into one, ONE, OVA episode, which is why the episode is twice as long as regular OVAs, in order to somehow make up for the originally 4+ hours for the season.

Edit: Well, it's still a pilot series so there still might be more of the anime to come.

I just finished watching this and i want more >O plus i cried for some reason. :S XD Still pretty fucking awesome anyway.

Omit the high school girl drama and just make this a fightin animu plz.

My thought exactly, I found myself just sitting watching it and commenting on small things that could have been taken out in order to just explain more about everything, I was also quiet surprised how fast an entire year went by.

Side note, seeing all the figures etc for this title I woulda thought that this meant it would be an actual series with at least 12 episodes, but an OVA series...still will continue to watch to try to get an understanding and if I am still upset with the results I can at least say I saw it all and then then give me 2 cents.
