Gakuen Mokushiroku: High-school of the Dead //Zombies!

Ah, this episode was much better than last week's. The introduction to this episode, I hope to see plenty more of those characters in the future.
I also liked how this episode showed even more how easily society can become chaotic from a single crisis.
Shizuka really stole the show this episode, though. She's just so cute, and I can't wait to see the bathing scene next week. :)

Lol, each time the water hose sprayed, it knocked off the delinquent students into the river. THAT, was funny as hell. (I've also got a dark sense of humor.)
As for the fight sequence, I am in awe of the goddess's skill in swordplay. Then when Takashi comes in to help, he and Saeko pull off a GIGA DRILL BREAKER!!!
Shido sensei is still a slick bastard. ED was good, but not really fitting for the show's theme. And doubletap ftw.

Lyrics, yes/maybe. Music? Nope. I was hoping for ballad-like songs or orchestral pieces or even heavy rock. The song smacked of Jpop.

True, but I never could imagine Shizuka having a heavy metal theme song. Happy-Go-Lucky J-pop is definitely her thing.
Or, maybe it was a prelude song kind of thing for next week's episode, which looks like it will be a little bit more lighthearted in nature.

I'm pretty sure next weeks episode is going to be just as gruesome and stark as the episodes before, if you know your manga.
I'm going to have to listen to the ED song again, but nothing about it was memorable, which goes to my argument that it wasn't really a good song to use.

Nah. I decided that I was going to wait to read the manga once I learned of the anime's announcement. I'll definitely read it when the anime is done, however, so you are probably correct.
And it probably wasn't the best song to use. I'm not sure what they are going for with changing up the ED every week.

They're basically taking a Jpop artist, Kurosaki Maon, and showcasing her talent through the anime. A weird way to market a musician, but I've seen weirder marketing tactics.
edit: based on how the episode ended, I can see why the producers went with a light-hearted song at the end.

To keep this short and simple I loved episode 5 since it was a major improvement from
the last one and brought more kickass awesomeness to the series.

Ah, gotcha, and I thought that was why they went with the more light-hearted song.

Curious and Wondering
Episode 5 was more of a character development setting that continued from Episode 3. Which is a good thing too, since I like character developments and see their stories as a whole.
You know, I kinda like how Takashi's inner monologue is done, almost retrospectively. More like the bottom line for each episode since Episode 1.

Whatched the fifth episode today. Much better than the last one, both in terms of hilarity and actual development, especially about society going ape shit in times of crisis...and the hard-handed methods of keeping it in line (the scene with police knocking off juveniles into the water...considering the height, and the water pressure in the hose...I'm pretty sure they were killed, or at least maimed.)
And most of all, that creepy, comically-evil teacher got it handed to him. That made my entire day.
And I'd have to agree with Takashi's monologues. Kinda makes you think about it sometimes.
Overally it's coming out as a pretty solid show, as long as you don't take it too seriously.
Now, I eagerly await the next episode and bath scene. Moar Saeko I say.

Nice pace to this episode!! Loved it!! Started of comical and ended in a serious tone. Shows you just how human minds are afflicted during times of great despair. How people must obey orders, whether it is moral or not.

Saeko is just too damn hot, I'm looking forward to her and Takashi getting closer.
Also I enjoyed him and the girl making out, even if we didn't see it, I dunno why anime does that when characters kiss, is it taboo or something?
Anyway excited that the loli character of the group shall be introduced soon, makes me enjoy the show more than I already do.
