I haven't given much thought to how I feel about the characters in this, or how I feel about Madoka after requesting that last wish.
What I did go through with this anime is amazement. I really avoided this anime at first because I was given a picture and judged it as stupid right off the bat.
Which admittedly does not give the series justice at all when first looking at it. I imagined a loli-ecchi Cardcaptor Sakura.
My opinion then changed when I watched the first episode and the music was playing "geez, this really reminds me of Kajiura... Oh it IS Yuki!" not to mention right off the bat it proved to me it wasn't another normal magical girl anime.
The Kyuubey creeped me out throughout the show. I thought it was strange with how passive aggressive it was. Pretty much like a devil whispering in your ear "I'll give you whatever you wish for, just give me your soul and I'll turn you into a magical girl" every opportunity it got. "Your friend is going to die, you know if you just make a wish..." "Your life is in danger... you know if you just make that wish..." "You'll be the strongest magical girl ever... just give me that wish..." I was glad my suspicions didn't go to waste when I got further into the anime.
I'm so happy with this series, it's been a while where I just had to sit down and watch all 10 episodes at once. I couldn't put it down. Every time I expected something to happen, I was surprised and left shocked.
I'm not going to get into a debate about how morally fucked up these girls were and a psychological evaluation - I just wanted to express my complete satisfaction with this anime so far. I'm already in the process of getting some doujinshi of it shipped to my house :)

I mean you go up to any 8th grade girl with a "I'll give you a wish, all you have to do is receive magical powers" and they'll accept in seconds. All the characters act way too mature and independent, which doesn't suit well with their faces...
