Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~

Cal is the gal that this series desperately needed. Every episode has now become more lively and enjoyable compared to than of its first half when gloomy Ein was still around. As far as I know, she’s the best thing that’s ever happened in the series and Miyuki Sawashiro’s voice acting adds more to her charms. :D

Episode 14: (just a few things)


The series needs to bring about some suspense instead of killing the excitement... if there’s one thing that could prevent this series from getting an award, it has to be its predictability, and not to mention its mediocre animation.

I'm kinda pissed that Ein is alive o_O , it might mess up Zwei's head, and he finaly became bad-ass o_O

Episode 15 out. Comfirmed that Ein is indead alive >.<. Damnit why couldn't she die -_-.

Woot, long range sniping really takes me back to watching the movie "Wanted" again. =D You go Ein~ Get your head back to gear Reiji, you got 2 murder weapons ladies to deal with now.

I think he wants to screw over Ms. Mcunnin basicly. Poor Zwei, he looks messed up now o_O

Surely, if not for Cal, (like Reiji was before he had met her) I probably would have gone insane with this series, much to say that I would have dropped it a long time ago.

Hands down, the most critical and at the same time the most poignant episode for me. I believe it signifies the turning point that as much as I never would have wanted to come down to, will and must inevitably happen.

Let me just say how much Miyu Irino's voice, imo, is unfit for Reiji's character. From the start I never would have guessed that he'll end up playing the lead role; and yet he's so awesome in portraying one of my favorite characters in another ongoing series that I've been following (as Koh Kitamura in Cross Game). And speaking of characters, you may have realized this from the beginning but in case you didn't, I abhor Ein; that mindless bitch! Not to mention Mr McGuire who has yet to be of much importance.


He was already messed up even when he was still with Ein.

Amm... I think it's cool with Cal in the series - she made Reiji somewhat of a cooler char. He's more... GAR now, imo.

But... I like Ein (don't kill me Hermit).
I just hope Reiji keeps this coolness even when he meets Ein again. I'd hate it if he reverts back into that wuss of a man he was before.

An ill wind blows making me worry about Cal. The upcoming Ali Project OP doesn't help things either (wonder if it'll be any different from the ED ...).

Even though Reiji got a pimp upgrade, he's still a dumbass (hence my Cal-centric worries). Ein x Cal ending FTW ^_^

I've been patiently anticipating it. 10 episodes left at most and there's still no signs of either the OP & ED changing, the hell with that!?

According to ANN, there should be... as ALI PROJECT moves to deal with the OP, KOKIA then moves to deal with the ED; position switch.

Ein dies, Reiji dies, Everyone else dies, Cal lives, THE END (Happy Ending). :D

hard to think cal can be happy if reiji dies...maybe, if reiji somehow turned into some asshole near his end...

and to me Azuma Reiji is awfully similar to Kururugi Suzaku. Likable, but this one emofag side of him made me go like this....



and still, that giuseppe...i know he really loves to fuck with clau but...if he really hates inferno that much, why don't have ein snipe the hell outta Mcguire's head during the meeting. all he told ein to shoot is some weird statue...wth? and that mcguire too, until now i still fail to figure out what makes him actually able to act like that...even isaac chickens out in front of him.

lastly...i think i kinda want to see a cal x mcguire ending now...that will be hilarious.

Reiji must or will have to die in a sacrificial manner more or less, and hopefully, he does if for Cal instead of Ein. Ein should just tag along with him to hell.

Either way, I seriously doubt that there’s gonna be a true happy ending to this series. I actually thought that episode 10 was already more than enough of a fitting end.


As far as I’m concerned, he had nothing against Inferno. Surely, you haven’t forgotten who's the one who set him up to take the fall. It was all but Claudia whom he has a grudge against, not McGuire.


He’s the fuckin charismatic HEAD of INFERNO for a reason. We just don’t see it but I’m certain that there’s something more to him; that he’s someone whom you’ll never want to mess with. My only hope is for the series to end without him being a mere wall display.

Disturbing? Well, I think it's disturbing too...but somehow I'm itching to see how McGuire handles love...and I seriously hate Ein now that i wouldn't consider her as a candidate. Not to mention Cal is too nice a girl to actually be hogged by Reiji...

Agreed, Reiji does not deserve someone like Cal around him. Not to mention that the whole "Judy's revenge" stuff was utter bulls#!t.

And can someone kill Scythe, already? He's a fucking asshole.

So, watched ep 17 and I have to say: God damn; Scythe Master is deviously smart! Will be interesting to see what happens in the future.
On another note; Reiji seems to be reverting back into his pussy like self again :cry: And what's up with Ein?

17 was sweet indeed. Lots of twists (though not that unexpected /if only [color=#efefef]they hadn't spoiled Ein's survival so badly...[/color]), multi-layered scheming and very nice, subtle interludes accompanied by splendid music.



As for the main cast ... I always enjoyed how Ein and Cal were the trademarks of the two completely opposite sides of the show with the first being the heavy, slow and emoish one and the other the more joyful and upbeat. With this I'm not really mad about [color=#efefef]Ein's comeback[/color] (there's no need to spoil this shit at this point is there ?) since the episode was a splendid example of the other (and somewhat neglected) side of Phantom. I expect a 3rd face to be relieved in the near future.
