Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~

Hell, I hope Cal comes to her senses and goes to Zwei's side. Shes my favourite character right now >.> and I really want to see Scythe die. I'd love to see an episode that focuses on him DYING. Like over and over again. I'd enjoy that, a lot.

Lol that would be epic. He gets a Killer Harem(pardon the pun). But so far I think this is going to be just how I predicted it. A Love-Triangle of Assassins lol.

Lol, Cal already likes Reiji. Ever since they started living together. The only reason she let Scythe control her was so that she could be good enough to kill Ein probably. Which is probably want Scythe wanted, make her take out Ein by telling her that if she kills Ein, Zwei will be hers or something like that. A child's mind is easily manipulated? Just my Theory tho, still waiting for Hermit View on this, he's pretty good at this stuff:P.

Episode 21 subbed out! Wow that was fast. My thoughts were correct, Drei challenges Ein... and as i had thought, Scythe screwed up Cal's mind...>.< , The previews are what kinda got me scared.. it looks as if Reiji will kill Cal...

Oblivion, that’s where you’ll find me. Btw, don’t feed my ego any more than it can chow down. It’s already pretty obese as it is right now so...
So, what business do you guys have with me? I guess I could interpolate a little...
Time skips shouldn’t really be that big of a deal particularly in such cases where nothing much of importance took place. That and there’s obviously more room (episodes) to spare for those rather significant flashbacks. Also, time-skips are often necessary to either cut off the less important details to make a series fit within its definite number of episodes; Or to obscure the obvious in sort of providing the viewers a few things to think about.
Come on, what is it exactly that you would have expected or wanted to see in those 2 years of hiding and being nomads? (The country where I’m at was even mentioned.) Anyway, that’s where "imagination" usually comes into play. What’s already obvious is obvious. They need not waste an episode to emphasize or prove that Scythes indeed developed Cal into the assassin that she is now.
What’s her age again when she had first met Reiji two years ago? That sure is a lot of growth! :D My only issue with her character right now is that her voice sounded like Canaan’s and you know how much I hate Canaan (the character, not the series mind you). Yes, both characters are portrayed by Miyuki Sawashiro who is in fact a good seiyuu in my book.
I really wanna whack Reiji for quickly assuming that Cal was dead. Though under the situation he was in at that time, he couldn’t really have afforded to take any risk of moving around that much. Though quite understandable, he still is partially at fault.
As for his reaction as to when she saw 'her'... guilty as charge! It’s as if he had seen a ghost. What would he do from there on? His two most probable course of action that comes to mind is 1.) to talk her out of it and/or 2.) to accept/take all the blame upon himself. As where it stands, he’s incapable of killing her; just pointing a gun at her seems impossible. That said, if all negotiation breaks down (as I highly doubt she’d be easily convinced) the latter would most likely happen and if it does, he’d atone for it by accepting her grudge/resentment along with a bullet through his head.
Wait, just where the hell are you guys getting at? There’s nothing wrong with being idealistic but speculating with biased regards to your own liking is often unsound.
Cal made her presence felt and that’s about it. She didn’t come to Japan for pleasantries nor a discussion. She’s not looking for any explanation from Reiji, she only came to claim his life. And that’s a fact that’s been laid down since the previous episode where Scythes found her and told her such lies about how Reiji deceived her etc etc.
She’s clearly the one being used and not the other way around. Also, she’s not even aware of Ein’s existence in the beginning only to be jealous of her now. After all, it's Reiji whom she really has something against and should very well be her primary target.
The idea of her coming to Japan of her own free will to settle things with Reiji is possible. However, judging by the next episode preview, I don’t think so. She did mention if she should refer to Ein as the old Phantom which would imply that she had taken the name for herself which then leads to the conclusion that she is working for Inferno, under Scythes’ direct command.
If Cal should ever come into a realization, that should mark the beginning of the end for this series.
A love triangle between assassins (the past and the present Phantoms) could be fun but that’s just not the sort of stuff I’m expecting from the current developments.
Here’s how I see it.
-Reiji will be a nuisance
-Ein will protect Reiji at all cost and will not hesitate to eliminate Cal
-Cal will have to deal with Ein first and the two of them will try to cancel each other out
-Reiji should settle the score with Scythes and deliver the finishing blow
-no idea as to how the other characters, esp Mio, would fit in into the whole picture
How disorderly can this post get...
PS: I haven't seen episode 21 yet. Making me hurry is also a bad thing which should be avoided at all times.

Finally Hermit makes his appearance , and hopefully you'll watch episode 21 when you have a chance and thus see that some of your conclusions(and i believe some of mine) have or have not been proven. ^^

Well, it's 2 AM right now and I'm kinda tired after a long day, so I won't go in depth regarding my review right now, that will have to come later.
By the way, I seriously can't be arsed to try to include things within a spoiler, so if you're afraid of spoilers for episodes 20 and 21, don't read this god forsaken post.
Ep 20 was.. interesting to say the least. Got a bit annoyed at it though, it was all confusing and shit. The scene with Cal taking off her god damn helmet couldn't have been more slower. Interesting to see a time skip, though you did expect it from the way the series went and that bullshit recap episode 19. By the way, kinda funny that my premonition of Mio playing a small role later in the series turned out to be true. She kinda reminds me of Yukio Washimine - you know; the mafia boss' daughter in Black Lagoon Second Barrage. The hair style, hair colour, the formal speech, being a mafia boss' daughter. Yeah... On another note; Cal sure entered a ridiculously big growth spurt during these 2 years... But.. not her nose apparently. Seriously, what is up with that? She has no nose when looking at her from the front. My liking of her grows though, I didn't quite like her when she was a kid.
Ep 21 was also rather interesting. I have to admit, Cal is Hot. And, my appreciation of her rose when she just blatantly threw her towel on Scythe Master, lol. High light of the episode. And geesh, can't he die already? Hope Reiji grows some balls real soon and kills him. I am very curious how things will play out in the next chapter - I'm looking forward to it.

Ugh. For some reason my slow as ass internet became insanely fast today, and I got ep21 in 30 mins, which normally takes 12 hours...
Anyway, just watched it...and I gotta say it's nothing surprising. You reap what you sow, I must say. I mean, when Reiji shot Ein, he hastily concluded that Ein was dead, and seek new love. Then he said sweet things to Cal(raawwrr!), making her fall for him. Then after his room was blown, again without any justification whatsoever he concluded Cal was dead, and again went on with Ein.
It went well in Ein's case since she's pretty much brainwashed and can only think of killing herself if Reiji is fucked up, but for Cal it should be different. She's not brainwashed, no memory erasing whatsoever. Cal, even before she lived with Reiji, was loved. She understood the feeling of loss(Sasuke x Naruto, anyone?) and while at first she thought she lost Reiji, after learning of Ein's existence, she knew she was betrayed. Ok, things may had been inevitable for Reiji, but no matter what, in Cal's view, Reiji stood her up, for Ein. So it only makes sense for Cal to want to delete Ein's existence, and settle things with Reiji later. She may still like Reiji and want's to live with him afterwards, but for now I believe all she wanted to do is to make Reiji feel part of what she felt, when Reiji left her behind.
Scythe is kinda good in this, dammit. No toying with memories whatsoever...he just uses Cal's feeling to reach his goal. Damn you Reiji, for being hasty.
Well, that's what I think...next episodes will tell.

*sigh* depressing episodes were depressing though.
i really liked cal as a kid. now a sexy bomb shell 2 years later... wtf?
well whatever its not a bad change, hopeful reiji will go and take another level in main character, kick cal's ass to remind her whats good in the world, and possibly save ein? unlikely.
depressing shit like this is unending so im more likely to believe that he'll end up killing both cal and scyth master, and ein ending up dead in the end. its sad i know but thats the only (albiet dark) conclusion i could see and still have this make sense.

Hell, if Reiji doesnt save ein and knock some sense into Cal I'll kill him for not being able to help my 2 waifus.
@LibelloMello Yes, I have decided to follow your idea. Inferno thinks you need to die, so...*shoots LibelloMello's head*

Drei's fun. And kickass. And has more vitality than the other two put together. She can kill off both of em for all I care.
If only her tits weren't bigger than the entire Cal as she used to be ...
Seriously though ... I can't envision all 3 of them surviving (nor do I want to) and hope they go out in style if either of them has to. Reiji is somewhat likely to score another bullet for either of the chicks but it would also be somewhat unoriginal.
BTW what's with all the Scythe hate ? I didn't like the dude at first but he turned up to be a very capable, patient and adaptive villain.
The show also seems to have taken a bit to much time with the first emo arc IMHO even though I liked it. The current part of the story has potential for twice as many episodes than there are remaining.

There'd be no such thing as a happy ending where the three (past, former, present) Phantoms can all live together. It's not possible and even if they did pull it off somehow, it will SUCK everything out of what this series really stood for or in other words, the story itself would have lost its meaning.
What do I have in mind? (some random stuff)
-There's no turning back the hands of time; Cal is no more.
-Drei is no puppet with strings. She's got the will of her own and plenty of hate to go along with it.
-Reiji is a dead man walking. Two years or less of living a life of peace (in a dream filled with lies) would have at least dulled his skills a little. Not to forget that he's prone to act irrationally when it comes to those whom he's emotionally attached with. He's already proven so time and time again thus the notion of him killing Drei/Cal is out of the question; for the time being.
-The preview when he saw Cal's (past) image would attest to that. He's not going to pull any trigger... he simply CAN'T, especially not at her.
-Scythes did perform quite a noteworthy act of suggesting what and where Zwei’s achilles’ heel lies.
-Ein vs Drei – Sure, I’d love to see them try to kill each other but favoring only but one is a fuckin torture.
-It's rather pointless to keep the hate up for Scythes. If there's one thing that I could ever be so certain, it is that he's gonna die. I don't know how exactly but I just know that the story’s end shall only be justified through it. Anyway, Claudia should fit the role perfectly and by role I mean as his "angel of death".
-Who else believes in miracles?! that Claudia is alive and well?
What else, @Libello: I can't find the right words to say to you man. Who would have guessed!? Definitely not me.
-Well, in relation to the whole involvement of the Godoh group and Mio to the plot, Shiga's future looks very grim.
@TheForgotten: It's you who inspired me to write down all of these nonsense thus making you liable for whatever law suit that may arise from this post.
The only two possible endings that I can see right now is... (plus one)
- Reiji and Elen: Drei will have to die
- Cal: Ein and Reiji (ultimately) must die
- No consolation ~Requiem for the PHANTOMS~
My hands are tied (very limited time to write this post down). I can't go into further details so I'm leaving it up to you guys to speculate and discuss.
