I don't know about that... we'll find out in two days if AT-X will air the final episode or not. If they don't, I think most likely we have to wait for the DVD release. I really hope some protest goes against those TV stations in Japan if AT-X decides to "Nice Boat" us too.

Higurashi's epi was canceled too :( Dang two series that I was waiting for.

News about the anime.

Overflow, the game producer, has announced that the airing of the final episode will take place somewhere in Tokyo. The catch is, you have to have a copy of the School Days or Summer Days game for admission. Of course, for those of us that aren't in Japan, that's a problem too.

Luckily for everybody, AT-X has announced that they will air the final episode as planned tomorrow!!! That means probably by Wednesday or tomorrow if the speed-subbers rock, we will all be getting our fill of the finale!

Another axe attack had occured. This time by a 15-year-old boy. The father survived. While Tokai TV chose this path, other stations had decided the latter and aired the 12th episode.

School Days finale airs on the 27th, yay.

OMG I'm so excited!! I have class in half an hour and I won't be back until 2.5 hours later, but I just triggered the download of the School Days final episode on the Japanese P2P; it should be done when I'm back. lol I don't think I'll be able to concentrate during class (a horrifically boring philosophy class).

Hahah pardon my being excited, but damn... they did make us wait on the edge of our seats for too long. ><

Oh my god. The ending is so screwed up. It's so messed up I totally understand why they canceled airing it after the axe murder.

I don't know what to say, apart from the fact that no one will be forgetting this anime for a long time.

Yes it is!! It's so... disastrous...

Anyway, a very brief summary of the episode:

Makoto and Kotonoha are spending Christmas together when Sekai calls Makoto on the phone while they are having dinner. Turns out Sekai was preparing a hearty Christmas feast at Makoto's place, and wants to eat with him. However, Makoto says he has something important to do and cannot go. Sekai becomes suspicious and asks if Makoto is with another girl; she also says he shouldn't do stuff like that because she's pregnant with his child. Makoto becomes flustered and shouts over the phone that Sekai shouldn't have told the whole school about her pregnancy and that he doesn't know what to do about their baby. Sekai becomes angry and destroys the dinner she spent so long preparing, and messages Makoto telling him she'll go home.

As Sekai gets off at her train station, she sees Kotonoha snuggling up to Makoto in the train going the other way. Shocked, she hurries back to his apartment.

Meanwhile, Makoto has brought Kotonoha up to his flat and is preparing tea. Sekai rings the doorbell, and Kotonoha answers it, only to be slapped on the face. After Makoto comes to see what happened, Kotonoha reveals to Sekai that Setsuna also loved Makoto, and taunts her; how Sekai became her friend, tried to bring them together, and suppressed her own feelings, paralleling how Setsuna had to suppress her own feelings to support Sekai. Sekai is shocked; Kotonoha continues saying 'nice things', and she and Makoto share a deep kiss. Sekai is emotionally tormented as she watches them and screams.

A short sequence follows paralleling the sequence with Setsuna, questioning Sekai of her true motives when she tried to bring Kotonoha and Makoto together, ending with Sekai screaming in denial on the bridge. Later that night, Sekai receives a text message from Makoto, where he says that Kotonoha told him about a good hospital and that Sekai should go there and get an abortion.

Next morning, Makoto recieves a text message from Sekai telling him she wants the two of them to talk later today, alone. During lunch, Makoto has some more of Kotonoha's tea and tells her he wants to spend time with her like this from now on.

Later that day, Sekai and Makoto are alone in his house, and Makoto awkwardly tries to strike a conversation. Sekai then goes off and makes tea, and notices the dinner she put in so much effort to make in the bin. Sekai becomes determined and picks up a knife.

After a short scene where Kokoro exclaims to Kotonoha in vain she wants to eat with Makoto as well, Makoto receives a text message. Turns out it was from Sekai, and reads "Sorry... Sayonara." Makoto barely has enough time to contemplate what it meant before Sekai drives a knife into this body. Sekai violently stabs Makoto several times, and Makoto utters a final weak "Sekai..." before dying. Sekai panics after reminiscing the time she shared with him and runs away. Later, Kotonoha walks in to find the dead Makoto on the floor.

Sekai, alone in the room, receives a message from Makoto's phone telling her to meet at the school roof. After some alarming conversation that reveals Sekai's pregnancy is a lie, Kotonoha asserts that she is Makoto's one and only girlfriend. Sekai screams that she wanted Makoto to be her boyfriend; Makoto wanted her body, and all she did was give it to him. Kotonoha then says that Makoto is here with them and probably heard everything they said. Sekai opens the bag, looks inside, and panics, while Kotonoha brandishes a cleaver. By the time Sekai realises what happens, it's too late; Kotonoha disarms Sekai and severs her neck. Kotonoha then cuts Sekai's womb open and finds out Sekai, after all, didn't have Makoto's baby. (OH MY GOD!!)

Some time later, Kotonoha is shown to be on a Nice Boat out in the sea, hugging on to Makoto's head contently.

After the credits, several scenes show that the lives of everyone else go on as if nothing happened. Makoto does a lot of narration but I won't type that here.

OK, maybe it wasn't that brief, but my god. I feel so sorry for everyone except Makoto. >< And umm... Jacob, do we have spoiler tags in this forum?

Wow. The fansubs are ridiculously fast. The episode only aired this morning for god's sake; I wasn't expecting a subbed version until tomorrow. T_T

Freaking disturbing indeed. We all saw the Makoto thing coming, but this last scene between Sekai and Kotonoha? Ouch. At least Kotonoha gets her "happy ending".

But wait, it's actually still unclear if Sekai was really pregnant or not - Kotonoha is so mentally done at the end, it was night and Sekai could have only been in her first or second month. So there's no proof actually :o.

You know, I really don't feel sorry for any of the characters anymore. They're all a bunch of fucking morons.

Hell, my hatred for Makoto has diminished dramatically. I mean, all those girls were pretty much lining up to have sex with him. Is it really that surprising that he would take up their offers?

Also, Kotonoha is the ultimate yandere. I quite liking her when I realized that she was a complete psychopath. >_>

I'm actually agreeing with you here.

Sekai, who seemed to be the one who suffered the greatest losses, turned out to be lying about her pregnancy (whether she knew that she had a baby or not remains debatable; her not wanting to go to hospital could be attributed to her not wanting to lose Makoto's baby, or it could be because she knew she had no baby). Sekai is also portrayed as the ultimate hypocrite, and ultimately the person who caused everything (Makoto narrates that he would have been contented with just staring at Kotonoha on the train every day; if Sekai didn't offer to help him, and if she didn't offer to do those practise sessions, none of this would have happened). How intentional were her actions? This question is difficult to answer. One thing is for sure though, whether Sekai knew she had a baby or not, she should've just went to the hospital to confirm/abort the baby, and left Kotonoha and Makoto to live happily ever after. But no. She just had to kill Makoto, get herself killed and strip away Kotonoha's happiness. But as they say, there is no right or wrong in matters of love.

Kotonoha turned out to be a psycho ever since Makoto dumped her in front of Setsuna. Ironically however, she seems to be the only one who could see through Sekai's acts to the very end. She avenges Makoto and proves to us viewers that Sekai was lying all along (or so she says). However, the fact she's a psycho and stays a psycho until the very end is quite horrifying; her calm words as she revealed Setsuna's crush to Sekai epitomizes her apparently soft exterior yet somewhat crazy inner self. Also, if Kotonoha was not so scared of letting Makoto touch her, Makoto would not have sought satisfaction of his sexual desires from Sekai (who was only too willing to give him what he wanted).

Makoto, after the ending, probably is the one who really suffered. Before all this started, he was a nervous and handsome boy of good conduct. He innocently adored Kotonoha from afar, and as he narrates at the beginning and the end of the anime he is content with just seeing Kotonoha everyday. But with Sekai's intervention, he began wanting more. He began wanting so much that he got tired of the conservative Kotonoha. Compound it with the fact that Sekai started letting him grope her boobs, and we have a Makoto who thinks only with his dick, screwing any girl that walks up to him in order to satisfy his lust. I suppose he deserves his death for being so indecisive and irresponsible when Sekai apparently got pregnant, as well as destroying Kotonoha's mental health completely, but when one thinks about it he would not have done what he did if Sekai didn't suddenly appear in his life.

All in all, the moral of this story is, don't screw around with more than one girl, or end up like Makoto as the girls each devise their own horrible methods to win you back...
