[Locked] FAKKU mobile on the way?

13
For a long time people have been requesting a mobile version of FAKKU, and my response has always been "I don't have a smartphone, so don't expect it anytime soon". Well that all changed today! I picked up an HTC Incredible and so far I am loving it. But this is my first time using Android so I have no idea what apps are worth getting. So for those of you that are experienced, what should I get?

I'd like to ask: If we make a mobile version/app for FAKKU, what features would you like to see? We still have a lot of things to do on the main site before we can start with something mobile, but I'd like to begin planning ahead. And if you are an experienced Android developer and want to help out, send an email to jacob@fakku.net

I recognize Momoka but who is that other girl beside her in the pic? Is she possibly
Fakku's second mascot that we've all been so eager to see?

Damn, I'm envious for that phone! I probably don't have guts to look at Fakku on the road so I don't have much suggestions but I'm sure it will be an awesome feature :)

If you made an application for FAKKU! I think it would be great to somehow make it so that when you are reading a manga, you would slide your finger across the screen to flip to the next page. And something like organizing your favorited mangas by moving them around with your finger would be cool too.

Jacob is finally catching up
apps you GOTTA have

Facebook - if you have facebook, this is really convenient. I use it every day. Not really detailed but does the job.
Twitter - Same reason as Facebook
Pandora - Plays the kind of music you like by entering song name, genre, or artist. I learned of a lot of music that is my favorite right now through pandora
Wapedia - A fast simple wikipedia app. I dunno about others but i use wikipedia a lot... for procrastination and other info uses.... ssshhh...
Advanced task killer - its basically task manager.
Shazam - you gotta be an idiot to not know what this is. It is an app that tells you the song info when your phone listens to the song you don't know.
Torrent-fu - If you use utorrent, this is pretty useful cuz it shows the progress of torrents in your pc.
Dolphin Browser - A web browser if you don't like the default browser in your android. Has a lot of features but a bit unstable. I'm sure it'll get better through its regualr updates.
Google goggles - this is AMAZING. Take a picture of ANYTHING (text, address, landmark, restaurants, etc. etc.) and use Google Goggles, BAM! it searches it for you in google itself. Amazing in my opinion.

I think the mobile version of Fakku should be simple (duh). Make a front page. Have Manga, images, and forums. I honestly think that is all it needs for a Mobile-Fakku! If users say it needs more, you can always add stuff :D btw, i use my mobile to come to regular fakku everyday anyway. the only problem is that i can't login for some reason but that might just be me.

Let's see.
Updates on what's been uploaded, like "So-and-so doujin by This Artist has been uploaded." with previews[like 2 or 3 pages just to get whoever excited to run home and fap].
A calandar with when, where, and what con FAKKU! will be attending.
Either being able to chat in IRC or the forums via moble.
As far as viewing doujins go, it'd have to be like what DC and Marvel[?] are doing with their respective iPad apps, being able to click on individual pannels and such.

That all I got.

Kind of Important A ray of Tsunlight.
Honestly, I've had no problem loading, and looking and replying on the forums and reading doujins on my HTC Evo. I'm not sure of the differences between any of the phones you all have. Or maybe it's the difference in carrier?

In any case, for those of you with the Android phones, get an app called Advanced Task Killer. Basically it'll kill off all (Or any if you decide to choose them individually) apps running. At least on my phone, all of the apps stay open all the time if I go open a different one, or make a call. So you can free up some processing power, and get that little extra bit of battery life, cause it's horrible enough for me as it is.

I would just like the computer based site to work properly then let's worry about a mobile site Jacob.

Well that's the thing there many specific apps for the specific things you want or plan on using the mobile for

For example there's a app just for 93x a local rock station here were I live
