i like the idea but i would rather the current issues get resolved before you start new ones.

This, and also let's not forget the other well-known smartphones like the iPhone.

For once I can stop being only a leecher and actually contribute to Fakku !
Like the other dev, once I'm done with summer stuff, I will gladly help for a fakku android app, even if I don't know if I can be called a "experienced" android developper, I think I can still do worthy stuff !

I found a basic intro to converting hell to mobile hell guide.

http://mobiforge.com/developing/story/creating-mobile-web-sites-with-google-app-engine

It uses python and it might be able to take the existing code and convert it to a mobile browser depending on which browser it is (Mobile Safari, Mobile Opera/Mini, PIE/PIE variant, or any webkit variant). I'll see about playing around with it after Otakon to see if this might work out for Fakku.

easy way to visit the forums, and read manga :)

This is the perfect opportunity to create a section specifically for doujinshi that isn't Hentai. To be more specific, a section for stories like the soul eater doujinshi Upright.

In general, a mobile site is usually easier on you to deal with. But an app can be much more useful to the user, including notifications on updates, better support to device specific things, etc.

One thing you could do is have a public API, and open it up to the community to create the app. Manga viewer apps aren't all that hard to make. Hell, I whipped up a manga app based off of onemanga.com in a week. With an API to get the information directly, it's even simpler.

Anyways, I have Android experience, and I'm an iPhone Dev in my day job, so if you guys ever want some help, I'm your guy. (Now just gotta find a way to put this on my resume...)

Fuck Yeah! XD

Things that are needed to be present on Fakku Mobile:
View Headlines
Forums
View Mangas Online
View Videos Online(Streaming) Kinda possible I think
and maybe the IRC

I just joined an App making competition for Android in our school. Who knows I might be able to join the team to create the Fakku app after becoming more familiar with android.

But right now. I'm just a noob. o_o

Unfortunately, I don't think you can make an "app". Not without apple getting all over you about it. I don't know how it is with the droid marketplace, but I can't imagine it being any different.

Anyways, if you make a mobile version of the site that I can use safari with, here's what I personally want.

To be able to view the Manga.
and to be able to sort the manga.

I would like this App :D

Needed Functions are:

-Reading Doujinshi/Manga
-Marking/Sorting Favourites
-Watching/Browsing Pictures/Movies [Movies not so important since it takes too much traffic etc]
-Access to the Forums

:]

Making an application for Android is a lot easier, all you need to do is download there Developer Kit and spend the one time $25 Developer Fee. There are worst applications on the Android Marketplace then a Hentai Manga Reader.

I prefer a mobile version than a app for android (for iphone is imposible because apple don't want porn in their terminals) because I have a Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic (Nokia app sucks)

Some of my apps (Android and N1 RLZ!):

A Good Reader and Feedsquares: The 2 are the same, use for reading feeds on your GReader Account. Try it and choose yourself, I prefer A Good Reader, but Feedsquare is not that bad.

Androzip and ASTRO File Manager: Quite obviously, for managing your SD content, even the compressed ones. If you come from symbian and you used x-plore before you could just use it, Lonely Cat Games released an Android version.

DoubleTwist: Definitively better than the default music app. Use it with the desktop version to easy sync music to your device. The advantage is the music folder are organized by artist\album\songs so if you need to delete or add something it will be a lot easier. Cons: Deskto app could be a little slow.

Rock Player (free version): Sice your Incredible has the same specs as the N1 you will just love it. Is for playing videos, just copy almost any video without conversion and it will play it right away. Add a 3G connection and you could watch, movieas, anime... right into your droid with no need of an PC. Works smoothly, and things just work. Maybe you could get some problems with some .mkv related codes but the most of it will work. Cons: The phone could get quite hot.

Skyfire: Since you have Eclair (v2.1) you could use for Flash. Is a browser app that uses their intermediate servers to speed up a little navigation (like Opera Mini who is available on Android too) and has a feature that allows to see Flash content. Even its not perfect, works quite good. When HTC release a Froyo OTA update (v2.2 )you could just install Flash 10.1 and see Flash content as same as your PC.

Tapatalk: Free version only allows you to read forums, while paid maks you be able to write. Makes forums look into a mobile friendly way, and there is more than one and two who has it enabled. Quite useful to read forums. Paid version is 2.99US dollars and only worths if you post a lot.

A note from Android Market: When you buy an app you have 24H of testing. If you dont like it just go to Market open the app page on the market and unistall it and you will get a full refund of your money. Only works 1 time per app. If you pay again for the same app there is no way back.

Some tips with Android: Long press the menu button will show the On-Screen keyboard. If you long press the Home button you will get recent apps used. And about task killers, are not neccesary in new phones since they have enougth resources to handle it. Source: http://android-developers.blogspot.com/2010/04/multitasking-android-way.html Anyways is good to have it, just if an app freezes, and you cannot close it the normal way, just in that few cases.

About a mobile version of Fakku: Actually normal Fakku works fine into my N1, maybe the only problem is buttons are quite small so you need to zoom it quite frequently, but this is usually if you navigate from a mobile. Even with my old 5800 works (not as great like N1 but let me to read manga and read forums) As stated before make it just a mobile version of the website, so the love who Apple denied to iPhone/iPod/iPad users you could give to it. But please, DON'T make it to look like an iOS native app. Well, hope you get into it when you finish the fixes to fakku! Greetings, and sorry if it's too long or there's some mistakes on the text (im not a native ENglish speaker xD)

All I would like is easy page changing for the manga. I hate having to hit tiny buttons on my phone.

Allright.. i own a JailBreaked iPhone. Just to push that out, and get the laughter. :)

WebApps - i hate them. Seriously, i do.

If you're gonna do smth, do it right - From the Start.
Make a FAKKU app - distribute it via Cydia.. and, it should include downloading rars / extracting / deleting the archives and a good/smooth viewer.
Don't forget the News, ViewOnline and the FORUM.

Maybe an IRC client in that aswell? *g

that's ALL i'm askin for! :3

A novel idea. I've got an evo4g, myself at this point and I can browse fakku rather easily on it...this is kinda tough though guys. Fakku is a multi-faceted website, where people usually come to post on the forums or "mostly" download things. Making an app that allows streamlined download and searching of doujins or pictures while retaining forum browsing capability sounds kinda hard. I think the facebook app is really crappy and have ceased to use it on my phone. The new youtube mobile site is way better then any app too btw..good forward thinking though.

A FAKKU! app is a jolly good idea. I would be happy with just the ability stream doujin onto my phone. I haven't tried to stream through my phone browser. Using an Epic 4g. My 1st smart phone :3
