Maitetsu Fixes and Updates

Let me know if this breaks anything, been a bit inactive lately. Come back to be disappointed with an update that only fixes what my patch accomplished lol

Does this mean that in the sprite editor, the "Nude" setting will still be the towel sprites? If you don't have permission to use the standing nude assets, can't you at least retranslate the setting more appropriately as "Towel"? I'm trying to be understanding of the situation but this would be pretty frustrating.

You should probably make a smaller patch that only contains fixes for the remaining 2 issues: the towels/steam in the bath scenes and that single nipple cg (possibly the sprite editor too). On the positive side, if those are really the only changes remaining, then your patch will be complete at that point.

Well, we have some good and bad things to eat there.

I'm really happy to see FAKKU actually put enough pressure on Denpasoft (and Sekai Project) for them to correct those issues. It wasn't an easy thing seeing how they handle things usually, so big thanks.

But on the other side... I feel deception for Lose. Why censoring their own game ? Because we're not worth some uncensored CG ? Because we're too sensible ? Why ? I agree that nude lolis in a game can lead to some harsh reactions from outside Japan, but isn't it better to let people decide ? I always hate when a company choose what is good or not for me.

So I preordered this game, and didn't ask a refund. I'll still not do it, because trains, but now I know I should not buy Lose games anymore. And once again, big thanks to FAKKU for this, it really wasn't an easy win but you still did it.

They don't, since when Lose censor their games for PC? their only censored releases are console ports: Monobeno -pure smile- and Maitetsu -pure station-. Lose is constantly releasing appends, sex scenes with lolis, for both Monobeno and Maitetsu, and now, suddenly, they decided that nude sprites and some bath CGs are too much... yeah, nah. I'm willing to give Fakku the benefit of doubt. However, you'll have to be a shill or retard to not suspect SP at all. Why would Lose force them to use censored sprites and CGs in a +18 release that include H-scenes? This reeks of ass. Even if it were true, they should have tried harder to change Lose's decision. They probably just took it in stride without protest. And let's be real, "the bare minimum" is practically SP's motto.

You're our only hope here my man, just replace a few sprites and CGs and BOOM, full fixed game.

The fan patch had already restored these, so I will just wait for that patch to be completed I guess and thank Denpa for nothing as usual.

Should be easy, just strip the fan patch down to the elements that are still left altered. Shouldn't be too long of a wait. Edit; What I've heard the patch seems to be working fine with this version too so on that front no issues.

If we ever do get Monobeno licensed, I highly suspect it'll need a bigger patch though...

What is even going on you guys!????

Let me get this straight? Are you telling me that Lose is going to change the actual Japanese game as well to not include nipples?

Or have we been LIED TO THIS ENTIRE TIME ABOUT GETTING AN UNCENSORED LOLI EROGE??????????

I think I'm done with Vns guys. This is like a physical punch straight to my head and my heart. I'm taking this very personally. This is Xenophobic, this is gross, I want no part of an industry that wants no part of me......

I gave Sekai a chance, but my "Deliver an uncensored Maitetsu or I will never buy a Sekai game again" still stands and is now final. Goodbye trash company. I know where I will be finding your games in the future. The bare minimum for a localization team is to explain that the crowd doesn't want steam bath scenes, and if you can't do that then you are as good as worthless for bringing over Japanese content to the west.

My old plans were to buy the game twice to support loli games, one on steam + patch and one full game. As Sekai is now banned from my list of purchasable games, Steam and patch is no longer an option. And as the game is butchered, I'm not going to buy it twice from FAKKU either, but the game will just have fewer sales due to censorship as everyone knows is the direct backlash for censoring. Why Loose want fewer sales, I don't know. Maybe Sekai suggested selling fewer games for less profit because it is a hobby of theirs?

But since there will probably be a 3rd party restoration patch for ALL content and it is a loli game, I'd still be willing to buy the game once from FAKKU. I'd prefer it discounted for the censorship, but may pay the full price just for loli. Any other genre and I wouldn't buy the game until a sale. I don't pay extra for not getting a product I want.

Mosaic was bad but towels and light bars are too much. I'm sure some people tried their best to do things right but this is not a release I'm willing to support.

A Japanese company being pants on head retarded and a western publisher who doesn't give a fuck.

Western VN market in a nutshell.

And in the end they'll wonder why the game didn't sell very well in the west. If you can't trust a company to release the product that you expected, people will pirate instead. (I bought the game so fuck off) The people who are savvy enough to look around for fanmade patches/fixes are the same who know how to illegaly aquire the game, there's not a lot of difference between the two, technically.

To beat pirates you want to offer a BETTER service, not a half assed one. You want people to trust you that when they DO pay, they get the best possible product without any hassle. There simply isn't a very high moral barrier to piracy (in the west, idk about Japan but I assume it's different) and you should do everyting you can to make piracy look like the worse option.

This isn't even specifically about censorship, but since it's such a sensitive issue, it doesn't help.

What Japan got: a full uncut release of the game as well as an all-ages version.

What the West wanted: a full uncut release
What the West got: a weird combination of the two.

We have fan patches for the rest so the actual content isn’t an issue, there’s even a demosaic patch being worked on, but the way Maitetsu was officially handled leaves a rather poor impression.
Nonetheless, I’m glad to be able to play this VN in English and that Lose pushed for the 18+ content. I’m still hoping for Monobeno in the future.

Thanks a bunch Jacob and co. It looks like this is the version created by everyone involved putting their best foot forward and I can respect that. I've been reading this here and there and I don't really have an issue with the remaining changes—the main game isn't exactly titillating unless you get off to train glossaries. Rather than censorship it just looks like a few details Lose feels differently about since they released the game in its original form.

The game's been a good read so far. Again, thanks for being so thorough and caring about how you handled this. If you guys are sticking with publishing eroge in the future, I'll be around.

I'm unable to wrap my head around this. Their plan to expand sales of a niche genre is to start off by censoring the least potentially sensitive content, if that's the excuse, which will only contribute to upsetting your new niche customer base? What..?

Not quite going for a refund, but at least now I know they're not that interested in playing ball.

tbh we were never told that the game was not going to have mosaics so im fine with that and i also can understand why lose doesnt want to fully uncensor the game here in the west considering the amount of controversy it can create since the h scenes feature girls who look child like/really young, which is also why many publishers dont localize alot of loli eroge, the fan patch is fine and theres also a de-mosaic fan patch for those who are interested. in the end i thank sekaiproject for even localizing this game as hikari field might have localized it instead and only release it in chinese/japanese similar to monobeno/monobeno happy end and also thankyou to fakku for publishing the 18+ game as without them who knew if sekai would of even updated the game otuside of launch.

Thanks FAKKU, you have tried. I have no/minor complaints to you, it seems you were misled by SP and Lose with preorder “100% uncut bs” as everyone else.

I wonder, did Lose executives hit their heads hard or got full retard (summer heat and all)? Is it some kind of a joke people don’t get? To censor nipples in 18+ release and let have actual SEX later, just beyond my understanding. Do they think it is not appropriate to show small tits and petite bodies on the west? With this kind of approach, how they even let sex scenes to be included in a game? Maybe we all are reading some weird manga, when you know, girl let you do her in every vacant hole, but no kissing, because she wants to kiss a man she loves.

I wanted to play Monobeno for ages, and when I heard that SP translates Maitetsu I got so hyped! I even bought it on Steam, also I own chinese version of Monobeno on Steam (even if can’t understand s..t), but how they (both SP and Lose) handled this release pissed me off and made onii-chan mad.

On a positive note, fans fixed that train wreck. THANK YOU Heliosaurus (replacing CG, emotes), HoplessHiro (uncensoring), lolis bless you.

FAKKU, as an act of good will, you need to take one VN from: Iris, Hamham Soft, Tinkle Position, Galette, Tanuki Soft, Marble Candy Soft and show the World your standards. Just kidding… Comic Lo will be enough, to make me your lifetime subscriber ;)

That would honestly be amazing.
Too bad it’ll never happen.

Hi,

I just downloaded the latest version and did some quick checks based on previous translation mistakes I've seen.
This is what I quickly notice:
*snips*

Are these already on the radar to be fixed?

Thank you.

This is honestly incredibly disappointing. I don't blame FAKKU here, let me make this clear, as it seems they didn't know about any of this before.

But Lose not thinking Western customers are worth experiencing the game in its original form is disappointing - and frankly insulting.

When I learned about this game back then I was hoping it'd be a sign for a change, that we might get more loli content in the west, but at this point it seems like the opposite is the case.

As for Maitetsu itself, I won't refund since I am still interested in the game, but I'll keep using the fan patch - which is a shame, because that shouldn't be necessary anymore.

The good part is that it is proving what I've said for 10 years. There is no problem selling loli games, no apocalypse or #metoo attack. It is just like any other visual novel.

Hopefully someone picks up Complets and start pushing out amazing lolige to the market. Wouldn't mind if FAKKU did it as they seem competent. MangaGamer could probably also do it, if they weren't so wishywashy around loli.

I suppose that's one way to look at it. But I don't think it'll happen.
