[Locked] DONATE REP TO G-MONEY

According to lollollol12's +rep me thread, there aren't many down-to-earth users. Reading a post full of caps isn't funny when done wrong, but his general attitude after all this time makes it funny after a while.



Then tell me why it's an abuse of the rep system.



Why be? Just go and find your own means to gain rep. Even copy them if you must and make nonsensical jokes that are actually funny. What I'm trying to say is that, it's a fair system if you yourself can do it too.

@Persondude: I don't have to copy somebody else's mannerisms or jokes to get rep, and I wouldn't want to either because I wouldn't be me. If I started making nonsensical jokes with every post I made, people would wonder, "Is that really g-money, or has someone hijacked his account?" And if lollollol12's jokes were so damn funny, why would he have negative rep in the first place? And are such repeated jokes made in a crude manner worthy of rep?

It's the very reason why I made this thread as an ironic counter to his nonsense thread. And of course, I'm probably not going to change the opinion of others who feel that lollolol12 is a productive member of FAKKU!, but the overall point of this thread is not about him but the reputation system as a whole.



It debases rep as something that can be earned in a series of games or contests, and from what I've seen, said games/contests are pretty silly and aren't done in earnest or sincerity. And again, this is my opinion. You're free to disagree or agree with me, but my opinion isn't going to change. Now something like the Requests section is something I can appreciate as a proper use of the rep system.

Couldn't agree more; that and the user upload section truly deserves +reps, as well as some of the front page posts. Rep should imo be a yard stick to show how much a user contributes to the forum.

Although i do agree that some of the really intelligent posts do deserve a pat on the back (read rep), but silly contests and "please +rep me" threads are out of question.

I have to agree with PersonaDude on this. I'm never usually fond of his jokes, but lollol has made me laugh a few times even. This topic really is starting to take a turn for the worst in the form of a whinefest.

Now, now guys I do not think this and Lollollol12's thread are different. When I read lol's thread I noticed what he really was saying were complaints that he was getting -repped on a constant basis. This means he's somehow complaining about the misuse and abuse of the rep system which you are also against. In short I do not believe that lol really wanted rep but rather he wanted to complain about the -rep abuse he's receiving. So I do not see why you need to criticize it. Theoretically speaking you should be in the same side if you get what I mean. It's just that instead of making a "-rep me in this thread" to complain about it, he made a +rep one.

Then don't be jealous. If you aren't willing to "degrade" yourself, to work for the rep by giving others laughs, then don't even think to accuse them of rep whoring or gaining rep for retarded reasons.

The reason why lollollol12 had negative rep is because people can't take a joke, and the people who appreciate them are too lazy to rep the man. So his work is going unrewarded by the ones that do like his jokes, and his +rep me thread has turned into a reparations thread.

In my opinion, being funny is a worthy way of gaining rep, especially in Fakku where serious business happens.



Not done in earnest or sincerity? People want the rep which is their motive to win, and most do it in earnest whether they'd like to admit it or not. What's wrong with rep as a prize? In my opinion contests such as these stimulate Fakku user base to come back to have fun, and an extra incentive doesn't hurt anyone. I mean even the admins hold contests every once in a while (of course they use hentai as a prize, but the idea is the same).

Well this is IB after all I guess it's fine to take every post here as pure babbles and jokes. However I was serious when I said that g-money's and lol12's threads theoretically mean the same. Both of them complain on how the rep is abused and misused. It's just that g-money is more frank about it and lol12 was more subtle remember he said:

Seriously, i think IB needs to be moved into SD since everytime someone made a point there'll be an argument included and what hina said is right, both complaints about rep not asking for rep though ulterior motive is something we can't guess correctly >___>

lol if it's like then case closed. I cannot argue when it comes to vibes or feelings and such since I think you know him more. I spoke only through what I see but you speak on what others cannot "lol12's personality". So our statements does not clash at all since you speak for lol12 with familiarity while I speak as an observer and a stranger.

Sweet, this shit is even better than that boring ass rep discussion in the Grow Up thread. Now that I think of it, that discussion got us nowhere.

I don't think this thread will ever reach the drama levels of that one...I sure hope not at least.

Personally I have to agree with g-money with pretty much everything he said, though I'm surprised he doesn't know not to bother discussing things with Tsurayu who just seems to like to argue and PD who seems to take intense pleasure in working towards making the world a dumber place.

Bleh, I know lol12 doesn't care about his rep, it probably was veiled satire. I also believe lol12 is funny most of the time and enjoy his work. I think the reason for his low rep count is due to his open hostility (even in jest) generates negative opinion of his character. Ramsus is one example of someone who may feel slighted by lol12 (though I don't know if Ram has anything to do with lol12's negative rep), it's just an example the reputation lol12 has created. (never believed I would see the day; I'm with Hina on this one.)



I get the feeling that PD is arguing for the sake of arguing. I don't understand why Gmoney should not be jealous of rep he feels was poorly earned and have to keep quiet about an issue he feels needs attention; simply because he is not willing to debase himself to receive the rep in the same manor as the offenders (in his eyes). Don't misunderstand, I believe humor of one of the best reasons to get rep, it's one of the ways I managed to get my first 20 rep; and I also believe Gmoney has made too large a deal about lol12 in this instance but none of that changes the fact that the system is broken and the only real way to fix it is to have staff implement changes.

In reality Gmoney is doing the only thing he can do with his limited power (persuasion), a plea and appeal to the user base as a whole to use rep properly. In the end the only real fix for this will come from Jake.

p.s. I did want to mention that I agree with Gmoney on which posts deserve rep and which don't but that is just our opinions; not everyone believes in the same qualities
